Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 12th March 2015 marked the premier of Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew, broadcast on Geek and Sundry channel on Critical role is a show with Matthew Mercer and friends playing Dungeons and Dragons.

The cast for Critical role are:

Matthew Mercer: Dungeon Master
Liam O'Brien: Vax'ildan the Half Elf Rogue
Laura Bailey: Vex'ahlia the Half Elf Ranger (accompanied with Trinket the bear)
Travis Willingham: Grog the Goliath Barbarian
Marisha Ray: Keyleth the Elven Druid
Orion Acaba: Tiberius the Dragonborn Sorcerer
Taliesin Jaffe: Percy the Human Gunslinger
Sam Riegel: Scanlan the Gnome Bard
Ashley Johnson: Pike the Gnome Cleric

For this broadcast, Ashley Johnson wasn't available because she was in London, picking up a BAFTA award, for next time I believe Ashley should be available.

Critical role started with an introduction to the characters, voiced by their respective actor. My favourite intro was Grog, where he said he likes two things, combat, women and ale (yes Grog said he likes two things).

This broadcast lasted around 3 hours. Although it was sometimes hard to follow, since they started playing D&D 2 years ago, it was pretty awesome to actually see it and thanks to Geek and Sundry for making this happen.

After watching the debut, I have to say that Matthew Mercer is god-like as the Dungeon Master. The way he snaps into many characters is a sight to behold. Also, how well he manages to keep track of everything. If I ever wanted to play D&D, Matt Mercer must be the Dungeon Master. The campaigners all had a good time, especially the comedy that was provided by Scanlan. The background music that accompanied the campaign was well done. There were some teething issues with audio, but for a first time stream it was pretty good.

Here's a video made by Ashley Johnson about D&D. (warning, fruity language in this video)

I'll look forward for the next broadcast.

In truth it should be an animated series. I'm thinking of opening a new thread on the subject.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
I'd be a backer if they crowd funded it. It NEEDS to be a animated series.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 19th March was the second edition of Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew. Unfortunately, Ashley Johnson was unavailable so her character Pike the Gnome Cleric has yet to make her debut.

Last week, Scanlan (Sam Riegel) became the surprise hero. Apparently, its his first victory in 2 years of their campaign. The biggest cheer was when Dungeon Master (Matt Mercer) says "how do you want to do this?"

Link to second episode:

Critical Role Episode 2: Into the Greyspine Mines

This week, the audio still had some issues. Scanlan provided the music, with this little number: "Scanlan make you feel good, Scanlan make you feel real good". Grog (Travis Willingham) was trying to trade with a dwarf trader. Vax (Liam O'Brien) tried to trade a Troll's male genital. Unfortunately it was out of stock in their inventory. The campaigners struggled this time against the Umber Hulks. The episode ends with "Save Grog".

I did like the use of a laser pen. This was to show where they wanted to move on the map, especially when in combat.

For next time, will Pike make her debut? Will Grog get saved?

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 26th March was part 3 of their adventure. Pike was absent but there is still hope for her debut. Big story was saving Grog from his intelligence rating of -2.

Critical Role Episode 3: Strange Bedfellows

Highlights: saving Grog, Magic carpet, Tentacle monster. Scanlan highlights include: "I'm super brave and hung". Songs such as "Hey baby hey baby hey dwarf say dwarf say" and "When I get that feeling, I want Clarotta healing"

New hashtag: #SaveClarence

akersaotome 04-03-2015 02:44 PM

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 4th April was part 4 of their adventure. This time they have an ally named Clarotta and most importantly is the debut of Ashley Johnson and her character Pike. Laura Bailey wasn't present for most of it because she was filming with Wil Wheaton.

Critical Role Episode 4: Attack on the Duergar Warcamp (Q&A included)

This week's highlights:

Travis wears "Enjoy Grog" t-shirt, which can be bought here:

Scanlan sings "I didn't see the Vax, cause he's so god (four letter begins with D) stealthy". Inspired from I saw the sign by Ace of Base.

Scanlan quote: "This is straight up Metal Gear"

Keyleth (Marisha Ray) transforms into a Rhinoceros. Because Dungeon Master Matthew didn't a Rhinoceros miniature he used a bear (Trinket). Now he needs to buy more miniatures of animals for Keyleth to be.

To provide inspiration for Pike, Scanlan sings a song to her whilst pelvic thrusting and plays guitar solo with a flute.

new hashtag: #Save Percy

Afterwards there was a Q&A with the people from Critical Role. Only subscribers were allowed to participate in the questioning. This Q&A covered how this all began and the story of Troll male genital.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Geek & Sundry have released a link that has houses the previous episodes of Critical Role. Each episode has a description of the story so its easier to follow. This is a nice edition since navigating through twitch is rather a pain.

Here's the link:

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 9th April was the 5th edition of their campaign. This episode unfortunately does not have Scanlan as Sam Riegel was away. This episode did mark the intro for Ashley Johnson's character Pike, show casing her back story.

Critical Role Episode 5: The Trick about Falling

The embedded video player does have issues as there two overlays covering both the timeline and the controls. Although the video is playable, its not the best quality.

Highlights from this week are:

A toy replica of Castle Grayskull from He-Man is presented as it was kindly donated to Geek and Sundry.

No Scanlan, meaning there were no songs, no pelvic thrusts, no inspiration for Pike.

Travis wears t-shirt that reads "Muscle Wizards cast fist"

Clarotta (Clarence) has something to eat. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a sense of humour as he says "I hate puns!"

Most of the party members experience near death from a very heavy fall. Heavy battle with a lava pit.

Hashtag: #CastleGrayskull

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 16th April was the 6th episode of the story. This had the full cast as last week Sam Riegel was absent. The most notable inclusion from this episode was the live action intro. My favourite was Scanlan as Sam Riegel does what Scanlan would do. Also, Matt Mercer can magically control gravity as he threw dice into the air and stop them from falling.

Critical Role Episode 6: Breaching the Emberhold

Highlights from this week:

Some members were Critical Role related t-shirts.

Pike kisses Scanlan, he doesn't notice.

Scanlan kisses Percy.

Pike reminds everyone that Keyleth killed a child in the past.

Tiberius asks: "what are you doing?" Vax replies: "I'm going to kill someone, hold please"

Tiberius says to everyone: "Encourage violence"

Grog turns into Mortal Kombat mode.

Scanlan sings: "As long as I got my song and flute, Gonna give you some hit points, of our love" inspired from Suit and Tie by Justin Timberlake.

Scanlan notices a buldge in Grog's pants as Lady Kima destroys a dwarf.

Grog asks Lady Kima "would you like to"

Things get very tense between two NPC's.

New hashtag #Encourageviolence

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 23rd April marks episode 7 of Critical Role. Unfortunately Travis Willingham was absent so Grog wasn't around.

Critical Role Episode 7: The Throne Room

This episode managed to stretch close to 4 hours. By far the longest episode and perhaps one of the most intense. Best described as no one makes it out unharmed.

Scanlan sings "we're walking down a hall, nobody's watching us", inspired from Rockwell - Somebody's watching me and "Heal the Vax, make him a better Elf, for you and for me", inspired by Michael Jackson - Heal the World.

Scanlan takes a dump on the guest bed whilst invisible.

Liam O'Brien does an impression of Grog's "I will like to rage". Also "Vax-inate your kids". A PSA by Vax'ildan.

Keyleth becomes a Scorpion.

Tiberius becomes a god.

Scanlan tries to get the Duergar king to do a headstand, but fails.

Scanlan wins and says "you should have stood on your head".

Matt drops down an hour glass.

Trinket the hero.

hashtag #hisbestleg

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 1st May, marked edition 8 of Critical Role. After last week's intense encounter, the group barely made it out of the battle and the lava pouring into the room. Once again Travis Willingham was absent.

Critical Role Episode 8: Glass and Bone

Scanlan suggests to leave Grog, causing an uproar among the group. If they did leave Grog, who would accompany Scanlan to the houses where they pay for lady favours?

Scanlan sings: "Wherever you go, whatever damage they done, we will be right here waiting to heal you". Even Pike joined in. Song inspired by Richard Marx - Right here waiting.

Clarotta and Lady Kima to keep watch as everyone rests. Scanlan asks "what if they start having sex?" (not the actual words used but it means the same). Everyone, including the chat start laughing.

The tension between Keyleth and Lady Kima becomes very frosty.

Vax says "It's not a JRPG". In regards to tentacle monsters.

Trinket turns into a Persian kitten to save weight. The females of the group love it, Trinket not so much.

Scanlan shoots himself in the foot in regards to the gender of an dwarf. Makes himself very popular among the women of the group.

It only takes 5HP (Hit points) to kill a kitten.

Watching Laura Bailey visually upset as Trinket is down.

A new hero gets the "how you do want to do this?"

return of the an old hashtag: #SaveGrog

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 7th May, episode 9 of the adventure. Ashley Johnson was not available, good news was Travis Willingham returns.

Critical Role Episode 9: Yug'voril Uncovered

Scanlan tries to negotiate with Queen Ulara, but doesn't make promises to dogs.

Scanlan whilst giving a teleportation hug to Queen Ulara: "its not you, its me!"

Grog is finally saved.

Scanlan and Lady Kima walk away to talk privately. Scanlan shows off his illusionary third nipple.

Scanlan uses polymorph to grow a gigantic male genital.

Grog sketches Lady Kima as she is changing armour.

Scanlan sings "Uh push it, push it real good" inspired by Salt-N-Pepa's Push it

Keyleth turns into a shark, Grog cannon balls into the cold lake.

Grog rides a shark.

Scanlan sings "I'm on boat" by The Lonely Island.

two hashtags: #sharktoss & #1.5inches

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 14th May, episode 10 of the adventure. Full cast this time where they resume in the face of battle with the undead. Travis Willingham wear's the coolest t-shirt which says "Run D&D", which is inspired from Run DMC.

Critical Role Episode 10: K'Varn Revealed

Grog says "I would like to rage, and run!"

Grog elbows Pike to the face whilst running.

Scanlan rescues Pike and says "Come with me if you want to live", gives her a hug, sniffs her hair.

Pike thanks Scanlan. He replies: "Don't worry, that hard wood is the boat"

Defeated a Cloaker, skinned it.

Scanlan sings: "When you're trying to skin a cloaker, here's some inspiration, when we're on a creepy boat, here's some inspiration" inspired by Chicago - You're The Inspiration

Pike has a snack pouch.

Tiberius sends a letter to his brother, Scanlan puts cologne on it.

Scanlan sings: "Scry, scry, Miss Keyleth scry" inspired by Don McLean - American Pie.

K'Varn form is revealed.

At the end of the show, whilst reading messages, someone posted they were working on a Trinket statue and finished a knife for Vax. Ashley Johnson became jealous as she only got is a twitch emote.

They had a Q&A after the t-shirt sales reached over a 1000 during the broadcast.

Story of Keyleth killing a child revealed in detail.

Sam Riegel asked if he looked like Tim Curry.

Vex and Trinket backstory revealed.

Scanlan fell out of a window for the funniest fail dice role, crashing three stories down.

Origin's of Keyleth's Minxy, which is a Saber-toothed cat.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 21 May, the 11th episode of this campaign and this one was grueling. Episode itself lasted nearly 5 hours.

Critical Role Episode 11: The Temple Showdown

Pretty awesome that the youtube upload is the full broadcast, including Just Dance at the end.

Gifts handed to party members, Laura gets a puppet bear and named it Trinket.

Highlights and there are alot this time:

Pike tells the Fomorian that he is handsome "pi pom pompom pomp"

Fomorian is named Tiny.

Tiberius is massively reluctant to set foot into K'Varn's temple.

Grog headbutts Tiny and wins, no cask of Ale.

Pike says "goodbye my love" to Scanlan, gets excited but Pike says it was from a movie she saw.

Scanlan songs: "Everything is awesome" inspired from Everything is awesome by Tegan and Sara
"You dropped a bomb on me, baby", from You dropped on a me by Gap Band
"So now I come to you with healing words" inspired from Open arms by Journey
"Hey baby, hey baby, hey" inspired from Hey Baby by No Doubt

Tiny turned into a mouse.

Trinket flies on a magic carpet.

Tiny in mouse form drops down, turns back into normal form and now dead. Taliesin, Marisha, Orion and Sam gave diving scores of 10, 10, 4.2, 9.3.

Fight against K'Varn the Beholder.

Grog dies, K'varn says "Who's next?"

Vex gets the "how do you want to do this?"

K'Varn resurrected by the power of Orcus.

Tiberius gets the "how do you want to do this?"

At the end, for reaching over 3000 subs, Geek & sundry played Just Dance. In the studio, Caitlin Glass paid a visit to Critical Role as she was in town. She joined in the fun. Most notably, both Matt and Caitlin with Zac and Erika danced to Dead or Alive's You spin me right round. It was Levi and Petra reunion. Caitlin also took pictures which are on a her twitter page.

Some clips with no sound of Matt and Caitlin dancing:

What I like to see happen is Laura, Marisha, Ashley and Caitlin dance to Bang Bang by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, whilst playing Just Dance 2015.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Special episode on 28th May, where this was a tutorial for playing D&D. Some members of Critical Role turned up. They roped in Dan Casey, Zac Eubank and Ify Nwadiwe. Zac especially was dressed as a unicorn, which was inevitably dry humped by Erika Ishii. Matt spent a large portion doing a tutorial of Dungeon mastering.

Dungeons & Dragons Campaign Tips - Critical Role RPG Show: Episode 12

A short campaign was played with the roped in guests. After the campaign, the legend of the Good, the Rad and the Nubbly was born.

It would have been good if the actors played the NPC's, however Matt was god-like in this campaign.

Thursday 11th June marked the 14th edition of Critical Role.

Sam Riegel was unavailable and both Travis and Laura were in Florida for Metrocon so they used Facetime on the ipad. Finally, geek and sundry are now using youtube to archive Critical Role, in glorious 1080p. Monday's are now the official day when Critical Role is available to be watched outside of geek & sundry twitch channel.

Critical Role | Episode 14: Shopping and Shipping.

Tiberius has his own bag of holding.

Tiberius: "story of my life"

Vox Machina meet the Sovereign Uriel and the Council of Tal’Dorei.

Taliesin/Percy's face changes when the mention of the name Briarwood is said.

Percy catches the Sovereign, asks about the Briarwoods.

Grog asks Lady Kima if she can have relationships, Kima blushes.

Finally, Gilmore's Glorious Goods is on show.

Matt describes Gilmore's attire as a Wizard tracksuit (it at least its not made from polyester)

Gilmore and Vax go on a man-date.

Shopping and bartering as it appears Vex is the accountant of Vox Machina.

Matt was fabulous as Gilmore. No wonder he's a massive hit with the players.

No episode this week as Geek and Sundry are covering events at E3.

25/06/2015 Critical Role: Episode 15 – Skyward

Liam O'Brien was in New Jersey so he participated using skype/facetime.

Party sorting their new armour, Scanlan and Tiberius bicker.

Vex enters an armorsmith to commission new armour for Trinket, using the extracted armour from a Bulette.

Naked Trinket without his armour.

"Whoa, I hear your tinkering, whoa, please do it well" inspired from Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer
"Bigby's hand Bigby's hand, you know it, shamone!" inspired from Michael Jackson - Bad
"Elvish people in the ship tonight, everybody just have a good fight" inspired from LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
"And you miss me, like the deserts miss the rain" inspired from Everything but the Girl - Missing

Pike manages to fully heal Vax's foot.

Percy makes Vex some special arrows, he gets kissed.

Travis roled poorly, Matt replies "enchanted murkin"

Scanlan responds after Vex accuses him for getting a potion to spy on Pike; "I am offended and terrified of the assumption to sink so low, as to spy on my good friend and future wife Pike when her pantaloons are down."

Trinket's new armour is complete. Trinket looks like a Roly Poly (Armadillidiidae).

Tiberius receives encouragement from Vax to talk to Allura.

Vox Machina board the airship Deara, with Captain Damon.

Tiberius takes his staff and cast image capture, to take a selfie.

It is revealed that Matt hates selfie sticks. He doesn't mind selfie staffs.

Trinket boards the airship by being craned. He air paddles.

Pike and Grog at the bow of the airship. With Pike holding Grog by the waist, he says: "I the Goliath of the world!"

Battle on the airship against Wyverns and Griffins.

A poor Wyvern gets turned into a rabbit. Falling rabbit.

Keyleth thrown off the skyship. As she is falling she says : "This is peaceful, this is nice". She ends up turning into a wind elemental and returns to the ship.

Almost kill a halfling named Tira.

Critmas part 2

Matthew Mercer receives a birthday cake.

Laura receiving two Trinket plush toys (big and little). Her reaction was priceless.

Thursday 2nd July 2015. Critical Role: Episode 16 – Enter Vasselheim

Liam O'Brien was still on vacation, so he played whilst on a laptop. Rather sad episode, especially the ending.

Highlights and major spoiler:

Grog grows a beard, includes decorations.

Tiberius teaches math to Scanlan.

Sarenrae, the she-bro you never had.

Tiberius and Scanlan for some reason make references to Phoenix Wright (which they were both in).

Keyleth gets arrested...again. However Lady Kima saves Keyleth: "She's with me!"

Scanlan the Holy-Gnome.

Vax is crushed to the ceiling.

Scanlan sings: "oh oh oh, Shut up and shoot that hole, your arrow is my destiny" inspired from Walk the moon - Shut up and dance

Secondary Tiberius in female form.

Golems arrive and attack the spiders.

Grog's newly grown has been singed. Grog has returned to being smooth.

Destiny calls for Pike.

Real life hits as Ashley has to depart from Vox Machina as she's going to New York to film a live action series.

It was hard to watch as Ashley, Laura and Marisha were tearing up.

No Critical Role for the next two weeks as this week is Comic Con and the week after, Matt and Marisha are off to New Zealand.

After the maths lesson from Tiberius, I wish for a puppet version of Tiberius to appear on Seasame Street to teach young Gnomes mathematics. A segment called "Poppycock Maths!"

Critical Role Episode 18 - Trial of the Take Part 1

Roshambo was used to see who holds the bag.

Contract to slay a White Dragon.

What is a Warg?

Met an NPC named Dagon (named after Marisha's pet Green Cheek Conure)

Backstory with Vex and Zahra.

Scanlan sings: "Boom clap, sound of your gun, the beat goes on and on" inspired from Boom Clap by Charli XCX
: "No I don't want to get hurt, by you" inspired from Wicked Game by Chris Isaak
: "I raise my hand to Lyra and sing, that you could use some Scanlan today, tonight I give a d-10" inspired from Hands To Heaven by Breathe

Scrooge McDuck bag.

Percy in his pyjamas, with a open buttflap.

Trinket kills creatures, Laura rolled good.

Zahra fights and is pretty strong.

Lyra fights and does well.

Lyra declares Sleepy time.

Lyra discusses with Scanlan about herself and Aldore.

Encounter with two frost giants.

Both Mary and Felicia played very well, especially Mary as it was a first time playing D&D. The way she acted her character Zahra was a delight to watch as she was learning how to play. Lyra is best described as adorkable.

Thursday 6th August marked the 19th edition of Critical Role. Second part of the Trial of the take storyline as members of Vox Machina attempt to complete a contract for the Slayers take. Travis Willingham was running late so he doesn't not appear until the second half.

Critical Role Episode 19 Trial of the Take part 2

Geek and Sundry managed to get permission from Obsidian Entertainment to use the soundtrack from Pillars of Eternity.

Laura does her impersonation of Grog (in truth it sounds like a deeper Shin-Chan)

"My cat is your friend" quote from Lyra the human wizard.

Scanlan was suggested to swing on a frost giant male genital.

Lyra vomits and turns to the snow green and brown.

Scanlan levels up.

Backstory of the white dragon named Rimefang.

Scanlan sings: "Ooh you so scary, ooh ooh you so scary, you fightie long time", inspired from Me so horny by 2 Live Crew (I think)
: "When a moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's Aldore", inspired from That's Amore by Dean Martin

Grog rolls like Geordi Laforge from Star Trek.

Trinket the sexy.

Lyra wants to see Aldor's male genital.

The return of Burt Reynolds (cue mass laughter)

Frost giants are named Ace and Gary.

"You leave when Burt Reynolds tells you to leave", quote from Scanlan the gnome bard.

Hellish rebuke.

Lyra kisses Scanlan after he uses seeming to disguise himself as Aldor.

Lyra wishes to spread her wings.

Lyra placed Scanlan into the friendzone.

Quite an amazing episode. Hats off to the guest players in Felicia Day and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. Scanlan summoning the power of Burt Reynolds has such a powerful affect that the entire room was laughing, myself included. The hype of Scanlan's Burt Reynolds is no joke. Although we say farewell for now to the guests, lets hope both Wil Wheaton and Will Friedle can put a show fitting for this storyline of Critical Role.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 13th August, episode 20 and the second half of Vox Machina, where it is Vax, Tiberius, Keyelth and two other guest players. Unfortunately Wil Wheaton was rather ill. This was Will Friedle's first time playing D&D.

Critical Role: Episode 20 - Trial of the Take : Part 3

Grog is refered to buy Vax as a meat shield.

Liam does an impersonation of Grog.

Met a fortune teller.

Wil Wheaton as Thorbir the Dwavern fighter

Will Friedle as Kashaw the Human cleric

Target is a Rakshasa.

"More than twice and you are playing with it", quote from Kashaw.

Team do investigation checks around town, detective style.

Velvet cabaret.

Vax and Keyleth go shopping.

As an alias, Vax goes by the name of Lord Scanlan of the Shorthalt's.

What does Vax's twin sister look like? asked Kashaw.

The Velvet Cabaret is described as a goth club cruise ship.

Team infiltrate the Velvet Cabaret in disguise.

Wheaton's dice rolls bring balance to the world.

The curse of Wil Wheaton dice role.

Boulder rolls down, Indiana Jones style.

More of a grumpy episode hence the hashtag. Matt played an NPC named Vince Seonore (spelling?) which was reminiscent of the character Merovingian from The Matrix Reloaded film. I thought Will Friedle did ok, perhaps it was more for him to get used to playing D&D. The curse of Wheaton's dice role is too powerful. Since this was a more of an investigation episode, some jazz music would have fit the story.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 20th August.

Continuation from part 3. Wil Wheaton was alot better in terms of health. Geek and Sundry got permission from Midnight Syndicate to use their music. Creepy music throughout the episode.

Pretty long episode so brace yourselves.

Critical Role Episode 21: Trial of the Take, Part 4

Fight against rats and an Otyugh.

Wheaton dice roll curse continues.

Thorbir is rat bitten on the grotch.

Kashaw talks with a soul of a corpse.

Kashaw reveals his backstory. Pretty heavy.

Fight a ghost.

Liam imagines Vax and the ghost are doing the scene from the film Ghost where both Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore and the pottery wheel.

Acid room, Wil Wheaton's favourite.

Keyleth makes a heroes' feast, costs 1000G.

The best lasagne.

Johnny Kraghammer.

The legend of Acidpit. (Reference to Aeofel “Al” Elhromane)

Magic carpet RIP, Vex is going to be really mad when she finds out.

Wil finally roles a natural 20. Requests to know the Rakshasa's parents names, social security number, bank account balance and Ashley Madison password.

Magic taint.

Magic moment for Keyleth.

Actor Darin De Paul was a guest at the studio.

Matt gets one awesome present.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 27th August. No Critical Role this Thursday (3rd September) as most of the cast are away.

Critical Role Episode 22: AraMente to Pyrah

This is quite a monster of an episode so best served with food, drink and cushions.

Taliesin was cleansing the table from Wil Wheaton's cursed dice rolls.

Encounter Osysa the Gynosphinx, as she gives the branding.

Sir Darin De Paul (guest from last week) provided some cookies.

Vox Machina reunited

"Scanlan, lift from the legs", quote from Vax

Vex learns news of the magic carpet.

Travis gets a kiss from Laura.

A return of an old friend.

Pike discovers blue faeces.

Girl talk concerning Keyleth's kiss.

Grog demonstrates his brilliant haggling skills.

Tiberius buys a sickly dragonite named Lockheed.

Tyriock (spelling?) the cartographer.

Percy levels up.

Keyleth makes another heroes' feast.

Travelling through a mountain.

Keyleth meets the members of the fire Ashari.

Met the Fire Ashari member named Sakonos (spelling?)

Keyleth's vision.

Dived into the vortex.

Avoided a red dragon named Beast.

Boss battle.

Keyleth earns a sparkstone with the power of Ifrit.

Taliesin gets a special present.

Travis receives a belated birthday gift.

Matt further cements himself as god-like with his performance as Tyriock the cartographer. I seriously hope the character comes back. Better yet, the Tyriock voice for a character in a video game, anime and pre-lay show. Marisha was pretty amazing as Keyleth.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew

8ft Trinket now has cut-out templates for his armour on his head. Liam was late as he had other engagements.

Critical Role Episode 23 THE REMATCH

Scanlan returns to the group after meeting with Zahra the Warlock and explained he attended a slumber party with three other Tieflings.

Grog runs back to the Bellows rest-pit and screams "Kern!"

Kern the Hammer vs Grog the Vengeful

Wrestling moves Grog performed:
Over the shoulder DDT (in truth this is more of a german suplex with a release)
Bane style back-breaker
Curb stomps
Superman punch (Roman Reigns style)

Martial arts moves Kern performed:
Roundhouse kick
Taekwondo Jump Spin Crescent Kick
Flip kick (style of Paul Phoenix from Tekken but botched)
1 inch punch

"Break it off like a chicken!" shouts Tiberius

Scanlan sings: "Its the eye of the Goliath, its the thrill of the fight, rising up to the challenge of that a**hole", inspired by Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
"With your arms and your fists, and your legs and your wrists, its in your hands, in your hands", inspired by The Cranberries - Zombie

Grog unleashes Relentless rage

Vex lifts up her shirt and shouts "I love you Grog!", for inspiration. But it doesn't work.

Grog the victorious

Burt Reynolds, esquire

Victor the black powder merchant

Sampson the Ore merchant

Visit Earth Breaker Gruun.

Kainan, son of Herold the Butcher, a fan of Vox Machina.

Mercer's magic mullet. Matt very quickly disputes it as his hair is certainly not a mullet.

The rematch was while worth the wait. Good for Travis for taking that decision to return to the bellows rest-pit. Vex flashing got the biggest pop in the bellows rest-pit. Scanlan activating Burt Reynolds mode was too funny. The black powder merchant is among my favourite NPC's that Matt has performed. The announcement that the Briarwoods will be making an appearance was pretty hype. All eyes will be on Percy.

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 17th September was the 24th episode of Critical Role. Big news of the the arrival of the Briarwoods coming to Emon.

Announced that they will be at New York Comic Con, with full party.

Critical Role Episode 24: The Feast

Percy's backstory revealed

Dr Ripley, Professor Anders, Sir Stonefell, part of the Briarwoods posse.

Julius, Vesper, Cassandra, siblings of Percy

Gilmore returns

Scanlan literally sings Sherry by The Four Season & Frankie Valli to Sherry. She likes it. The only change Scanlan sings was "you're with a gnome"

Scanlan sings with Percy "Do you want to build a machine gun, why yes I really do" inspired from Disney's Frozen - Do You Want to Build a Snowman

To resurrect the Magic carpet, it would cost 50k of gold and one year wait.

Trinket gets decorated by Vax and Keyleth with pink ribbons and braids.

Jenga as a safe word.

Vax shaves Grog's beard half off.

Travis breaks a mechanical pencil.

Percy creates a glove called "Diplomacy"

Grog's choice of formal wear is a toga made from curtains.

Tiberius asks out Allura on a date.

Lord Silas and Lady Delilah Briarwood, they have no children

Scanlan and Tiberius perform Cantina Theme from Star Wars

"Don't worry, you look delicious", quote from Lord Silas Briarwood

"I regret nothing" says Liam O'Brien

Tiberius intro count: 8.5 times.

"Hello my name is Tiberius Stormwind, I'm from Draconia" needs to be a t-shirt

Slow build but became super intense at the end. Percy will have to wait abit longer. If there was a need to have cast actors to play both the Briarwood couple, my choices are Crispin Freeman as Lord Silas Briarwood and Kari Wahlgren as Lady Delilah Briarwood.

akersaotome 09-29-2015 07:48 AM

Re: Critical Role: D&D with Matt Mercer and crew
Thursday 24th September, the Briarwoods are in Emon for a formal dinner. To learn more about them, Vax infiltrates into their room; only for them see him. As Vax is unable to move lord Briarwood says: "you look delicious".

Critical Role Episode 25 - Crimson Diplomacy

Sam gets a massive beer stein.

"It makes me look cute" quote from Sam Riegel

"Gosh you guys are good looking" quote from Vax

Keyleth in Eagle form gives a servant an avian payload (bird poop)

Delilah lands on her coxis

"The universe is random and doesn't care about you and me" quote from Liam O'Brien

Vax'ildan split second monologue

Kit Buss joins the frey

Lillith the Tiefling makes an appearance.

"Silas!" shouts Percy

"The puppy yet lives" quote from Lord Briarwood

Scanlan sings: "Oh that Vax elf, bitten by Vampires, and his skin's turning pale and white, but don't worry, is around the corner, here comes Scanlan everything's gonna be alright" inspired from Mack the knife by Bobby Darin
: "Hey there Delilah won't you listen to me, cos I'm about to cast a spell on you" inspired from Hey there Delilah by Plain White T's
: "Can you feel the blood tonight" inspired from Can you feel the love tonight by Elton John

Tiberius the giant Lizard

Scanlan the shield

The Briarwoods take their leave

Percy the interrogator

Lillith the cousin of Zahra

Heaving bosoms

Lizard Tiberius licks Vox Machina

Cleric Tristan

Vax the apologetic

Lillith Daturai

The Broker

"I hope her face still festers" quote from Lillith

Grog uses Penelope

"Your soul is forfeit! Die! DIE!" quote from Percy

Running old lady

Orion elbows Marisha on the funny bone.

Liam and Laura sing "Scanlan make you feel real good"

Scanlan whistles "The lonely man"

Lillith's back story.

Pretty amazing stuff that happened on Critical Role. Intense stuff with Vax as his monologue was one of the highlights; seeing both Marisha and Laura tearing up. Awesome that Kit Buss took part in this episode with her character Lillith. I thank Taliesin for his performance as Percy as this has become a turning point in his character. The Briarwoods are extremely powerful and I believe they'll be appearing alot more in the future. Critical role reached a new high in viewers for its live stream; peaking at 17k.

Now I want to see a 3D action video game, Platinum games-esque, starring Vox Machina and the some of the boss characters are the Briarwoods. The action will be over the top, high octane where violence is encouraged. The game's playable characters consist of all members of Vox Machina and the guests players from the trial of the take story arc. DLC characters will be Vox Moronica, Lillith Daturai and other future guest players.

To make up for the absence of Taliesin, a side quest was set up. Thankfully, Vox Machina decided to take it up and it turns out to be one of the funniest side quests I have seen in any medium. Never thought I see the day when Matt Mercer, a god-amongst DM's, as an NPC cow; even to go as far as chewing like a cow.

Keyleth's water elemental speech, translated by Taliesin

Good bye horses

Keyleth has a heart to heart with Percy

Not many funny moments for this episode as Vox Machina plan to enter Whitestone, home of the Briarwood's. The episode was dominated by shopping, especially from Tiberius. Grog/Travis was extremely bored and it showed on his face. Nice to see Tiberius sending letters to this father. Too bad the letter ended with "as mere poppycock". The biggest intrigue now is the voice in Percy's head. This Thursday's episode should be more action packed and there is hope for Travis/Grog not to be bored.

The live broadcast showed highlights of the special D&D with actor Vin Diesel during the break. The rebroadcasts however did not show the D&D game through no fault of Geek and Sundry. Thankfully, an extended showing of D&D with Vin Diesel is available on youtube on the geek and sundry's channel. The episode of Critical Role was pretty gruesome, especially the gallows tree. Percy's idea for a rebellion sounds pretty awesome.
