I like some of the choices even if they didn't get picked it shows they have good taste in voice acting.

I was hoping that Colleen Clinkenbeard as Erza Scarlet would be nominated. Much to my dismay, she wasn't.

I've already cast my votes so to summarize:

Best ensemble choices were Fate Zero, Black Lagoon and Tiger & Bunny.

Best male lead choices were Brad Swaile, Matthew Mercer and Andrew Love; simply known as japanese salary man, father of the year and jazz drummer.

Best female lead choices were Maryke Hendrikse, Tabitha St Germain and Emily Neves; to simplify potty-mouthed chinese american, one woman army and the attractive ghost girl.

Best supporting male was tough so my choices was big. I had tough time thinking about it.

Best supporting female was easy which was good for my brain.

Bleach isn't nominated for Best Vocal Ensemble? I'd love to know why.
said at 3:04 PM on Sat Mar 1 2014

My guess would be it's inconsistent quality. There have been numerous recasts during the dub's lifespan, ever changing ADR Directors and dreadful filler arcs that put even the best VAs in a not so flattering light.

Who will probably win:

TV/OVA Ensemble: Blue Exorcist or BL: RBT (reason = airing on TV = more awareness)

Male Lead TV/OVA: Bryce Papenbrook (same reason as above)

Female Lead TV/OVA: Probably Maryke Hendrikse since fans are obsessed with foul language + franchise aired on TV before and will air again soon

Male Supporting TV/OVA: Probably Kyle Hebert. Bleach is super popular among casual fans and if you haven't watched at least one episode you've probably been hiding under a rock

Female Supporting TV/OVA: Stephanie Sheh as Hinata seems like a safe bet. Naruto franchise is extremely popular.

Who I would like to win (Staff or People's Choice):

TV/OVA Ensemble: Fate/Zero, Tiger & Bunny or High School DxD are outstanding dubs that have an excellent foundation for when their sequels eventually get dubbed (Fate/stay night remake, Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, High School DxD New)

Male Lead TV/OVA: Matthew Mercer as Kiritsugu Emiya or Wally Wingert as Kotetsu/Wild Tiger

California has always had the edge in male talent in anime dubs compared to Texas. Nothing new here. Either one is worthy of being the winner.

Female Lead TV/OVA: Jamie Marchi as Rias Gremory. Perfect all around and one of her best roles to date.

Male Supporting TV/OVA: Jamieson Price as Rider was one of the best performances I've ever heard. He was great as Kirei Kotomine in Fate/stay night but Rider blows that performance out of the water!

Female Supporting TV/OVA: Mona Marshall as Young Shirou Emiya was fantastic casting. Most memorable of the group.

I have to say though, I kind of wish Gundam Unicorn was in this. I would have voted for some of them.

But, anyway, I voted for the Black Lagoon cast, and Jamieson Price's Rider.

Ooh, tough choices this year.

Vocal Ensemble- There are some great choices like Black Lagoon, Blue Exorcist and the Woman Called Fujiko Mine, but Fate/Zero is my absolutely favourite from the past year. So I'll be going with that.

Male Lead- I prefer Brad's run as Rojuro "Rock" Okajima. But Papenbrook, Sinclair, Love and Mercer are good runner-ups.

Female Lead- The hardest category to choose from. I picked Kari Wahlgren for her fantastic portrayal as Saber, but I also loved Maryke's Revy and Michelle Ruff's Fujiko Mine.

Male Supporting- As if Female Lead wasn't tricky enough. Went with Marc Diraison. But CCS, Redman, Thornton, Silverstein and Hebert are worthy candidates.

Female Supporting- Easily going with Stephanie Sheh. She has always been terrific as Hinata Hyuga. And this is no exception. Lee and Marshall are also good as well.

There's a lot of seriously talented VA's in all of these categories so coming to a straight forward clear decision for each category is tediously difficult. Erik Kimerer, Matthew Mercer, Bryce Papenbrook & Scott Freeman were all above average but I choose Andrew Love in the end. I'm kinda of surprised that Chris Patton's Kaoru, Dan Woren's Caster, Vic Mignogna's Nagato, Troy Baker's Pain & Leah Clark's Yuu, Adam Gibbs' Sanetoshi, Brina Palencia's Jun Samukawa, Joe Ochman's Hachigen Ush┼Źda, Kendall McClellan's Araya & Colleen Clinkenbeard's Truth(Woman version) aren't nominated considering they were quite noteworthy and are among my favorite performances from last year. Jessica Boone was excellent as Kirie Kanoe so I voted for her in the Female supporting category. I've been a huge Bleach fan for many years and I've just never been satisfied with Kyle Hebert's take on Aizen its certainly not a bad performance but it lacks presence. There are some damn fine performances from the male supporting category Josh Grelle, Christopher Corey Smith & Marc Diraison are quite superb but John Swasey's performance as Makoto is simply on a whole another level. Colleen Clinkenbeard's masterful direction on the Guilty Crown dub is to thank for that. I've found Mike Mcfarland's latest directing efforts from the last year to be competent but they lack the great charisma that his previous directing works had that made them so compelling I feel Colleen's recent directing efforts have surpassed Mike's & most of her Funimation colleagues in terms of high quality dubs. Michelle Ruff's Fujiko gave the best performance out of the The Woman Called Fujiko Mine dub outside of Josh Grelle & Ryan Reynolds' Isolde Brach. I choose the dub of Kids on the Slope for best ensemble cast but Fate/Zero, Accel World & the others were well worthy of a vote as well.

If I can be honest, this was an incredibly slow year as far as anime was concerned.
Not just dubbing. Overall, the anime output this year was incredibly disappointing, and wasn't all to impressed with anything I've seen so far.
Really just had to base my votes on the voice clips and what I know of the voice actors in question.

My picks:
BLACK LAGOON: ROBERTA'S BLOOD TRAIL - This is a great cast. Each voice actor is very distinct with their roles, and they slipped back into them perfectly. The 6-year gap wasn't jarring at all. It was well-worth the wait.
WALLY WINGERT - Tiger & Bunny had a great dub, but Wally in particular stood out from everyone else. He could be funny, but he also helped us sympathize with his character.
MARYKE HENDRIKSE - THIS is a great performance, one of my all-time favorite in anime. It's hilarious, but also sarcastic, butchy (but not too much), and the way she handles the cussing is... quite natural. Seriously, she's perfect, a natural choice, which is interesting considering the other kinds of characters she plays. This is a HUGE change of pace for her, and even though she could have taken a much more generic approach to this character (like a million other tough-girl voices), she came out pretty damn awesome.
KIRK THORNTON - He gives a great father/mentor voice, but he's also quite funny and serious in the role. He's memorable.
MONA MARSHALL - Wasn't expecting to vote for her, but after listening to the clips, she's the clear winner for me in this category. She's perfect as boy voices, and her extensive voice acting background really shows here. This was a very dramatic role for her, a HUGE change of pace from South Park.

In the past there have always been clumsy individuals who claim they accidentally voted for a nominee against their will while attempting to listen to the sound clip.

Or I suggest you listen to clips while LOGGED OUT and then LOG IN when you're ready to vote. Have fun!
