Default Legendary to Produce Live-Action Gundam Film

Thomas Tull's Legendary Entertainment (300, Pacific Rim, Man of Steel, Jurassic World, Warcraft, Krampus, most of Chris Nolan's post-2005 resume) is planning a live-action Gundam movie.

My knowledge of the Gundam franchise is pretty limited, but Legendary has a solid track record (critically, financially or both) so I have faith that this movie will at least be a visual feast and a fun romp. My main area of interest is how the Gundam mechs themselves will be brought into live-action. Will they do a 1:1 translation (ie, Spielberg/ILM's Ready Player One cameo) or will they have a bit of fun and add their own spin on the designs?
My favourite part about Alexander Pierce requesting that Iron Man visit his niece for her birthday party is that Pierce is a friggin’ 75 year old man. His niece has gotta’ be like, what, in her 30s? This isn’t Iron Man showing up at some kid’s birthday party, this is a grown-a$$ woman with a crush on Tony Stark. A grown-a$$ woman who apparently still holds birthday parties.
