Yeah, definitely. Although, I found Hughes a lot more likeable in 2003. He got a tad annoying or jerkish for my tastes in Brotherhood. Might just be me that thinks that. LOL
The last episode he was in, in Brotherhood made up for the earlier characterization though.
I'm really starting to like Brotherhood. I've gotten up to the beginning of the Ed & Ling vs Envy fight. After the first 10 episodes which I thought were kinda meh, it just got better and better.
Oh yeah, I actually do remember that! And yeah both versions did a nice job at making Mai pretty strong from the sound of things... And didn't Yami Marik keep electrocuting Joey with that Eel monster for example? (along with other things, including even getting hit by an Egyptian God) I remember that being a pretty big moment for Joey as well, even Kaiba had to acknowledge how tough he was after the end of it. I always wanted him to win that duel so bad tbh, haha.

Wow... to be honest part of me wishes that they tried to leave more of his darker side in. However at the same time I can understand why they wouldn't want material like that in the show really.
Also. How do you feel about Marc Diraison in Fire Emblem Echoes as Conrad? I'm really excited myself, because it also means the dream of him playing Sigurd one day is alive! Haha.
Season 0 Yami was a LOT more morally ambiguous in comparison to the later versions of the character, that's for sure. Although Yami does still decide that winning is more important than Kaiba's life in the anime during their second duel, which I recall being rather shocking the first time I saw that honestly.
Yeah, especially considering how great his voice for Bakura's Father was. Regardless it was nice hearing him again!
I think I've also heard that the manga is a lot darker than both the Japanese and English versions of the anime as well? But yeah that's interesting that Duke challenges him for the puzzle instead of Marik!
I didn't know that actually! Easter Eggs like that are always interesting IMO. And I thought that Marc did a great job in that scene as always! His Duke sounded a bit off though, however its been a WHILE since he last voiced the character so you can't expect him to sound 100% the same really haha.
