I love Rosalina, she is one of my favorite Mario characters. She's also the best female Mario character ever.

Depending on what games she's, depends on the voice that suits.
Kerri is great for competitive games like Smash Bros and MK.
Whereas Laura is more suited to more laid back games.
Mercedes was good in Galaxy as it was her first appearance. She sounds more mysterious.

I'm hoping they let Laura Faye Smith do more voice work as Rosalina. Reusing her MK8 voice is just not working for the character and makes her sound annoying for no apparent reason.

As much as I miss Mercedes, I gotta admit that Kerri was good and that Laura did a great job on 3D World, Super Mario Maker and Mario Tennis.

I wouldn't have a problem with the voice change if it weren't for the fact that Rosalina's voice flip-flops between Kerri Kane and Laura Faye Smith every other game.

@NCZ Looks like they can't decide who they like better, so Nintendo just has them take turns.

Her 1st voice was Perfect , her second one was alright , and the third one is... Ok. Seriously , what are they thinking? That Rosalina is just some Random valley girl? they need to get her voice Right in the future m otherwise she won't have the same appeal she used to have.

@Swiftie Muggle In all fairness, a fast-paced kart racer and the most bubbly Mario platformed since 64 and Sunshine aren't really going to allow Rosalina to continue her mysterious shtick. I like that they're allowing to be more fun; it makes her a more believable character and a fitting part of the Mario universe. Keeping her constantly stoic would make her into just another one of those dime-a-dozen "emotionless girl" stereotypes.

@NCZ It's perfectly ALRIGHT if she has fun and gets exited ,since Mario Kart is all about that so it can fit ; But Rosalina as a character needs to keep her consistency when it comes to her personality , She was not portrayed as emotionless , she was portrayed as a Mature woman , what she is. She is also ''out of this world'' and that's what made her special . Peach and Daisy have unique personalities and unique voices that match those personalities ; Rosalina did have too , but now they are treating her like a generic character that's just there because whatever. I don't hate her new voice , but it totally destroys her older , more likeable and less generic , self , for a Mario character ; the world were ''hapiness'' is generic , that's why Rosalina standed out , because she was quiet , mature and relatable , both as a Mother and as emotional character that actually displayed those melancholic emotions.

@Swiftie Muggle I completely agree.

@NCZ Yeah, but that's what makes her unique from both Peach and Daisy who are already really happy. Now Rosalina's too. She was happy in the Wii era, but in her own way. Now she's way too happy, but I respect Laura's job and it's quite decent.

@Azura It makes her different from them, but it doesn't make her different from all the other instances of the "emotionless girl" archetype :V

In a way I can see how it'd be funny for Rosalina to be an emotionless character in an upbeat world, I agree, but the minimalist nature of Mario's characterization means that such a thing would probably fall flat in a platformer or kart racer or sports game. Maybe if they put her in a Paper Mario or M&L game which emphasize comedic dialogue and situations the writers could do something with such a concept though.

At the very least having a portrayal where she seems to be enjoying herself makes her feel less like a living cliche and more like a living character.

@NCZ So basically , to avoid her being a cliche , its ok to make her be yet another cliche. Thats basically what you are saying and its terrible i must say. Not to sound likea hater , but considering that the Mario characters barely have any portrayal or speeches , the sounds they make are very proper to the characters , even more when most have only 1 voice ever since the 2000´s so they stay iconic , like Mickey Mouse. Rosalina is ok now , but was totally better in the past and sounded just like her bios and description said. Besides , its not that the voice itself is so bad , its just that it doesnt fit , if someone else cared enough to actually see how Rosalina behaves Inside the games they will notice how expressionless she mostly is , so is she in her renders , why would she have a serious face (like she does 80% of the time) and then start WHooooi-ing while being expresionless , it just doesnt make sense and doesnt fit , thats like having Bayonetta , a grown woman , being voiced by Carrie Savage in her usual squeaky voices.

I'm not too fond of video game companies continually replacing their character VAs.

@Dogman15 At least they've been consistent with Mario himself (as well as other characters) and at LEAST they aren't nearly as bad as Sega.
