    Say, you should check this:

It's a pretty neat documentary. And yes, the recording director is Alan Dinehart.

Yes. BOTP was done in 1977. Here's an article about the recording of the show, along with a very neat (but very small) pic of the cast members recording:

The fact that this dub was done ensemble is what sells it for me, because I like it when things are done ala old time radio (which is something that I really miss nowadays, especially in dubs).

My favorite dub of all time it's the Battle of the Planets dub (followed quite closely by the 60s Astroboy, 60s Kimba, 60s Speed Racer and the 2001 RID dub). Like the 60s dubs, it was done ensemble and it used mostly radio veterans.

The recording director was Alan Dinehart (who directed Orson Welles as the Shadow and was also the director of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends).

Well you can check out the first episode here (oh, and yes, that's the SuperFriends narrator you hear in the intro):

    Part 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0kRLg_xmtM)

    Outro (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGuNjzwSPyg)

    Featuring the voices of:
Alan Dinehart (the director of the dub) as Tiny
    Casey Kasem as Mark
Keye Luke as Zoltar and the Spirit
    Ronnie Schell as Jason
    Janet Waldo as Princess
    Bill Woodson as the Announcer
Alan Young as 7-Zark-7 and Keyop

Indeed. He was just a genius of the Golden Age of Radio.

Speaking of radio actors, I really wished that if the original Transformers cartoon had continued and Unicron spoke there, they had cast William Conrad (the Lone Ranger in the 1980 Filmation cartoon) as Unicron.

Here are two clips of Conrad (he plays Denethor in the first one, and he plays the Fatman in the second):
