Underrated voice actor. Even if he isn't the most versatile actor at Ocean, he's a really good actor. Great as Miroku, Hot Shot, Van Fanel, Teru Mikami, Cyclops and Billy Katagiri. He also has great chemistry with Kelly Sheridan.

Happy Birthday Kirby Morrow!

My top 10 favourite roles of his are:

1.) Miroku (InuYasha)
2.) Hot Shot (Transformers: Cybertron)
3.) Teru Mikami (Death Note)
4.) Cyclops (X-Men Evolution)
5.) Hasegawa (Kurozuka)
6.) Van Fanel (The Vision of Escaflowne)
7.) Billy Katagiri (Gundam 00)
8.) ElecMan.EXE (Megaman NT Warrior)
9.) General Grievous (Lego Star Wars)
10.) Anakin Skywalker (Lego Star Wars)

It was great hearing him in a new anime dub the past year, in Gintama where he voices the male version of Tsukuyo/Tsukuo in the genderbent arc, it's not a major role but it was really cool hearing him in it, sounded very cool as per the usual from him, kind of gruff too which is nice.

I also really liked his performances in the Eternals motion comics, his Ajax sounds like a nice, change of pace for him and he's improved a lot as Tony Stark/Iron Man in it. While still a little bit lighter than I'd prefer, he definitely fits the role a lot more now. Even his minor bit part as the Hospital Supervisor, definitely a good example of his range, it's a lot gruffer and older sounding than his usual roles, I'd like to see Kirby experiment a bit more, I think there is some potential there for more older sounding characters in his vocal range.

I would really like to hear him reprise his role as Cyclops again.

Ocean Studios really missed the perfect opportunity to have Kirby voice Scott in the Astonishing X Men Motion Comics.

It would have been wonderful to hear Kirby Morrow voice one of Cyclops' best Depictions.

He's played so many dark-haired characters that at this point, I've started associating his voice with the character brown.

Crossing my fingers and hoping he'll appear in Ginatama. I feel like Kirby's comedic roles don't always get the credit they deserve- he's absolutely hilarious when given good material.

I never really got into Death Note or Inuyasha, so to me, he'll always be Van Fanel.

Did watch Kurozuka, though. I had no idea he was behind Hasegawa's voice. It's not a show I'd recommend, but his performance was one of the highlights.

Happy Birthday Kirby Morrow!

He is definitely one of the my favourite underrated VA's. He has a very cool and smooth voice that breathes charisma into so many of his roles. I've got three favourite performances of his. The first is Miroku from InuYasha, probably the funniest character he's voiced. He nails the smooth talking wannabe Casanova lecherous con artist monk he is. The second is Hot Shot on Transformers: Cybertron, Hot Shot has always been a favourite character of mine, I feel Kirby brought a greater deal of charisma to the role surpassing Brent Miller who voiced him in the previous series and third and finally there is Teru Mikami on Death Note, his massive playing against type role. One of the few major villains he's voiced in his career and He IS GLORIOUS! I love how he chewed the scenery doing Mikami's infamous DELETE scenes. He was fantastic in the last episode when he had his major breakdown. I wish Kirby would voice more villains, he rocks at them.

I also love his other roles including Cyclops, Van Fanel, Ryo Takatsuki, ElecMan.EXE, Billy Katagiri, Trowa Barton, Gyunei Guss, Jay, Josh Kirkpatrick, Tommy, General Grievous, Anakin Skywalker and he's probably my favourite of the Ocean Goku's.

I personally thought he had a good voice for Goku but honestly I think he would be far more suited to voice Future Trunks instead, maybe and hopefully in Ocean's dub of DBZ Kai it could happen.

I think one of the best performances in Kirby Morrow's voice acting career has to be Hasegawa in the rather obscure anime Kurozuka. I mean he's no stranger to voicing villains, having voiced a few of them thus far in his career but this time as the main big bad of the Red Imperial Army. Hasegawa is a shrewd mad scientist and his voice is pitched a bit up higher and has a great evil sneer in his voice, he also hammed it up especially when Hasegawa turned into a monstrous beast sounding very gruff and bestial, man this entire character and performance, I felt really showed off the acting and vocal range he's really capable of. I'd honestly say this was the stand out performance in the entire Kurozuka dub, not to say everyone else wasn't great or at their A-Game but this was one of the more unique voice acting performances I have heard in some time.

I also really loved his performance as Rey Za Burrel in Gundam Seed Destiny, again not the best anime ever but for the most part I'd honestly argue he voiced the role FAR better than Toshihiko Seki who was while not bad was kind of missing a certain pop to his performance that Kirby was able to bring. I thought he nailed the character breakdown at the end far better than his Japanese counterpart IMO.

He was very enjoyable in the Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales series, while I've mentioned before that I really liked his takes on Anakin Skywalker and General Grievous, I think in Droid Tales he was really hilarious, especially with how they wrote Anakin in that, I couldn't stop laughing.

I also dig his performance as Xenetes in Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll.

I really wish we'd see more of Kirby in more voice acting roles, I know he's a lot more busy these days with doing live-action work though whenever I get to hear him in something new, that's exciting to me. Hopefully he has a role in either or both of the upcoming World Trigger and/or Gintama dubs.

Happy Birthday Kirby Morrow!

I saw Kirby recently in a TV Movie called Murder, She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery where he plays a con artist named Larry Jaeger who becomes the murder victim in the story.

I thought he was easily the most entertaining part of the movie, he was a slick fast talking kind of con man, it sort of reminded me a bit of his performance as Miroku from InuYasha at times.

The movie itself is nothing too special, it's a typical murder mystery TV movie but it was cool getting to see him in live-action, it's also worth noting that other fellow Vancouver VA's Garry Chalk and Kazumi Evans also appear in this.

If you're in the mood for it, check it out.

@Metabad It's from his character in Death Note, Mikami. He appears in the second half of the series, but the moment I'm referring to would be a big time spoiler. Still, it's so unbelievably over-the-top that your brain would explode from the awesome.
