    Seems that way.

Here you have quite possibly one of my top favorite episodes of the old Turtles cartoon:

  2. Starscreamsfan
Holy moly, amazing how the direction can make a difference. He definitely sounds better here.
  3. Starscreamsfan
Well, personally, I felt he was a little bit too stiff, plus, I'm not a big fan of the idea of Boba being a clone of Jango Fett (I know Daniel Logan plays this version, but I prefer to think that this is not a Jango clone). So yeah, not a fan of that version. But hey, that's just my opinion.
  4. Starscreamsfan
Yeah, his Rat King was boss. He was so enjoyably hammy and over-the-top in the earlier seasons, and yet he sounds pretty sinister and menacing in this episode.
  5. Starscreamsfan
Like I said, the performance was good, it's just that the voice was distractingly unfitting, but other than that, solid in terms of performance.

Here's another episode that I liked a lot:

I think they used the Rat King quite well in this one, plus, we get to see more development for Krang. Bill and Pat really interact quite nicely with each other in this episode. And we also get to see the Turtles doubting their own abilities.
  6. Starscreamsfan
Yeah, it's sad, 'cause this is where they made Shredder and Krang credible threats. Also, I think Bill does fit Red Sky Shredder perfectly, 'cause he sounds more ruthless and bloodthirsty, whereas Avery would have been a little bit too light for this particular version.

Yeah, well, Towny's Mikey in these seasons is actually pretty similar to the 2003 version in terms of personality.

    That would be amazing.

The only performance I don't like in the 2003 series is Splinter. His performance is solid, but the voice is pretty forced. Most the others were great, however. Wayne did a good impression of Towny while still making the character his own, Scottie was an excellent Shredder and Veronica was a pretty sweet April.
  7. Starscreamsfan
Yeah, this is actually from the so-called "Red Sky" seasons. What's sad though is that Shredder and Krang only appear in seven episodes during these seasons (four in season 8, three in season 10).

And yes, the intro was pretty cool.

Well, Bill explained in an interview he did shortly before his death (http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/...ad.php?t=16490) that there were times in which he wouldn't sound like James Avery and the director (Sue Blu) would stop him and they would do a pickup line later on, which could be the main reason for the inconsistent delivery, but when he shines, he absolutely shines.

I like Towny's Mikey (and I've actually heard teenagers with that type of voice), but eh, to each his own.

Ray was excellent as the Ultrom Shredder. I really felt he fit that particular version perfectly, sounding menacing and foreboding.

Say, mac. I decided to share some of my favorite episodes of the classic Turtles cartoon. You may see why Bill Martin is my favorite Shredder:

IMO, Bill didn't just kept Avery's essence, but he also made the character his own and he also managed to sound more ruthless and cold-hearted than his predecessor. Plus, he has great chemistry with Pat Fraley's Krang.
  9. Zillah
He sounded pretty cool. Yeah his screaming wasn't great, but I liked the sound of his voice.
  10. TylerMirage
Well, I only gave my top couple of choices.
