RIP Bobby. You were wonderful back in the day as Peter Pan. Shame you died so young.

@Ross123 I was more saddened by the way he died than the cause of it.

He died alone and forgotten in an abandoned tenement building. He didn't have an ID, so they classified him as a John Doe and he was buried on an unmarked pauper's grave. His family didn't even know about his fate, until a year after his death. And it wasn't made public until 1972.

That was a really horrible way to die. All alone in the streets without anybody to help you, like a typical pauper.

It's really sad, but yet, he will live on in my memories thanks to his Peter Pan role (which he reprised on the Lux Radio Theater adaptation).

@Starscreamsfan Yes I agree. It's better to be with the ones that love & care for you than to die alone.

It's even more saddening to know that he could've had a good future had he not turned to drugs like many former child stars.

I'm guessing he wasn't that well known an actor considering they classified him as someone else. Cause they could've recognised him had he been more famous.

@Ross123 Yeah. After Peter Pan, his career pretty much went downhill, which is really sad because he was somewhat of a celebrity. I can tell you this because he wouldn't have reprised his Peter Pan role on the Lux Radio Theater if he wasn't a celebrity (in fact, Lux always used celebrities for their lead characters, while the supporting and minor characters were played by a varied mix of celebrities and recurring radio actors).

Yeah, after Peter Pan, he was pretty much forgotten until 1972.

@Starscreamsfan The first time I read about what happened to his life, and his death, I felt pretty horrible. Learning that one of the voices of your childhood went on to have such a miserable life and lonely death is just... I felt shocked, hurt, and then numb. That's the best way I can put it.

@PsychicVoiceSpy Yeah, I had that very same feeling, too. I can't really describe it.

But even then, his legacy still lives on.

@Regomania I heard he died of heart failure because he was taking drugs. At least that's what I heard.
