Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy

While not actually The Hub, it's from Boulder Media (a division of Hasbro), so I'll put this in the Hub forum and move it later, if need be.

Here's our first look at Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy, a follow-up series to Rescue Bots. 52, 11-minute episodes will air in 2019.

http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/12/25/f...academy-355879

Included in the cast are: Hot Shot, Medix, Hoist, Whirl and Wedge. Heatwave appears to be filling the Optimus Prime role of "older mentor character who will appear every once in a while". And apparently Optimus himself will also appear, too, as well as other familiar faces from Rescue Bots.

The voice cast will also be entirely new, which I'm happy for. I've been waiting a long time for the franchise to explore more voice pools.

I'm curious to see who they cast for Heat Wave and Prime if this going to be an entirely different voice pool.

D.C. Douglas said the show's going to be using non-union actors from New York.

Chris Phillips and Doug Preis would also be balling, as well as some Muppetteers.

I'm really curious how they'll cast this.

I love the New York talent pool but it also has a lot of shaky voice direction.

Ideally I'd love it if Michael Sinterniklaas or the NYAV Post recording studio was used.

and yes get Dan Green in this.

A Transformers cartoon with New York VA's? Definitely intrigued.

Re: Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy

I think my favourite part of this trailer are the comments, evidently from people who are somehow offended by the fact that Rescue Bots received a follow-up series? Or they're bothered that it's aimed at a younger demographic? Or that they're knee-jerking at Optimus' design, which is, according to them, "gross", "wrong", etc..

Oh gee jolly gee, a Transformers show but this time they're giving it over to NY.

Well count me in...

also pls get Dan Green somewhere, he'd be totally perfect for something like this (though it depends on which studio they chose) not to mention some other NY VA's that normally don't do stuff like this.

Right? Like, it's about time the franchise spread out beyond the LA pre-lay and Ocean group again. Can't wait to start finding out who voices who. :D

Only a matter of time before Texas get's a chance at the Transformers franchise. You'll have the regulars at Funimation stepping up to voice these iconic characters.

If Texas got to do voice-work for a bunch of animated Star Wars short films then anything can happen.

I suspect this will probably be NYAV like Chomp Squad and Hanazuki, so you likely won't hear NYC voice actors in most of the roles.

If it is NYAV I’ll be interested to see how they’ll handle the actors. Maybe we could still see some LA talent on board, just not the ones who worked on the previous series.

Season 1 updates are on the page now.

Gotta' say, I like this a lot more than Cyberverse (and I don't hate Cyberverse). The acting is stronger, the designs are cute, and of course, it's solidly connected to Rescue Bots, so I'm automatically lovin' that.
