Agreed. I'm hoping that enough people will (constructively) speak up about this and he'll work out the issues there. Jon seems so anxious when people don't like something, but this is really not that big of a deal. Working on his pacing and making scenes a little more concise is something he could handle way more easily than, say, putting out an episode with an enormous plot hole and then having to doing major damage control in the next episode to patch things up.

I think one of my biggest issues with it can be summed up by comparing two scenes.

Remember that scene in season six when Chief and Arbiter were briefly Tosers, and they encountered that player who was saying the N word? Compare that to the scene of the two of them arguing with that whiny, sensitive player and the Toser in the latest episode.

Jon obviously made both of those scenes to make a kind of social commentary, but he was able to make his point with that scene in season six with far more natural writing, and it was just as long as it needed to be. He's come a long way with his cinematography, but I think he's lost his touch in other areas, and I'm kind of worried that he's not going to make use of the criticism he's been getting.

There have been others here and there bringing up these problems. One guy was talking about it during the stream, but Jon seemed to kind of write him off because he perceived him as not giving him credit for anything good he did in the episode. And because such a small minority bring it up, even on the videos, I feel like he's not going to make any attempt to try to improve on his pacing.

He did say that he had a lot of things to set up in this episode, which is true, so hopefully things will pick up from now on, but I don't know.

    No problem.

I thought the story content itself was good, but I think he's seriously lost his sense of pacing and flow. It was over 140 minutes, but I think he could have made as much plot progression as he did in just an hour if he trimmed things down here and there.

Also, I felt like the political/social satire was way too on the nose and discussed in too much unnecessary detail. His older stuff had really on-the-nose writing as well, but the difference was that it was all played up for laughs. Nowadays, it feels awkward for him to be taking everything so stone-faced serious one minute, and then throw in comical left wing/right wing caricatures the second. It causes serious tonal inconsistency, and the satire doesn't feel as potent as it should because it was dragged out longer than it needed to be.

I feel that if he had made everything more concise and snappy, it would have been an engrossing watch, but there were times where I was practically groaning.

Jon's streaming right now. He's playing episode 12 again, and after that will be the premiere of episode 13. I'm excited to hear the new Adam.

One last thing about this particular situation and I'm done for now. Samantha had also made a Facebook post talking about her own personal involvement with the investigation that happened. So far, she's the only person I know who gave her own personal account of being involved with the investigation and giving testimony. And after that, people were quick to point to her as some kind of proof that the investigation was legitimate, professional, and thorough.

http://archive.is/V3ON9 (she deactivated Facebook after her hoax was discredited and it wasn't archived in time, so this is the next best thing)

If she had stopped after that post, she might have had some credibility and given people some confidence in the investigation, but no, she had to go and fake getting swatted with photos she had on her timeline from less than three years ago. What a genius.
