@Lpfan120 Bin Shimada was on the released cast list. I highly doubt an actor change will happen in English either.

@Nightmare Crusher Since Toriyama seems to be retooling Broly a little, maybe he won't be yelling non-stop, and Vic will have some normal dialogue. No doubt Broly will go berserk at some point, but perhaps the experience as a whole will be comparatively much kinder to Vic. We can hope, anyway...

@EPA Deane Vic made its debut in a NYAV Post dubbing production fourteen years ago as Zangetsu in the NYAV Post dub of Giant Robo. It has indeed been over a decade since he's worked with NYAV Post but it wouldn't surprise me if he eventually shows back up on their casting radar in the future.

Edward Elric in FMA 2003 is IMO one of the best dub VA performances of all time and easily my favorite role of his.

His performances as Burter and Broly were also great work too.

It was cool meeting him earlier this year, he was very kind and appreciated every single fan.

Don't know how I forgot to mention that he's Qrow Branwen. Vic has done a great job so far as this casual, yet coolheaded uncle of Ruby and Yang's. Volume 3 in general marked the point where the quality of RWBY's voice work got very good; sure, it improved somewhat by Volume 2, though 3 was when vocal evolution truly kicked in for me.

His Melzargard was pretty unnerving, too.

Once again, Happy Birthday Vic Mignogna aka the Jingle Master!

Happy Birthday Vic Mignogna!

My top 10 favourite roles his are:

1.) Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)
2.) Tamaki Suoh (Ouran High School Host Club)
3.) Spirit "Death Scythe" Albarn (Soul Eater)
4.) Kurz Weber (Full Metal Panic!)
5.) Kasuka Heiwajima (Durarara!!)
6.) Luciano Bradley (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion)
7.) Burter (Dragon Ball Z)
8.) Yellow Radio (Accel World)
9.) Bui (Yu Yu Hakusho)
10.) Inugamigyobudanuki Tamazuki (Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan)

I also really liked his performance as Melzargard in One Punch Man, now that is a good example of Vic massively playing against type.

His Silver Mask was also pretty good, and very fitting considering he basically is playing the evil cousin of a character voiced by Aaron Dismuke. They've gone from playing brother to each other's nemesis. love it! XD

Also congrats on landing the role of Sabo in One Piece!

Vic was so sweet & down to earth when I met him at Melbourne Supanova last weekend. When anything changed with his schedule at all with his autograph line, panels or whatever, he'd come out & tell you himself.
At one point, he got up on his chair & threw chocolate bars to people in various lines telling them "Keep your strength up, guys. Save your energy".

He signed my copies of RWBY - Volume # 3 & Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax. He even recorded a short message for two of my friends, John & Sacha, who'd just became a couple as Qrow.
Finally, I asked him about the Kawaii-Kon 'Ask an Anime Character' panel a few weeks back; as my friend, Trevor asked him a question that indirectly broke out of character 'cause he was laughing so hard at David Vincent's reaction as Grimmjow.
He ended up laughing even harder at my recount of said event.

The moment in question (51:00-53:53):

Vic Mignogna announced at his panel this past weekend at Bak-Anime that he will be voicing Sabo. I sat down with him afterwards and he showed me the official character autograph card (a postcard sized card that has the voice actors photo with a character that they voice, that the voice actors use to autograph for fans) and said the studio just gave it to him and this past weekend was the first time he was allowed to use it.
said at 10:14 AM on Fri Mar 31 2017
@Minuet888 That's weird. Not that he's voicing Sabo, but that he's only allowed a month later after Film Gold got released in theaters to use the autograph character card. I mean you'd think after the news got out, he'd then be able to use the cards, unless there are certain bylaws.

That said when Jeannie Tirado could break the news that she's voicing Koala, she was stoked as hell (even though she had the fewest lines in the movie), but maybe only because she's relatively new to the industry and Vic is a veteran.

I think it's rather amusing that Vic voice acts main protagonist Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, and that one of the main antagonists is a person named Bradley.
THEN in Code Geass R2 Vic voice acts a person named Bradley whom is another main antagonist.
Ahh. . . If only Lelouch's name was Edward, then that would make it even funnier.

I know you guys don't include Web series in your voice actor database, but I think you should make exceptions for some based on the development process and how professional it may or may not be. I believe Chris Niosi himself gave his example of professional development for TOME: Terrain of Magical Expertise.

RWBY by RoosterTeeth Studios and the late Monty Oum recently announced Vic to be cast in Season 3 as Qrow Branwen, and considering the amount of professional development, animation and funding that went into that and its older brother series, Red vs. Blue, the amount of professional talent shared between the two of them, Red vs. Blue features Elijah Wood in Season 10, and RWBY is also advertizing the launch of a new Japanese dub with many familiar Seiyu veteran talent on board to voice in it, I agree with Kirb when I say that you might want to reconsider your stance on web series, at least in cases with a level of commitment and professionalism as these three examples.

Happy Birthday Vic Mignogna!

He was the first voice actor I had ever met back in 2013 at the Ottawa Comic Con, he was pretty cool to talk to and I of course got his autograph. It's one of my more prized possessions.

If there were one character I think Vic was born to play it was Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, one of the greatest well rounded performances I've ever heard in an English dub. He nailed Edward comedic moments especially his angry outburst moments and also was able to bring a lot of depth with his more serious, angstier and tragic moments very nicely. I know some people probably think he sounds too old sounding as Edward but I've always thought his voice matched the design very well and it gives him a wise beyond his years vibe especially considering his upbringing. I can't praise this performance enough.

Then there's his performance as Tamaki Suoh in Ouran High School Host Club, he was so over the top and hilarious in that role, especially since Vic really wanted to voice Tamaki as soon as he saw the character. I'm very glad it happened....Honestly Vic's voice just fits blondes perfectly...not to say he can't play other characters of different hair colour of course.

I also loved Vic's many other roles including Spirit "Death Scythe" Albarn, Kurz Weber, Kasuka Heiwajima, Luciano Bradley, Burter, Broly, Inugamigyobu Tamazuki, Ikkaku Madarame, Yellow Radio, Kobun Ka, Keldeo, Gentle, Moid, Rotwang, Hans Chuckman, Yutaka Tamaru and Uatu The Watcher.

also his's fantastic.

@Autovolt The moment I saw your picture Overnight Appointment began to play in my head.
And I totally agree with you about Vic. His singing, his voice acting, he's just got a voice like liquid gold.
Man you've got his autograph!? I WANT ONE
I really badly want to meet the Fullmetal Alchemist cast, especially Vic. Lucky!
said at 6:04 AM on Sat Aug 27 2016
Congrats on being cast as Mard Geer, Vic. I haven't caught up with Fairy Tail in a while but that seems like a great casting choice.

I also dig the idea of Vic voicing Yamato "Matt" Ishida in Digimon Adventure Tri. I think he'll be a great replacement for Michael Reisz.

Though I'm a bit unsure of him voicing Folken Fanel in the upcoming re-dub of The Vision of Escaflowne, I mean i'm sure the acting will be great but I'm not sure if Vic is the best choice for the role. I probably would have cast him as Allen but oh well.

He was also excellent in Yu Yu Hakusho as Ura Urashima and Bui. Bui was a nice use of his range even if it was pitch shifted, had I not know he already had voiced him, I wouldn't have guessed.

Happy Birthday Vic Mignogna, the first ever VA I ever met!

I've been re-watching Fullmetal Alchemist lately, and just... I can't help but be completely impressed every time. I've rarely ever seen an actor that can balance being both angsty, brooding, and giving such a fun, energetic, genuinely hilarious comedic performance all at the same time.

I hope he gets to expand his talent to more things outside of anime in the near future.

I met Vic today at the Ottawa Comic-Con, and he couldn't have been any more pleasant.

He is the first voice actor i ever met, and it was an honour for him to be the first.

I often feel bad for Vic, since despite being an amazing voice actor and one of the nicest guys you could meet he's had so many rumors hurled against him. I've seen him accused of everything from homophobia to groping fangirls, all of which is unfounded and untrue.

That being said, I love how he's able to tackle everything from wacky slapstick to incredibly dramatic roles, sometimes within the same series without it feeling out of place. He's also got a fantastic singing voice, as showcased by the English versions of "We Are" and "Hikari E" from One Piece.

Kakarot!!! Haha just had too.. Totally amazing VA with a vast amount of voices and talents! Totally loved 'bit by bit' (DBGT beginning) and an incredible singing voice with the added talent of being able to compose his own songs. Completely fallen for 'guilty beauty love'. Truly a stunning and skillful guy!

um i think its wrong.... I'm currently watching sgt. frog.... i don't think he plays KERORO(Sgt. Frog.). or at least he doesnt in the english dub im watching on netflix. because death the kid (SOUL EATER) and Italy from (HETALIA) are DEFINITELY played by the same voice actor... Todd Haberkorn.

@FeenixDOWN Vic was cast as Keroro in the ill-fated ADV Films dub.

Vic would make a great Gecko Moria (Using a more booming Nezumi like voice)

That Edward is horrible and I don't even watch FMA. It's too raspy, the acting seems phony and the delivery is not sincere. I bet Romi Park's better by a large margin though. Dunno, could be worse.

@AntiSabat666 In case you're interested, Romi Park's Edward is on her page if you want to hear it.

His best role IMO is Kensei Ma (Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple). Probably because it's such a different role compared to the characters he usually voices.

I'm quite curious how Vic will handle the huge task of voicing Nagato in the Pain Saga..its a hell of arc filled with fluid animation and emotion depth to spare..I'm excited to see the results and where his performance will stand!

His voice work is quite impressive, and I really like his singing for Dragon Ball Kai, GT, and One Piece. He should be a professional singer on the radio; he's much better than most other artists!
