Among LA female VAs, Michelle arguably has the biggest range, able to pull off a little girl all the way to an old woman. Not to mention that she can nail little boys convincingly as well! Michelle is up there with Wendee Lee; both are seasoned LA VAs that have voicing in anime and J-games for decades, along with having the biggest vocal range as far as LA female VAs are concerned.

Happy Birthday Michelle Ruff!

My top 10 favourite roles of hers are:

1.) Yoko Littner (Gurren Lagann)
2.) Luna (Sailor Moon)
3.) Yuki Nagato (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
4.) Anri Sonohara (Durarara!!)
5.) Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach)
6.) Yura Keikain (Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan)
7.) Sonoshee McLaren (Redline)
8.) Euphemia li Britannia (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion)
9.) Lan (Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne)
10.) Maria Asagi (Gungrave)

I'm glad Michelle Ruff finally got to be a part of the Dragon Ball franchise this year as part of Bang Zoom's Super dub, though I kinda wish she was Bulma instead of Chi-Chi since I always thought she'd be a great Bulma, that said her Chi-Chi is pretty good all things considered.

Also very surprising to see Michelle voicing Kikyo Zoldyck. Very unexpected, and a pretty good playing against type role for her.

also good she's still continuing to voice Fujiko Mine is the newest Lupin the 3rd series.

I think its a fun fact to point out that Ruff has potrayed characters that has caught the eye of the funi goku progeny in which they would do anything to impress her.

Gurren lagaan (Gohan-Hebert), a woman called Fujiko Mine (Bardock-Strait) heck even Schemmel-Goku himself in Skullgirls, I would not be surprised if we see this case again with her and an Edwards-Goten collab

Happy Birthday Michelle Ruff!!!

No other voice actress has impressed me more than Michelle Ruff herself and the incredible roles she has voiced for the past 2 decades.

Loved her roles as Yoko Littner (Gurren Lagann), Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach), Anri Sonohara (Durarara!!), Luna (Sailor Moon), among others.

Looking forward to her performance as Young Satoru Fujinuma in "Erased", and hope she gets a role in "Hunter x Hunter" either as Zushi or an incidental female character in one of the series arcs.

Happy Birthday Michelle Ruff. Amazing as Yukari in P3, as well as some other characters such as Yuki, Cream, Noire (the way she says BLOOD AND THUNDER is really awesome), and more. She's a very good VA in the anime scene of things and she's extremely talented.

She's almost on the verge of being 50 and yet she hasn't really aged too much at all in the past few years. It's really incredible.
said at 3:48 AM on Tue Oct 18 2016
@ScraftyIsTheBest Yeah the way she said "BLOOD AND THUNDER!" as Noire was really awesome! But just in general, she made Noire wonderful tbh.

Happy Birthday Michelle Ruff!

She is easily one of the best leading ladies when it comes to anime dubbing, she's extremely versatile with the kind of roles she can voice as well as a very impressive acting range to boot.

It's hard to pick favourites with her but if I had to pick one it'd be Yoko Littner since that was the first major role I recognized her as and still one of my favourite girls in anime. Of course with that said the runner ups would have to include Yuki Nagato, Rukia Kuchiki, Anri Sonohara and Luna. All of which are usually all the major roles I tend to think of when talking about Michelle.

I also loved her performances as Yura Keikain, Euphemia li Britannia, Sonoshee McLaren, Fujiko Mine, Carl Clover, Mihiro Oiwakken, Eugenie Danglars, Maria Asagi, Zoe Orimoto, Aoi Tohsaka, Martha Mackenzie and Lan.

She's continued to do a great job as Luna in the Sailor Moon series. Definitely the best English voice this character has had to date. I look forward to more of her work as Luna in the dubs of the laters seasons of the series.

It's also great to see she'll be reprising Fujiko Mine once more in the new Lupin the 3rd anime series.

Not much else to say other than....

Happy Birthday Michelle Ruff!

Happy Birthday Michelle Ruff, there is a reason your my favorite female VA and it's because you always give fantastic performances such as Yuki Nagato, Rukia, Yoko, Carl Clover, Euphima Li Britannia, Jill Valentine, Katherine, Manaka, & Anri.
Also I loved your performance as C.Viper, her serious and snarky attitude brought the character to life. And I wanted to say thank you for voicing Sinon, she was my favorite character in fiction even before she had an English voice, and you blew away my expectations and your voice matched her perfectly. Keep up the wonderful work Michelle.

Happy birthday to an actress I view highly. The range of characters she has played. From Chii from Chobits, Princess Euphemia from Code Geass, Katherine McBride from Catherine, C.Viper from Street Fighter 4, Bebel from Gargantia, Yuki Nagato from Haruhi Suzumiya and Tsukasa Hiiragi from Lucky Star.

I was pleased she landed the role of Shino Asada from Sword Art Online 2 and she didn't disappoint.

Outstanding, I never thought Funimation would bring her in to reprise her role of Fujiko Mine from Lupin The III Part II. Can't wait to hear perform the role once again. Big fan of Michelle's. Rukia, Miharu, Euphy, Anri, and now Fujiko once again.
said at 10:30 AM on Sat Jul 20 2013
@djz1079.rush The fact that FUNimation is willing to spend a little extra to bring more diversity and variety to their dubs on occasion is extremely welcome, seeing how their dubs seemed to have the same recycled cast list in many cases for a few straight years.

@PsychicVoiceSpy One can only dare to hope they might get Tom Kenny.
said at 7:56 AM on Tue Dec 10 2013
@Troodon2 Why Tom Kenny?
said at 10:37 AM on Sat Jun 7 2014
@PsychicVoiceSpy It doesn't matter. Diversity means nothing if acting is bad. Look at KLK. Diverse cast, yet horrible acting. Good Familiarity>Bad Diversity any day and if you don't see this, you cannot be a voice acting fan.
said at 8:35 AM on Sun Jun 8 2014
@AntiSabat666 What did I say here that indicated I prefer cast diversity over acting quality? All I said is that it's a nice change when a company that often likes to play favorites and constantly cast the same people decide to bring in someone they rarely or have never used in a dub before, which doesn't necessarily mean they're sacrificing the integrity of the acting itself.

If by 'KLK' you mean Kill la Kill, the dub isn't even out yet! All there is so far is one trailer, hardly enough to say the acting is horrible. What are you basing that claim on if not even a single episode of that dub is out yet? As for your last sentence, are you saying I'm not a real voice acting fan because you're assuming I value diversity over acting quality (which isn't the case)? If so, this has to be one of the most baseless, rude and ignorant things anyone has ever said to me on this website. Congratulations!
said at 4:49 AM on Sun Dec 23 2012
WOW! I've never really Goggled her to get to know which characters voices that she does, but I'm amazed. There are a bunch that I know! Like Yuki Nagato from 'The melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya' AND of course Rukia (LUV HER!) from 'Bleach'! Hey, does anyone know if it's really ending I'm very sad about that ;( .
