So I'm guessing Aquaman's mom is only for flashbacks because there is no ####ing way I'm gonna believe age-wise that Nicole Kidman as Jason Momoa's mom.

Kinda wish Manta's helmet was more, um, disk-like/plate-like (if that makes sense) and less round, but that's super nitpicky.

We'll see.
Do Atlanteans age at the same rate as humans? And Aquaman is a hybrid, so his aging could potentially be different from either of his parents.

Well, that's Hollywood for you.

59 year old Sean Connery plays the father to 47 year old Harrison Ford.

Diane Lane is only 10 years older than her adopted son's love interest.

Rhys Ifans once played Johnny Depp's father despite being four years younger than his alleged son.

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult appeared to age five years across the 1970s and 1980s.

All you have to do is fudge the numbers and/or physical appearance on either or both ends and suddenly it's totally normal.

But on a more story-based note, Polyester Funk raises a logical point: they're Atlanteans. Gods. An ancient race of powerful beings. So they probably don't age as 'naturally' as normal humans would. Once you throw "gods" or "magic" or "superpowers" into the equation, realistic aging goes out the window. You reach your peak physical appearance and then magically stop until you're truly old enough to become some old fart.

Nah, I agree with you. It looks a little clunky. But who knows? Maybe this is a "Mark I" helmet he's working on and a later iteration will be smoother and more organic?

I wouldn’t say I’m super excited for this movie but it does look good. Heck I’m surprised they did an accurate Black Manta costume. If there was one character I would have understand if they tried to get away with a more “realistic” look, it was gonna be Black Manta.

Although that one scene in one of the trailers where Aquaman goes “yeah!” as he throws a dude gets me every time.

My brother called "Aquaman" a high-budget B-movie, but he liked it nonetheless.

I think your brother might be confusing it was a different, aptly named, actual high-budget B-movie.

I saw this on New Years Eve and I was really surprised and delighted, we finally got a good and fun DCEU movie, Wonder Woman was fine but looking back it's really overrated. Aquaman is a movie I can see myself rewatching again more often.

I think what surprised me the most was hearing Julie Andrews as Karathen...wow I never thought she could sound so intimidating and even a bit scary. Definitely a good live-action voice acting performance, she should get a BTVA nomination IMO, much like Angela Bassett as Shatter.

anyways Jason Mamoa was always a guy I knew that could excel as Aquaman when he was announced as him and he really shines here. Not the absolute biggest fan of Amber Heard but she did fine as Mera. Willem Dafoe playing a supporting protagonist was a nice change of pace and Patrick Wilson's Orm, I rather liked it, makes me think he could've perhaps portrayed Ozymandias instead of Night Owl in the Watchmen movie. Black Manta was awesome and I look forward to a sequel with him in it, It was amusing having Michael Beach (Devil Ray) play his dad, and lastly I was very much surprised seeing Randall Park here too, totally caught me off guard he was in it.

Also the fact Aquaman is proving to be the most successful DCEU movie thus far, tickles me since Aquaman used to be the butt of the joke but now he's based and everyone loves him.
