Sean Teague fits Koenma the most out of his dub voices. While I don't think it was a good idea to have him voice the infant form, at least he managed to make him sound child-like and somewhat infantile at times, but he was pretty much perfect for the teenage form of the character.

Out of the female voices for him, Brianne Siddall fits Koenma more than Candice Moore, the former sounding most like a child out of the dub's portrayal, if a bit too whiny at times, and the latter sounding alright, if a bit weird with an awkward accent thrown in.

Eric Stuart is incredibly miscast here. The only time I can ever see him fitting Koenma is in the teenage form, which he didn't voice anyway. A good voice actor, in the wrong role, more or less.

I understand it would have made more sense of Koenma was voiced by a female, but I thought Sean did a great job,he was able to capture His funny and serious side perfectly and was just in all around Boss. His voice was perfect for the older Koenma too. I was not Really impressed with Candice or Brianne. I like Eric but we can agree he was miscast

I have mixed feeling with all of Koenma's voices.

I feel Sean Teague's voice is a little too goofy and weird in the toddler form but in his teen form....he's JUST perfect.

Brianne Siddall is perfect and fitting for the toddler form of Koenma but I'm not sure how convincing she'd sound in his other form?

Candice Moore sounds a little too feminine sounding.

Eric Stuart? Seriously.....why him as Koenma of all people? Like if he voicing Hiei or Kuwabara that'd make sense but Koenma? He's really miscast as Koenma. I feel if anyone in New York should have voiced him I think like either Veronica Taylor or Michelle Newman would be more fitting.

I like Mayumi Tanaka best in the toddler form but in the teen form....I wasn't that crazy about it but she is the most solid voice of all.

Of the people here, I'll place my vote on Sean Teague if only for how great he was in the teen form.

Having seen the recent dub of the Golden seal I have to admit... if you ask me Sean's voice is not that good(neither is Kurama's to a lesser extend) it's too doofy sounding, Brianne was childish but in a cute way plus considering the baby form is his actual form you know

@HienFan 1 Brianne
2 Candice
3 Sean
4 Eric- too bad he never really used that voice for his James though...

Sean Teague struck the perfect balance between his infant voice and his slightly deeper teenage voice.

Brianne sounds like a little boy, at least, but something about it sounds a bit juvenile.

Eric Stuart is a good voice actor, but he's really miscast here, enough said.

Candice sounds more like a woman to me, and she's also miscast here.

For what's it worth I think they should have different VA for the baby and adult Koenma

It's weird having the female VAs for the adult one(Never seen the one with Brianne Siddall to see if he used that form there)

And inverse for the baby form

If we're going with overall I prefer Brianne and Candice with Eric dead last

I can understand people mispronouncing names and Japanese terms wrong back in the 90s, but anytime after 2000, I think anime should have gotten a little better at that, and learned from it,

Koenma is just so adorable when Sean voices him, when he 's voiced by a female in english, he sounds too childish, and actually deserves the spankings he gets.

Sean Teague is my pick, as in the FUNi dub, he demonstrated a remarkable ability to capture the boss and kind like aspects of Koenma, while making him sound a bit bratty and self-centered at times. Brianne Sidall makes Koenma sound most like a kid, though, but her performance just falls flat in my eyes when compared to Teague's work.

I love Eric Stuart, but he was miscast here. He was...alright. His voice would be great for Teen Koenma, though, IMO.

Candice Moore is too forced for my taste, but is okay as well.

Sean Teague captures the "boss" aspect of Koenma, while Brianne Sidall captures the "boy" aspect of him. Eric Stuart is miscast and Candice Moore's delivery is incredibly flat.

I suppose a female voice would be more fitting, but Sean really added something to the character's charm and humor. I'm definitely sticking with him, I also thought he was excellent in his older Koenma form.

Since the character was originally voiced by the female Mayumi Tanaka, the only real decision here from my viewpoint is between Siddall and Moore, and from there Siddall easily gets my vote. Moore comes off as kinda flat, plus she mispronounced Botan's name (minor nitpick, I know, but it still bugged me). Siddall just seems more emotional and thus more believable.

Yeah it is kind of interesting to actually hear Koenma having the voice of a child so Brianne is interesting.

Eric Stuart is a good VA but an odd choice that was a bit miscast. Granted to be fair Koenma had a more serious-mannered role in that movie but it still seems a bit odd. (Though also to be fair if that voice was used on Teen Koenma that would've been a different story.)

Sean Teague is a nice medium between the two, but still I liked both Brianne and Sean for different reasons. (With Eric at a fairly miscast second.)

Brianne Siddall sounded the most like a child, while Sean Teague sounded the most like the character. I guess I'm going with him.
