Re: Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!

It's probably just another remix of it, really, imo.

Re: Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!

Going to have to agree to disagree: imo, Cathcart makes Oak sound too congested and young in this trailer, almost akin to his current James take as well as mad-scientist like, while Natochenny makes...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Agreed: it's better to make something your own rather than imitate another's performance in this case, especially since the other dub still exists with its cast running concurrently alongside it...

Re: People that you're hoping get on the site soon?

Oops, just read we meant people who haven't been voice acting, so I guess...yeah, Clint Eastwood to me as well haha.

Re: Who should voice Ms. Frizzle

I've never heard of Nature Cat so I can't comment, but I guess that makes sense.

*sighs* That's a huge relief, actually, I'm very relieved to hear that.

Re: Who should voice Ms. Frizzle

Honestly, I'm hesitant on Kate McKinnon being cast in the role- she does a funny parody of Hillary Clinton on SNL playing off Alec Baldwin's Donald Trump parody, sure, but I've never heard VA work...

Re: Favorite Incarnation of TMNT

I'd say the sheer cheesiness yet lightheartedness of the 1987 Series managed to honestly resonate with me in a way the darker & edgier 2003 Series as well as the mixed interpretation of the 2012...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

I don't know if you still hold the opinion I've bolded, but I agree with this point very much from what little I've seen of the Bang Zoom Super dub thus far. A lot of the cast seem to be going more...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Ray has quite a broad vocal range, impressive stuff: I like how he referred to Tien as "Tenshinhan" as well, his original Japanese name.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Ray Chase's Piccolo sounds a bit flatly delivered at points: to me, it sounds like Chris Sabat's Buu Saga old Z dub Piccolo, but with smoother & controlled delivery right now.

18's normal speaking...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

It'd be pretty amusing if Kaiji Tang manages to convince Wendee Lee (or whoever the BZ dub VA director is) to have Martin Billany voice Frieza in this dub.

Though in all seriousness, I'm also...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Regarding Kaiji's Vegeta, that clip was a huge step up from that gruff mess it was in the second episode, if I'm being honest: pretty good, keep going, there's a lot of potential there, although I...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Same thoughts on pretty much all three, honestly: Roshi's voice could be better, imo, but I guess it could be worse as well.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

I feel like Michael's King Kai is probably the biggest standout here: not sure if I'm changing to him or sticking with Don since I liked both performances, but either works better than Sean's King...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Thanks for the information! I'm listening to it right now...oh my god, Michael King Kai's is WAY better than Sean's performance in the FUNi dub, in this dub, to me. I think Bang Zoom did well with...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Kaiji Tang's Vegeta is...a mixed bag. It's not the worst thing I've heard at all, but it could be a little less forced and gruff: I'd still say I prefer Chris Sabat and Brian Drummond in the role,...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Goku's dub voice is still a bit too low, but it's not bad, I think Lex sounded better (and higher pitched) in the episode preview I saw for the next one than he does here.

Hercule's dub voice is...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

At least Mr. Tang is trying to put his best foot forward here with his Vegeta portrayal- I can't say anything else since we have heard nothing of his actual performance, but the effort is nice.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

I see what you're saying, and frankly, I do think it's important for the creators to have *some* creative input into the English voice work when it comes to the casting decisions. Ocean Recoome was...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

I'm more interested in King Kai's performance than anyone else's, to tell the truth, he's the one character I feel has been severely misinterpreted in dub form so far, so perhaps Bang Zoom will be...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

True. I think that it all depends on the competence of the voice director(s) to cast their actors/actresses, making the correct calls when casting the VAs, giving them suitable dialogue to read that...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

Kaiji Tang as Vegeta sounds interesting...not who I would've cast, but interesting...don't think he'll top Sabat or Drummond for me, though, but we'll see.

Beerus' VA sounded pretty good in that...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

I do think Mr. Rager could've worded it more politely that "I don't care for this alternate dub because X" rather than say "It's sh*t" as well, but he was probably just understandably a little upset...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Bang Zoom Dub Discussion

The casting's appropriate, but I need to hear the actual performance and acting before being sold on it.
