Hey, don't mean to bother you or anything, but I saw that you actually like the 1999 Hunter X Hunter series even more than the 2011 series, there are times where I do too, really depends on what I'm more in the mood for.

Just wondering, what do you think of the English dub? Am I alone in thinking it's not as bad as most other people make it out to be? It definitely has its flaws like Elinor Holt and Cheryl McMaster being misdirected as Gon and Kurapika, but I feel most of the others were good, the standouts for me being Jonathan Love as Leorio, Adam Hunter's Kite, Brendan Hunter's Hisoka, Carol-Anne Day's Menchi, Lucas Gilbertson's Hanzo, and Victor Atelevich's Illumi.

I'll check it out later then!

Speaking of New York VAs, while I'm enjoying most of the voices they gave to some of the older characters in Heroes. I can't help but wonder what they would've sounded like with NY VAs as well weirdly enough? Like I love Yuri Lowenthal as Eliwood, but I could also see Greg Abbey doing the role justice. And I could totally hear Wayne Grayson as Seliph, and Eric Stuart as Lewyn just to give a few more examples haha. You get where I'm coming from?

Wayne Grayson pretty knocked every line he was given out of the park, IMO!

I also agree with it being the strongest dub-wise. Eric Stuart and Darren Dunstan pretty much stole the show here MO. Although the other performances were great as well.

I recall reading some of the Battle City manga actually. But not Duelist Kingdom however. Is it good?

Haha yeah they did definitely have the most fun writing his dialogue, either him or Joey really XD.

But yeah, I think there are a few lines that imply that Dub!Kaiba did actually believe in it. Just that he didn't want to admit that he did, which was an interesting direction to go in I suppose.

Also, rewatching some of Season 1 in both Japanese and English, made me realise that it's honestly my favourite part of the whole show. Just everything about it was so... fun you know? The start of it was a bit rushed I suppose. But everything else was solid IMO. Still love the rest of the show mind you, but I'm curious as to what you think of the first season?

GreenGoblin shared this with me, so I figured I'd share it with you as well because it's freaking hilarious XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nvo8M7BBcQw

IIRC Kaiba's denial of magic wasn't really in the JP dub that much? (I actually watched the subbed version as well back in the day, and I don't remember him being AS stubborn about it at least haha.)

Good to know I've met someone who thinks similarly/on my wavelength here.

Agreed on all fronts: awesome, at least "Dark Side of Dimensions" is faring FAR better than the (imo, awful) Arc V dub has!

I agree: to me, the three most important things I need in a dub are good voice acting, proper script adapting (some liberties are fine, but too many and/or dumbing down ones are not), and the retention of the Japanese music (at least most of it, though some is better than none as well).

I'm a lot more lenient on editing/censoring than most, that being said, although obviously I don't approve of it and would rather see things Uncut visually, but the first three criteria matter more to me than anything.

Thanks! I think it's important to leave music intact and respect the creator's wishes in general!

I think it was probably case 2 for me actually, but case 5 was also very memorable. I think the main villain in that case is probably my favourite in the entire series. Either him or the one from Ace Attorney Investigations 2 really.

Shadows of Valentia was definitely a pleasant surprise. But I get the feeling that it may end up making me dislike the Valm Arc in Awakening even more weirdly enough... Because I always felt the way they handled that part of the game wasn't really ideal honestly.

So how do you feel about all the new FE content we're getting this year? I'm looking forward to it myself! Getting to characters like Narcian and Ogma voiced is so weird, yet so awesome st the same time haha.

But yeah, I just finished case 5 again, and it's interesting because the tone of that case's writing is actually pretty similar to JFA and the later games, as opposed to the first 4 cases.
