Default Casting Call (Voice Acting Projects) - ARCHIVED

Hi all

Casting Call is now in BETA and all the data we test will be wiped before it is announced to the public.

If anyone can help test this section, it would be very helpful. PLEASE CREATE FAKE PROJECTS, CHARACTERS and submit FAKE AUDITIONS so we can thoroughly test this beast

I'm testing it right now, but it's live on the site but not announced to the public, so we can do Beta testing.

It's actually not 100% complete yet. I still need to code the part where you cast members as characters and select backups.

Any help to look for bugs in the system would be much appreciated.

Also, anyone using Internet Explorer, I'm aware it looks like crap and I'll need to fix the styling

Seems fine from what I can see - hard to tell since I don't need to actually create anything etc.

The only thing for me is that it seems kind of plain - maybe a kick *** banner of some sort would be cool to make the page pop a little bit

Well, as Beta, no one "needs" to create anything I'd just like everyone to create fake projects to test the system.

Yeah, the main page is bare bones right now. There's a marketing side of it I'll need to work on when Beta is over.

Also eveyone, please test the following
- creating characters
- selecting a character image from the BTVA library to assign to the character.
- changing the status of a project and using the filters on the main Casting Call page to view different statused projects
- submit fake auditions (any random mp3 will do)
- "Shout Out" other people's auditions
- Make comments for auditions (which will appear in a popup)
- Then make comments on the project page itself.
- Click on the heading bars to show/hide content

And probably more things I can't think of right now.

Note: After Beta is over, ALL THE FAKE DATA WILL BE WIPED.

I made a fake project. I kind of want it to be real because it's insane.

Seems to be working fine - I submitted auditions, gave shout outs and left comments and it all worked

After taking a look at this "Casting Call" program I do have a suggestion or few...

1. Add "Visual Novel" to the list of categories because thanks to sites like this there is a decent chance that this might be a potential idea...

http://www.visualnovelty.com/

At least I know that I will think of doing something like this...

2. Maybe somewhere in this portion of the site we tell people of which programs they can use to make certain projects such as Audio Plays, Fandubs and the like and give links to them. We should probably focus more on programs we can get legitimately for free but I suppose we could also do something with very inexpensive programs as well.

3. Maybe in that section add in other links that could potentially be of help to Voice Actors such as links were you can learn how to do certain accents and the like.

What do you think?
