While there's always been VO work done in Miami, the talent pool is probably better known for working on Spanish-language dubs (and infamous Brazilian Portuguese ones) than English ones. That's why it's been surprising to me that we've seen a change in that. Lots of things are coming out of Miami now and it's not just extremely obscure French cartoons, either. We've seen anime and followups to shows from other casts. I can only speculate as to why. This thread is meant to document these new productions for future reference.

Miami's been doing it longer than you think; all of K. Gordon Murray's nightmarish/nonsensical Mexican kids film acquisitions were dubbed in Miami. As were several early anime such as "Prince Planet", "8 Man", "The Amazing 3", as well as the tokusatsu "Johnny Sokko & his Giant Robot".

The studio was Universal Cinergia. The same company that did Four of a Kind on Hulu for TV Tokyo. They also did the LatAm and Brazilian PT dubs of Gintama S1 years ago ...

I would like to add another animated movie to the Eastern animation section.
The Magic Brush AKA 神笔马良 To be honest, its amazing how Miami dubbed Chinese animated movies in English is very limited, ya know. |
