Also, this more on me than anything, because I definitely like it, but it seems a shame to "spend" KTC on a relatively small character like Kuro

Otherwise, I dig. All the ones you brought back from the 4kids dub are solid choices (given better direction and writing natch.) Rachael as Nami sounds great to me, same with Colleen as Chopper. Griffith as Sanji is maybe a smidge higher than I'd like him to sound, but I'd be down to hear it. Wayne as Usopp could be neat too. I really like Paul as Roger, and Mitchell as Shanks is one I wouldn't have thought of but would enjoy hearing
This is kinda what I'd imagine Carrie to sound like: http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/.../Mokuba-Kaiba/

You may actually be right on Robin & Vivi. For some reason I though Karen's Mileena was kinda deep but I might be wrong.

Thanks on the rest, though.

Nice NYAV Post cast GreenGoblin.

I'm not much of a One Piece fan but I think it would have been interesting if Ben Diskin voiced Chopper....I know what you're all thinking.....WTF?

Remember Cutemon from Digimon Fusion and Ben can do the voice naturally, plus in his hulked up form, it would sound a lot more natural considering how low Ben can really go.

He's probably the only male VA that could pull off Chopper...at least IMO.

Sam Lavagnino is the only male VA I can picture voicing Chopper at all in a serious production, and even he won't be an eligible candidate for much longer.

While we're on the subject of Chopper, I recall my imagined voices for the characters fluctuating quite a bit whenever I read the manga, but Chopper's voice had pretty consistently been Jessie Flower, at least on the occasions when it wasn't Debi Derryberry

I think I'll take some time to wring out some personal nostalgia and put down some of the voices that I can remember cycling through back in those days. Course, this was way before I was a Vancouver loyalist and even before I had any sense of VA pools or budget restrictions, so y'know

If those old IMDb posts of mine still existed, I'd probably consult those in a heartbeat >_>;

*Monkey D. Luffy - Stephanie Nadolny / Haley Joel Osment / Zach Tyler Eisen
*Nami - May've pictured Christy Carlson Romano at one point, but I recall Mae Whitman stronger
*Usopp - Tom Kenny / Jack DeSena
*Sanji - Orlando Bloom back then, but funnily enough, I picture Johnny Depp now
*Tony Tony Chopper - Debi Derryberry / Jessie Flower
*Nico Robin - Cricket Leigh

*Red-Haired Shanks - Rupert Everett

*Captain Axe-Hand Morgan - Clancy Brown or Michael Dorn
*Helmeppo - Joseph Blanchette's impression of Alfred Ashford

*Buggy the Clown - Chris Sabat as Vegeta or Chuck Huber as Pilaf

*Captain Kuro / Klahadore - Anthony Daniels

*Chef Zeff - Clancy Brown
*Young Sanji - Andy Berman at first, Debi Derryberry afterward
*Don Krieg - John DiMaggio
*Pearl the Iron Wall - Andrew Stanton as Crush

*Saw-Tooth Arlong - Barry Humphries or Steve Blum as Emperor Velo
*Kuroobi - Eric Bana
*Choo - Bruce Spence

*King Wapol - Gilbert Gottfried

*Sir Crocodile / Mr. 0 - J.S. Gilbert / Ted Levine / Michael Clarke Duncan
*Bon Clay / Mr. 2 - Seth McFarlane as Roger
*Mr. 3 - Mark Hamill as Larry 3000
*Miss Goldenweek - Julia Winter
*Miss Valentine - Shanelle Workman
*Igaram / Mr. 8 - Glenn Shadix
*Nefertari Cobra - Christopher Lee

I have to admit, there's a lot of unique variety in casting here, unconventional yet somewhat fitting.

To be fair Cats whenever I'm reading something, chances are my head canons voices are no hold barrels/restricted. Like whenever I'm reading my Transformers comics, it's like a crazy hybrid of LA and Vancouver for everything with the odd Texas/New York/Celebrity VA thrown in.

and Debi would probably make a great Chopper also.

Yeesh. No Idea. They Usually Hire New Talents Or Just Hire A Few Ones From Sentai, New York, And LA. I Would Guess That Hordy Jones Would Either Be Voiced By Rick Steeling And Vander Decken, He'd Have To Be Voiced By Kyle Hebert .

For Hody: Randy E. Aguebor
For Vander Decken: Ian Moore

Heres just a silly idea but for the fake straw hats i think funimation will follow the japanese version and just use the existing straw hats but i would like for them to change it up a bit like chris sabat or patrick seitz as fake luffy

I'm not quite as familiar with One Piece as one of my friends, but she got me interested enough to think up a possible VO list for the Straw Hats.

Monkey D Luffy - either Colleen O'Shauggessy or PJ Bryne
Nami - Kari Walhgren
Ussop - Tom Kenny
Sanji - Nolan North
Zoro - Brian Bloom
Tony Tony Chopper - either Debi Derryberry or Tara Strong
Nico Robin - Vanessa Marshell
Franky - Travis Willingham
Brooke - Phil LaMarr

A few typecasts and oddities, I know, but I still feel pretty content with this list. Any critique?

I would switch Debi and Colleen, and I think Travis, while he'd still be good, is kind of a typical choice. But it's a pretty good cast all around. I've had Bloom in mind as Zoro for a while, glad to see I'm not the only one, haha. And I really want to hear LaMarr as Brook now

That would be cool with me... buuuuut I'd still kinda want Eric Vale to be Fake Luffy, if only because Vale was Luffy in the test dub FUNi made pre-4kids. Just to make a silly inside joke even more layered
