His voice for Goblin Noir has to be his best villain voice. So creepy and badass.

This is a character you don't want to mess with, unless you're Spider-Man Noir.

Going through several of Jim Cummings voice compares & it's interesting to see how many roles where he's had to either fill in or replace voice over legends like Paul Winchell, Sterling Holloway & Mel Blanc. He was practically in almost ever Disney cartoon from the 80's to 2000's

His Tigger & Winnie The Pooh are definitely 2 of his best roles & he's evolved them to a point where they're practically perfect.

Also, he has the best voice for villains. He brings gravitas & charm to his bad guy voices. And he can spund downright intimidating(His Imhotep voice displays this trait the best in my opinion)

I'd like to see him voice more DC characters outside of Jonah Hex.

Happy Birthday Jim Cummings!

My top 10 favourite roles of his are:

1.) Winnie The Pooh (Winnie The Pooh)
2.) Darkwing Duck/Drake Mallard (Darkwing Duck)
3.) Pete (Goof Troop)
4.) Hondo Ohnaka (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
5.) Clampdown (Transformers: Robots In Disguise)
6.) Thermidor (Transformers: Robots In Disguise)
7.) Kraven The Hunter (Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions)
8.) Tigger (Winnie The Pooh)
9.) Fuzzy Lumpkins (Powerpuff Girls)
10.) Negaduck (Darkwing Duck)

I also really like his performance as Lord Boxman so far from what I've heard in O.K K.O Let's Be Heroes, it's worth noting that creator Ian Jones-Quartey really wanted to work with Jim, so that's pretty awesome.

It was cool hearing Jim voice in my current favourite series, Voltron: Legendary Defender as Baujal earlier this year. I really loved the vocoder effect the character had, makes me think with some tweaking Jim could make a great Soundwave.

Speaking of Transformers, I'm happy that Jim got to return as the skittish Decepticon Crustacean Clampdown once more in RID's 3rd and final season. Clampdown had a lot of funny moments especially in "Prisoner Principles".

I've begun saying this, but if David Kaye didn't exist. I think Jim Cummings would be my favourite VA, so what I'm saying is, Jim's my 2nd favourite VA of all time.

Oh man, I've been looking forward to this one for a while now.
Jim Cummings is my all-time favorite voice actors! Chances are if you're someone like me who was born in the 90's and grew up watching a lot of Disney, then naturally Jim was one of the first voice actors you ever came across. And as a result of this, Jim has played a major role in shaping our childhoods! This man has proven to be a master at playing a variety of different characters, ranging from tough, determined heroes to menacing villains to everyone's favorite bear!
My favorite characters he's voiced include Cat from "CatDog," Ed the Hyena from "The Lion King," Ray the Firefly from "The Princess & The Frog," The Tasmanian Devil, Pete, Tantor from "The Legend of Tarzan," The Dakota Dude from "C.O.W.Boys of Moo-Mesa," his replacement performances as various "Jungle Book" characters, his various singing performances, and of course, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.
Happy Birthday, Jim Cummings! :)

Happy Birthday, Jim Cummings! He was one of those voice actors who - and this is a little cliche of me to say - shaped my childhood; up there with the likes of Tom Kenny, Richard Steven Horvitz, and Kath Soucie. Cummings' resume practically transcends luxuriant and it's good to see he's active well into today. My favorite Jim Cummings roles are comprised of Darkwing Duck, Pete, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Fuzzy Lumpkins, Bad Mr. Frosty, Sumo Santa, Houngan, Red Eye, Organ Grindor, Psy-Crow, Kaa, Cat, Ultra Lord, Master of Games, Vin Moosk the Tie Hunter, Tazmanian Devil, Hak Foo, Ed, Ray the Firefly, Dr. Robotnik, The Great Fusilli, Monterey Jack, Hondo Ohnaka, Keeper of the Mask, and Caspin.

I have nothing but good things to say about Jim Cummings as a voice actor. He has a great number of roles under his belt. They can range from hilarious, to badass, to just endearing. He is also a very worthy successor for the likes of Sterling Holloway, Paul Winchell & Mel Blanc. Happy Birthday Jim Cummings!

He is without a doubt one of my top favourite VA's of all-time, easily in the top 5 for sure. Seriously when it comes to VA's from your childhood, I consider Jim Cummings one of the definitive ones, heck if you grew up from the 80's and on in the English speaking parts of the world and never once watched a cartoon with Jim in it....I hate to say it but you had no childhood, kidding aside Jim was one of the first VA's I usually could recognize in every cartoon but that was never a bad thing since the voices, the characters and performances he did were usually top notch.

My favourite role of his is without a doubt Winnie the Pooh, I was a huge fan of Pooh back in the day, I lived and breathe Pooh, I'd usually watch the cartoons and movies nearly every day. I am aware that he didn't originate the role of Winnie the Pooh that was Sterling Holloway but Jim is the VOICE I've come to associate the character with, I mean wow not only is it a damn good impression of Sterling's but I'd say this is an example of an impression that surpasses the original. I just love how innocent, good nature and naive Pooh is and Jim performs that part of the character splendidly. The fact he's also now taken on the role of Tigger from and the late and great Paul Winchell is rather darn good too. While I still prefer Paul's version of Tigger, Jim does a solid impression of him and since then has made the character his own.

A close runner up for favourite role of his has to BE THE TERROR THAT FLAPS IN THE NIGHT! Darkwing Duck! Only recently as of this year I finally got around to watching the show and oh man was that a blast. I can totally see why people considering DW one of their favourite roles of Jim's. I love how his voice kind of plays him off as a Daffy Duck impression but with Jim Cumming's twist to it but he also shows how great at improv too with doing a lot of ad-libbing with the role too. The fact he's able to also make Darkwing's evil counterpart Nega-Duck just as distinct sounding too is incredible. The fact he also voiced Herb Muddlefoot and Professor Moliarty is also impressive too.

I also have loved and enjoyed so many other great roles of his including Pete, Monterey Jack, Fat Cat, Professor Norton Nimnul, Sgt. Spinelli, Dingo, Gillecomgain/Hunter, Ed, Tazmanian Devil, Kraven The Hunter, Green Goblin Noir, Boomerang, Shocker, Absorbing Man, MODOK, Thanos, Kingpin, Crusher Hogan, Cat, Fuzzy Lumpkins, Jonah Hex, Master of Games, Temblor, Hondo Ohnaka, Ultra Lord, Clampdown, Colonel Quint Quarry, Rippersnapper, Afterburner, Dr. Hudson, Pirate Liliputtian, Police Chief Gluteus, Vexx, Dr. Robotnik, Crud, Smudge, Bruno, Nasty Jack, Shredder, Leatherhead, Ackar, Razoul the Head Guard, Captain of the Guards, Ocula, Terror Mask, The Numerous times he's voiced Santa Claus and whenever he filled in for Jeremy Irons as Scar....I mean wow he really does a bang up job especially in the song Be Prepared. If no one had ever pointed this out, I don't think I would have ever caught on to that, great job as always Jim. I hope I get the chance to meet him someday.

I also think he could pull off both Optimus Prime and or Megatron someday....and even Ironhide too in a future Transformers series.
said at 5:26 AM on Thu Nov 3 2016
I'm pretty happy that Jim Cummings managed to get another new role in the Transformers franchise this year and it being another role in Robots in Disguise too!

I really love his performance as Thermidor, this pirate-like Transformer introduced this current season. This role isn't on here yet but his episode did air in Canada a month and a half ago and in the states it's going to air this weekend coincidentally enough.

It's pretty funny that between Thermidor and his other RID role Bisk. Both of his roles on the show are Decepticon Crustaceans, one a lobster and the other a crab.

It's always great whenever Jim (one of my childhood favourites) voicing in my personal favourite franchise (Transformers).

 24 Shout Outs!
Hi Guys, just to clear up some stuff. I sang the song "Be Prepared" in Lion King- Jeremy did all the speaking in the intro and the dialogue in the middle but the rest is me, I also looped a few lines cuz he was back in England and unavailable. Also Jess Harnell and I sang the "demo" of " Hakuna Matata" for the benefit of Nathan L. and Ernie S. and I wrote the lyrics to the infamous fart/rhyming verse. Good times!!

@Jazz2000 Wow, Jim. I wouldn't have had any idea that the last bit was you! You impersonated Jeremy Irons so well!

@Jazz2000 You are by far one of my favourite voice actors, and without this post, I would have never known what your head looked like when flipped sideways.

Thank you Jazz2000.

Thank you.

Jeremy Irons did the voice of Scar in "The Lion King" not Jim.

@Oni Kataki He did a few lines of the singing voice because Jeremy hurt his vocal chords.

@Oni Kataki Plus if you would have actually clicked on the character you would have seen that we have Jeremy Irons credited for the role as well
