Default "Scoobert Doobert" (May 2020)

We've got our first two voice actors on board:

Will Forte as Shaggy, and Gina Rodriguez as Velma.

Frank Welker is returning as Scooby, and get this… Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman!

No word on who's voicing Fred or Daphne, Dastardly, or any of the other HB heroes.

Matthew Lillard isn't too happy.

Director Tony Cervone has mostly done 2D work. We still don't know whether the movie will be 2D or 3D.

So basically itís one of those movies where veteran voice actors established as specific characters are replaced with celebrities.

Recently, this seems to be a Warner Bros. problem. They did the same with Lego Ninjago. That's Hollywood for you. It's just extra painful in this case since at one point, they trusted Lillard to play Shaggy in major live-action Scooby movies ...

I don't understand why they kept him in the dark about this. I doubt the stunt cast is going to extend beyond the theatrical movie(s). You think Warner would want to be on the up and up with him.

They did the same with "Winnie the Pooh" and "Christopher Robin". Replace professional voice actors with celebrities.

Conversely, I know that celebrities can't usually reprise their roles on TV series, which have lower budgets.

But I digress.

Also starring Ken Jeong as Dynomutt, and Kiersey Clemons as Dee Dee (one of Captain Caveman's friends).

in fairness to both of those movies, they didn't go full A-lister like most recastings would do - plus they did get actors who do a lot of voice acting as well i.e. Brad Garrett and Craig Ferguson, as well as Tom Kenny in the former movie who is a professional voice actor

also on that same note I'm glad they went for Jim Cummings as Tigger in Christopher Robin, I don't think Chris O'Dowd would've sounded right for the part
