Default Captain America and the Avengers Data-East Arcade Game.

This is for the 1991 Arcade game "Captain America and the Avengers" from Data East that had ports for the SNES and Sega Genesis (there was also a NES game but it was very different from the Arcade game). One little difference that the original Arcade version had over its console counterparts was that it actually had some voice acting. You can find the cutscenes here at...

The characters who seemed to be voiced are...

Red Skull, Whirlwind, Wonder Man, Grim Reaper, Mandarin, Ultron and Crossbones.

Most of these guys have only one or two lines except for Red Skull who has a few lines at least. There is Living Lazer and Klaw (but its hard to tell who was talking) while the playable Avengers are voiced it sounds like they were all played by the same guy with the same voice. Now certain more cynical viewers may ask whats the point of doing this post since like most other Arcade games from the 80s and early 90s the English Voice Talent in this game was not credited at all. So we have no possible way to even remotely figure out who voiced who in this game right? Not necessarily, take a look at this other Data East game called Wizard Fire at...

Notice the little check-marks on that page? Yes believe it or not this Brawler RPG from Data East is one of the really rare Arcade games from the early 90s that actually did VA credits. It wasn't until the mid to late 90s did Arcade Games actually have VA credits (and the majority of them are Japanese). But still these games did come in at similar times (Captain America in 91, Wizard Fire in 92) and done by the same company so the odds of them using the same voice talent is not impossible. Okay for those who are not familiar with the game Wizard Fire can listen to the cutscenes here at this playthrough at...

So in other words Wizard Fire's Male VA Cast namely Greg Sullivan, Bill O'Neil and William Rooney could've also done work on this game as well. Now I admit I understand that I could be way off and that Data East did use completely different voice talent. But I figured that this would at least be something worth looking into.

Default Re: Captain America and the Avengers Data-East Arcade Game.

Okay sorry for bringing an old post back and yeah I'm aware that the first 2 Youtube links are long dead (though incidentallly the Wizard Fire YT link is still active). Anyways you can find a complete showing of the links here at...

Though a little bit of advice is to look at the clips from "072" downward because it seems that all the playable heroes have the same voice. However the boss characters on the other hand have different voices though.

I think that playable character voice you mentioned is supposed to be Captain America himself.
