Happy Birthday Eric Stuart!

My top 5 favourite roles of his are:

1.) Brock (Pokemon)
2.) James (Pokemon)
3.) Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh!)
4.) Gourry Gabriev (Slayers)
5.) Dexter (Pokemon)

It's great he came back to voice Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions earlier this year. Still haven't seen it yet, but I definitely will in the near future.

Happy Birthday to the always great Eric Stuart. Not only was this guy the voice of James, Brock, Seto Kaiba and Meta Knight, he pretty much owned all these years and is all those characters.

One of the best VA's to come out of not just 4Kids but the New York industry.

@GreenGoblin75 As Strange as this idea Sounds, I think he would be a great voice for Bruce Banner....

Talented VA great as Brock, Gourry, James, Hi-tech, Meta Knight, and of course Seto Kaiba and after watching Dark Dimensions he gave one hell of a performance in the film truly one of New York veteran voice actors

I still think Brock is Eric's best role, same, but at least he semi-reprised it in "Teenage Pokemon" (as bad as this Series itself is, it was nice to hear him do the part again):

Happy Birthday Eric Stuart!!!

My favorite role of his is Seto Kaiba in the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters. He was great there with his cool whispery voice that suited the nature of such an intense character. Unfortunately, his performance kinda declined as the show went on, becoming more gruff, raspy, and shouty. He was still pretty good, but I'm happy it's seeming like he's going closer to his original voice for the new movie.

He was also great as Brock & James in Pokemon, bringing two great, distinct voices for these two great characters. He brought so much personality to both of them and made a great dub even better.

He was also great as Flint, Dexter, and his many other auxiliary voices in Pokemon. His auxiliary roles such as Gansley, Fortune Salim, Para, Dox, and many others were also great in Yu-Gi-Oh.

I also enjoyed his performances as Meta Knight, Hi-Tech, Hamato Yoshi, Les Galagoogoo, Gourry Gabriev, & the narrator in 4Kids One Piece.

Happy Birthday, Eric Stuart!

I'd have to agree with HylianBelmont that my favorite and best role from him was also Brock from Pokemon: he managed to make him a really down to Earth and earnest character in the English dub, and as far as I'm concerned, no one else has quite matched the passion & sheer effort he brought to that role. I also really enjoyed him as James, and I feel he was far superior to his successor in that role as well. I prefer how his Seto Kaiba sounded in the first two dub seasons & the Pyramid of Light Movie before it started getting more... shout-y, but to be fair, at any rate I preferred it over his Odex counterpart, and from what I'm hearing in the trailer for the upcoming film, it seems like he's going back to his older take, so I'm looking forward to that.

Even though his voice is somewhat recognizable, I have to say I've always been impressed by the sheer range of voice Eric could do. I'd never have guessed Meta Knight, Brock, James, Para, and Butch were done by the same person at all, actually, they sound very different from each other.

All in all, to me he was one of the best talents to come from NYC, and he's also a fairly nice guy from what I saw of him raising money to help his band member with cancer online & talking to children at his local library about how the acting process worked.

Happy Birthday Eric Stuart!

I think his best role is probably Brock from Pokemon honestly. He made him such a lovable guy with how he performed him! I also loved his Kaiba, but I preferred how he sounded in the first season as opposed to the later ones. It was a MUCH more fitting voice in my opinion. That being said he was still a good fit for the role and I'm very excited to hear how he sounds in the new film!

His Bastion was also pretty awesome. Giving him a very natural and intelligent-sounding voice. It's just a shame that Bastion's character never got the respect he deserved after the Shadow Riders arc...

I also loved his performances as Titan, Dik Dik Van Dik, Mac Metaphor, Sargent Muscle, King Muscle (although this is another case where I preferred his season one voice) Blocks, James, Gourry, Meta Knight, Marco and Kemo!

Happy Birthday, Eric Stuart! My all-time favorite Stuart role is actually a tie between Seto Kaiba and Brock, though he did great as James, Gourry Gabriev, and Bastion Misawa as well. Probably one of the best voice actors to have ever been associated with 4Kids in any shape or form.

You could probably throw a picnic with all the food the Pokemon dubs have used to censor various fruits, vegetables, and rice balls over the years: donuts, veggies, berries, and sandwiches actually sounds like a pretty good lunch.

Definitely the best Brock and James, hands down, his voice acting was excellent for a 4Kids dub (not that I think 4Kids did bad with Pokemon: in fact, I actually prefer their version over TPCi's dub).

As mangled as Yu-Gi-Oh's 4Kids dub is by comparison, he also did a pretty good job as Seto Kaiba as well, and I'm glad he's going to be back for the new Yu-Gi-Oh Movie.

Eric had many good roles such as Brock, James, Dexter, Squirtle, Hi-Tech, Para/Dox, but my favorite is DEFINITELY Seto Kaiba. He was awesome in that role.

In hindsight, I think Eric was one of 4Kids' best voice actors. He really made Brock, James, and Seto Kaiba his own, and I honestly don't think I can really ever forget the character and distinct voices he gave all three of them. I can understand why he moved to focus on his family, though, New York's really not what it used to be in terms of the dubbing scene there.

One of 4Kids more hit and miss actors he was generally better in Pokemon than as human on my side of the territory though his other non Pokemon roles are cool

My favourites are Gourry and Meta Knight

Happy Birthday Eric Stuart!

He was without a doubt one of the best VA's in the 4Kids talent pool, no matter what dub he was in, I always felt like Eric gave it his all. I can't really pick a favourite role from his since he was equally awesome as Seto Kaiba, Brock, James and Gourry Gabriev in my books. He was also excellent as Dexter, Hamato Yoshi, Meta Knight, Les and in so many other Pokemon voices.

It's a shame he's retired but every so often he comes back to reprise like for Gourry in the later seasons of Slayers, hopefully he's back as Kaiba for the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! movie.

I'm really excited that he is returning as Kaiba for Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions.

No doubt in my mind he is going to do a fantastic job there.

I'm very much looking forward to him screwing the rules once more.

My absolute favorite role of Eric Stuart's was his rendition of Brock. I feel he always seemed to make Brock so warm, inviting, and gentle. Eric made Brock feel like that older brother sort of figure you could look up to when you were down or feeling sad, but was also very wise for his age.

Naturally, I also adore his Gourry Gabriev, Seto Kaiba, and like his James quite a bit. I wish him continued success with his career as a musician nowadays.

Eric, I know you still want to be part of Pokemon again. I checked on the Pokemon Wikia website. Don't worry. I've got a plan. Once I send over the plan to Veronica Taylor, I'll let you in on it. By the way, the Save Our Voice Actors campaign plans to focus on your work as the voice of James.

@Legacyman SOVA has campaign for many years now, and with little success. What are the chances of the current VAs being replaced now, especially since they have been doing the voices for 7 years?

Despite being instantly recognizable (which could actually be a good quality, depending on perspective), he's a fine VA. He retired, true, but it can't be denied he had quite the career. He's not too bad at singing either, in or out of character.
