Kylie Brown deserves to win this time
said at 12:52 PM on Sun Jun 10 2018
Kylie Brown deserves this award! Need further proof? She came into Life is Strange as the VA to play Rachel Amber, a character who was previously just a plot device in Life is Strange S1, & turned her into the entire communities’ favorite character in this beloved franchise. Who else can claim to have made such a feat?

My picks:

Best Male Performance-Kyle McCarley, he did such a good job with 9S transistion from naive onlooker to the assertive "I'm gonna do what I want" character.

Best Female Performance-Catrin-Mai Huw, love the accent for Nia! Would not have pictured Nia having a voice like that but it really added to what could've been a trope character.

Best Male Supporting Performance-Robbie Daymond, he did a great job with all attributes of Akechi. Especially love how majority of the time I wanted to reach into my tv and slap him due to his passive-aggressive belittling remarks.

Best Female Supporting Performance-Dorothy Fahn, love Dorothy and she gets into character so well whenever she pops-up in a game/show.

Best Ensemble: Fire Emblem Echoes. I'm so glad they have gone this direction with series. I need all of the games to have full voice acting now! Brings so much to the experience.

I made an account just to vote for all the Xenoblade 2 voice actors and actresses.

Fire Emblem Echoes is nothing without Ian Sinclair as Berkut. I will physically fight anyone in nothing but a fundoshi and coconut bikini top if they think otherwise.

Oh God, why are they making me choose between Nier: Automata and Fire Emblem Echoes. Both those games had spectacular performances.

Now, I haven't played most of these games, and I hadn't played ANY of the ones for the supporting role categories, so my votes are totally biased. With that in mind, let's go over who I DID vote for:

Best Male Performance: Lex Lang as Dr. Neo Cortex (Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy) - I haven't played N-Sane Trilogy yet, but I've heard Lang's Cortex, and it's TOP NOTCH. He really sounds like a goofy evil mastermind!

Best Female Performance: Christine Marie Cabanos as Amitie (Puyo Puyo Tetris) - Amitie is supposed to be a bubbly character, and Cabanos NAILS it! She's just SO HAPPY!

Best Male Support Role: Sahr Ngaujah as Doomfist (Overwatch) - While I'm upset that Terry Crews didn't get to play Doomfist, Ngaujah's performance (or at least what I've heard of it) sounds like a very reasonable voice for such a character. It's a different take than what we expected, but that's okay.

Best Female Support Role: Did not vote for anyone. Sorry! I had no idea what they sounded like!

Best Ensemble: Puyo Puyo Tetris - Okay, so I ADORE this game as a puzzle game, but the overall quality of the voices is nothing short of amazing. All the characters sound EXACTLY like you'd expect them to, and all of the cast pack so much energy into their voicework. Special mention to Erica Mendez for her voice of Arle, and to Benjamin Diskin for his voice of Sig and Lemres.

That's all I have to say! Good voice work all around. Hopefully I'll see you next year!

Kyle worked so hard, Think he deserves this one...

Anthony Ingrubers Joker deserves all the praise and regonition possible! Telltale and Anthony really knocked it out of the park with this new, lovable, and interesting version of Joker!
said at 10:22 AM on Sat Jun 9 2018
Jeff Schine as Javier is my pick! 👊🏽

Best Male Lead: Luke Allen-Gale
Best Female Lead: Claudia Black
Best Supporting Male: Ian Sinclair
Best Supporting Female: Bresha Webb

My votes go to:

Best Male Vocal Performance: Max Mittelman as Ryuji Sakamoto

Best Female Vocal Performance: Erica Lindbeck as Celica

Best Male Vocal Performance in a Supporting Role: Ian Sinclair as Berkut

Best Female Vocal Performance in a Supporting Role: Cherami Leigh as A2.

Best Vocal Ensemble: Despite still being extremely disappointed with the way Danganronpa V3 ended up I'm giving this to Fire Emblem Echoes.

Best Male Vocal Performance:
Oh my. Favourite performances from the bunch include Lex Lang as Cortex in probably one of his best performances as the character to date (next to Twinsanity), Al Weaver as Rex (though the voice direction held him back in terms of battle cries and yells I still think he did a pretty good job), the always entertaining Max Mittelman as Ryuji, Anthony Ingruber as The Joker and Yuri Lowenthal as Haseo.

But my vote is without a doubt going to Kyle McCarley as 9S. Such a chilling, sad and emotional performance and tons of chemistry between Kira Buckland's character too. Wendee Lee's voice direction worked wonders with the game and it really proved there.

Best Female Vocal Performance:
Favourites from this bunch are Catrin Mai-Huw as Nia, Claudia Black as Chloe Frazer, Debi Derryberry as Coco and Melina Juergens as Senua.

My vote goes to Erica Lindbeck as Celica. Once again another great performance from yet another Wendee Lee directed dub, man did she really knock it outta the park last year.

Best Male Vocal Performance - Supporting Role

Oh lordy, this one's gonna be hard to choose. Anyways my favourite performances here include Robbie Daymond as Goro, Sahr Ngaujar as Doomfist, John Hopkins as Erend, Ray Chase as Eve, Liam O'Brien as Gollum and Greg Chun as Adam.

But gaaawd my decision is a one way tie between both David Menkin and Ian Sinclair who both gave astonishing performances as Malos and Berkut. Sinclair is just so menacing and threatening in the role, a powerful force to be reckoned with.

And Menkin.... Man the end of the game where he's going all out, he almost reaches Xenoblade 1 levels of voice acting, it's insane.

It's a close pick and a tough decision but overall I have decided to choose David Menkin.

Best Female Vocal Performance - Supporting Role

While I'm not too familiar with some of these games like Prey and Wolfenstein my favourite performances from this batch are Bonnie Gordon as Silque, Dorothy Elias-Fahn as Rinea, Kirsty Mitchell as Morag, Sarah Anne Williams as Jess and Xanthe Huynh as Haru.

My vote however is going to Cherami Leigh as A2.

Best Vocal Ensemble

Out of all the categories of this award this is always the hardest for me to choose and well, the folks at BTVA have done it again.

So many guest voice casts that I enjoyed but alas there can only be one vote.

Before I vote here's a quick summary of some of my favourites:

The Cup of Tea trio (and Puyo Puyo Tetris):
Man, Cup of Tea was seriously on fire last year with their amazing dubs.

.hack//GU was an absolute treat especially with Volume 4 featuring the return of many of the actors including Bridget Hoffman, Steve Blum and especially Dave Wittenberg returning to these video game dubs. Yes, Volume 4 was incredibly short but it was fun while it lasted.

If there was an award for Best Voice Director of the Year then Wendee Lee would have instantly gotten my vote because oh, did she do an amazing job with both NieR: Automata and Fire Emblem Echoes, both up there as some of the best this year.

Puyo Puyo Tetris was also a very enjoyable fare too.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 conjured up a nice display of UK talent such as David Menkin, John Schwab, Sean Barrett, Kerry Shale, Rasmus Hardiker, Andres Williams, Emma Tate, Teresa Gallagher and so many others.

Horizon: Zero Dawn totally delivered in terms of a US/UK voice cast combo with amazing performances from actors such as Ashly Burch, Crispin Freeman, Garrick Hagon, Bryce Papenbrook, Josh Keaton, Adjoa Andoh Robbie Daymond, Stefan Ashton Frank, Jennifer Hale, Cherami Leigh, Laurel Lefkow (from the expansion btw) and so many others.

The rest were all great too.

My decision is a tie between both Fire Emblem Echoes and NieR: Automata but alas the vote is going to NieR.

I accidentally clicked Anthony Ingruber for Joker when I meant to click Kyle McCarly for 9S. Is there a way to fix this?

@GamingFanatic Same thing happened to me as well, accidentally clicking on Corey Burton in another category.

Main Male: Kyle McCarley, I was blown away with his work as 9S, especially in the 3rd Playthrough. Yuri Lowenthal as Haseo is my runner up choice.

Main Female: Went for Erica Lindbeck as Celica, as polarizing Celica is, everyone can agree Erica did an excellent job with the part.

Support Male: My Vote goes to Ian Sinclair, his performance as Berkut contributed to help Berkut stand out and steal the show whenever Berkut is around. Also says something when pretty much everyone I know prefers his take over Tatsuhisa Suzuki.

Support Female: Went with Cherami Leigh as A2, I was surprised to see her playing someone more world weary like A2, let alone even changing up her voice for the part.

Ensemble: As much as I love really Nier Automata's and Shadows of Valentia's voice casts. I had to give this one to .Hack GU just for the fact they were able to bring back everyone back after a decade since the PS2 Trilogy was done. Even going as far as to bring back VAs who hardly appear in stuff nowadays like Bridget Hoffman and Dave Wittenberg.
