Am I the the only one who feels like he would make a good voice for the Joker?

@Soul-dragon Funny you say that, back around when Batman Year One was coming out there were rumours that Doug was voicing Joker in it, but of course Joker isn't in that story so I have no idea how that rumour gained traction in the first place.

He'd be pretty good as Joker based off his Hazama from Blazblue and a bit of his Corkus.

Who knew that the guy who does Asuma, Gin, Squall, Vega, Hazama, Python, and Chiaki from Nodame Cantamile also happens to voice Quico and Don Ramon in the English dub of El Chavo del Ocho Animation and Grumpy Bear and King Beastly in Care Bears: Welcome to Care-A-Lot XD

Happy Birthday Doug Erholtz!

My top 10 *UPDATED* favourite roles from him are:

1.) Hazama (Blazblue)
2.) Gin Ichimaru (Bleach)
3.) Jean Pierre Polnareff (Jojo's Bizarre Adventures)
4.) Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald (Fate/Zero)
5.) Vega (Street Fighter)
6.) Otto Heckel (Monster)
7.) Max Sandshelt (Durarara!!)
8.) Whis (Dragon Ball Super)
9.) Corkus (Berserk)
10.) Lucien Debray (Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo)

Doug's had a pretty good the past year, landing the roles of Whis in the Bang Zoom dub of Dragon Ball Super and finally after 3 years of waiting, being revealed as the English voice of Polnareff in Jojo's Bizarre Adventures.

I mean we all figured it was him just based on that tiny snippet of the next episode preview at the end of the final episode (episode 4) of the test pilot dub that was recorded back in 2014.

Man it must've been a bit difficult for Doug to keep a secret like that for so long, while the rest of the main Jojo cast had been announced back in 2014, we only got the proper confirmation last year.

His performance as Polnareff is actually really good, ok yeah sure he doesn't have a French accent like the character probably should have had but after what happened in Season 1 with it's dub....It's a sacrifice worth making, especially with Tony Oliver at the helm now as ADR director of Jojo, they have turned it around and actually made the Stardust Crusaders dub actually really good, I think Doug's Polnareff is one of the strongest performances, Doug finds a perfect blend between comedy and drama in the role. Polnareff was one of my favourites in Stardust Crusaders and he really NAILS the lovable French rogue. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he does the Vanilla Ice fight which is one of Polnareff's most emotional moments.

Going back to his Whis, another role he was a surprisingly good fit as, in some ways I think Doug Erholtz sounds more like Masakazu Morita than Ian Sinclair and he also gets the flamboyance and wise-ness of the character down really well. It's honestly also one of the best voices and performances in the Bang Zoom! dub. I think I prefer Ian a smidge more but Doug did this flamboyant angel really well.

Also cool he finally got on the Twitter game last year.

Definitely one of the most underrated VA's in the LA anime dubbing scene and I'm glad he's starting to get more notice as of late.

grew up hearing some of his digimon vocies.
then he entered as Squall/Leon, Gin, Asuma,Hazama/Terumi.
a bit sad though that he was been an Other Darrin for both Hazama, Leon, and Kisuke.
but this guy is still so very badass.

Happy Birthday Doug Erholtz.

The perfect voice for really creepy, unnerving and/or smug characters like Gin Ichimaru, Hazama, Vega, Shinji Matou, Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald and Corkus.

I've also enjoyed his performances as Lucien Debray, Otto Heckel, Max Sandshelt, Kuromaru, Kyuso, Zagan and Titan.

I'm interested in seeing how he'll pull off Inspector Zenigata now in Lupin the 3rd Part IV.

Happy Birthday Doug Erholtz!

@spider-batmanx12 I doubt it, considering that they have J. Michael Tatum and Scott Freeman to do whatever roles Doug would have gotten.

He's Soma Cruz from Castlevania, who's Count Alucard's friend in the series. What's funny is that in real life, Doug and Yuri Lowenthal are best friends too.

Happy birthday!

I love his smooth deep voice. I particularly like his Squall, Vega, Cao Pi, Gin, and Shin. He's also a good successor to Erik Davies' Hazama.

I don't know but this is my advice.

Don't believe everything you read.

While there may be some truth sometimes usually the internet is full of B.S.

If the person who posted the "news" on imdb is a regular (daily poster) then chances are they're full of cr*p.

If the poster has only THAT SINGLE post or just a couple it's quite possible it could be someone who worked on the film and therefore could be telling the truth.

So to sum up:

- imdb forum account with lots of posts = person starving for attention

- imdb forum account with few posts = person who made an account quite possibly to just share some real news
