01-11-2017huzaifa_ahmedThere's no "game dub rate", JP own the consoles & there isnt a need to create a separate rate to dub imports. Which is why you see a ton of VAs not in anime, in union game dubs. KH's an exception as its a Disney copro & they pay 2*scale according to Kirk. Cheaper dubs usually just goes non-union if need be (even that pays >anime, explains DC & Gideon's absence. Mercer has a pay rate video, if u like). Naruto's full of union-only folks, & apparently Bandai Namco feels the games sell enough that it's dub continuity is worthy of giving the games that treatment. This keeps some of the bigger names around I think.
Also, Fred started on Naruto in 2005, only a few years of being pro. Although Shippuden (2009) was a new contract & he'd gotten established by then. He's got easily 500+ more roles since 2009, though...I'd be legit overjoyed if he was in anything besides that Scientology propaganda anime tho...I figure that paid animation rate, just like (for VAs, not the celebs) Ghibli dubs. -
01-11-2017huzaifa_ahmedOn Fred Tatasciore & the Naruto dub...
As for Fred being here, I think a budget similar to or possibly a bit better than the Fate Zero dub might suffice honestly. The Naruto anime dub's budget is lower actually, it's better than most anime dubs but FZ I imagine tops it. The FZ dub, like Naruto's, paid the common union dub rate of $64.25/hr+$21.50/episode. FZ just had a ton of studio time according to Tony's AfterBuzz interview. They & Tiger & Bunny took a lot more time polishing it up, which is understandable as they are very short series. Fred just (1) doesnt have a massive part, & (2) the video games paylike a mainstream game, which is why Nolan & Josh were in some, & Fred had bigger parts.
