I'm very grateful that he has fans that understand his humor so well, and use it to great effect in these tributes. It's helping to hold me over while waiting for the next episode.
Some of Jon's fans have made some fanmade Machinima's inspired by his work over the last year. Not sure if you've seen any of them, but they're worth watching. The first one's a parody of his stuff in general with extra emphasis on his earliest and most embarrassing work, one's based off of a goofy, satirical thing he wrote about the Machinima censorship fiasco, and one is about him playing a game with members of the Arby 'n' the Chief Discord.
I didn't pay super close attention to the details of the tree incident, but I agree. Things suck for him right now.
I'm also kind of concerned for him. I think his perfectionist tendencies, stress, and guilt over not putting out content are going to drag him down eventually.
I hope he actually does manage to get a decent, consistent job outside of Patreon. If he's not living off of Patreon to the extent that he does and he's not dealing with the constant pressure and guilt, I have a feeling it will actually improve his quality of life and his productivity.
Seeing the emotions he's going through here kinda hurts. Especially when he's afraid that someone he had a good work relationship with might see him in a negative light after reading the character bio and story details he sent. Depression and anxiety is a b*tch.
I have been a little wary about this season lately, but after this... I have to cut him some slack and wait to see what he does with this episode.
Spending all the time he has on this season only to lose a crucial component that could make the whole thing fall apart is a nightmare scenario. I'm sure there's someone out there who can fill the role, but that would still be a tremendous blow to one's morale.
Turns out that Khail Anonymous dropped out of reprising Adam. Jon emailed him a while back asking him if he was still up for it, Khail said yes, but when Jon gave him detailed info on Adam's backstory since season 6 and now, as well outlining how Adam's changed and his motivations and actions in season 8, Khail changed his mind.
It sounds like Adam is so messed up in this season that either Khail wasn't comfortable with it, or he's afraid that being involved with it this time around could land him in some controversy, possibly even putting him in bad standing with his employers or something like that.
According to Jon, Adam is due to appear and speak in episode 13.
So... as you can imagine, he was stressed to high hell over this. He talked about in his latest podcast episode. He looked and sounded so anxious while talking about it, almost like he could cry. He's opened up emergency auditions for a new voice actor.
Reviewing the expansion pack voices for Kha-Beleth. I think we agreed that this was Bob Joles. At risk of sounding very stupid, would you agree that this (1.07) is someone else? May want to turn the volume up on the second.
