Re: Sega Dream Casts

Upon watching The Fairly OddParents, I would like to suggest Kath Soucie as Tails in a tone similar to Timmy Turner.

Liam O'Brien as Sonic? Interested in hearing how he'd handle that. Was there a character he voiced that served as inspiration for that choice?

Some other good picks in there too, particularly Espio, Eggman, Silver, and Rouge.

Three actually. His Stahn Aileron in Tales of the World, Mugen from Samurai Champloo and Johnathan from Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Sonic should be like Mario. He should have a unique and distinctive voice, and well...like with Roger's Sonic, he rarely ever uses this voice tone. He'd probably have to make it like his Gaara - sound like a kid, only be a little more energetic. It'll be different for him, but I think he'd work very well.

Jon Curry as Shadow was kind of a shot in the dark. I was sorta looking for something like the Japanese version, but for some reason he came to mind. He's got a unique voice quality that kinda sounds...I dunno...it might fit a ageless character like Shadow. Check out his Winter Soldier, and you'll see what I mean.

Re: Sega Dream Casts

Okay, after listening to Stahn and Mugen, I'm surprised. Liam does seem capable enough to do Sonic's voice. It's funny, the guy's got a pretty decent range, but he's usually hired to do that one voice.

Re: Sega Dream Casts

Yeah, and that one voice isn't even his normal voice. XD But, that's a pretty good voice, so...eh. And, like I said, that's kind of a good thing if he ever does get Sonic.

Re: Sega Dream Casts

You know how Jack Fletcher's currently one of the voice/casting directors for the series? I thought up a cast that consists of some of the mainstays of his works during the late '90s/early 2000s.

Sonic: James Arnold Taylor (seriously, he'd be a PERFECT Sonic voice!)
Tails: Debi Derryberry
Knuckles: John DeMita
Amy: Tara Strong
Cream: Sherry Lynn
Big: Brad Garrett
Shadow: Andrew Philpot
Rouge: Cree Summer
Omega: Matt McKenzie
Espio: David Rasner
Charmy: Pamela Adlon
Vector: John DiMaggio
Eggman: Dwight Schultz
Gamma: Alex Fernandez
Silver: Matt K. Miller
Blaze: Paula Tiso
Jet: Tom Kenny
Shahra: Hedy Burress
Erazor Djinn: Roger Jackson
Mephiles: John Rafter Lee

Anyway, here's my cast list for the Sonic the Hedgehog series if Funimation ever got ahold of it:
Sonic and Metal Sonic: Sean Schemmel
Knuckles: Chris Sabat
Tails: Maxey Whitehead
Amy: Luci Christian or Monica Rial
Cream: Brina Palencia
Shadow: Chuck Huber
Eggman: Kent Williams
Rouge: Colleen Clinkenbeard
Espio: J. Michael Tatum
Charmy: Kara Edwards
Vector: Chris Rager
Big: Kyle Hebert (wouldn't need to be changed!)
Omega: Vic Mignogna (also wouldn't need to be changed!)
Jet: Sonny Strait
Wave: Caitlin Glass
Storm: Bob Carter
Gamma: Jeremy Inman
Blaze: Jamie Marchi
Silver: Eric Vale

Dang this is perfect. On another note anyone else notice the title is similar to a now defunct gaming system introduced in the 2000's?

Thanks. It's been a while since I've watched One Piece, Sgt. Frog, or School Rumble, so DBZ is for the most part the extent of my familiarity with Funi VAs. With that said, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out (even though I got lazy for Big and Omega).

And yes, the reference in the thread's title was intentional. The Dreamcast is one of the most underrated systems ever. It died way too young.
