Darren Dunstan is Truly 'One in a Million' as Pegasus. What More Needs To be Said?

Nothing...................................................................................................................... Except That Brian Zimmerman is Really Dry and Stilted in the Role.

 1 Shout Out!
Darren Dunstan is without a doubt one of the things I love about Yu-Gi-Oh in general. He's campy when he needs to be, classy but also menacing and diabolical. Also his voice is almost near dead on to his Japanese counterpart, seriously go watch one ep in Japan and then in English.

Brian Zimmerman is pretty poor. Oh sure he has the camp but he doesn't have the personality or the energy and sounds like he's phoning it in (at best).

Darren Dunstan is honestly amazing as Pegasus. I've watched Duelist Kingdom a few times in both Japanese and English, and it's still incredible how similar he and the JP VA sound to each other! I'm easily voting for Darren here. Always brought his A-game to the role in both the original Yu-Gi-Oh and the few times he appeared in GX.

Brian Zimmerman's voice itself is actually rather fitting. But it's too devoid of any personality for me to really like it unfortunately.

1. Darren Dunstan
Spectacular performance! He is campy as heck, but still sounds very classy and menacing. One of the best voices in the 4Kids dub of Yu-Gi-Oh.
2. Brian Zimmerman
Put bluntly, he sounds like a bad fandubber. Zimmerman lacks the energy and charm Darren Dunstan had.

@GreenGoblin75 I actually think Pegasus was done better in the 4Kids dub than the original Japanese IMO.

I actually agree, though it's mainly because Pegasus in the original Japanese Version strings out his "Desu" for 5 minutes straight at points.

Darren Dunstan, hands down, he actually sounds somewhat campy while also intimidating in the part at the same time.

Brian Zimmerman is way too soft by comparison, and doesn't have much energy in his acting at all.

Darren Dunstan is absolutely fabulous as Pegasus! He strikes the perfect balance between being a diabolical villain and (surprisingly straight) camp. Definitely one of the major highlights in 4Kids dub of Yu-Gi-Oh!

Brian Zimmerman does sound camp but he lacks the enthusiasm, the passion and the theatrics that Darren was able to give to Pegsaus.

Darren definitely wins this one.

Darren Dunstan- Great, but sounded a bit too flamboyant at times when the character needed to be serious, but still did very well.

Brian Zimmerman- Decent voice, but sounds really bored in his acting.

Its weird for me to vote for this comparison but Darren Dunastan i think did best.

Darren Dunstan is one of my favorite Yugioh VAs, so it's not much of a surprise I'm voting for him. His Pegasus is perfect. It's unbelievable how close it is to the Japanese, while still managing to make it his own. He's so good that even the occasional questionable voice direction of the short-lived uncut DVDs didn't stop him from turning out a good performance. It's such a shame those ended before at least finishing Duelist Kingdom.

LittleK makes the abridged voice, sound better than the original :P

Darren Dunstan is phenomenal in this role. You can't really hate him as Pegasus. He sounds very much like the Japanese seiyu for him does, and in addition to that he added his own flair to the character. He demonstrated spectacular range in this role and was able to go from serious to hilarious in a matter of seconds. One of the best performances in the 4Kids' YGO dub in general, really.

Oddly enough, I do like Brian Zimmerman from the Odex dub. He's actually pretty good as well. Regardless, Dunstan is the best.

@OldSchoolFTW Zimmerman has a nice voice for Pegasus: it's the performance that's the problem. He's sleepwalking through it. Pegasus should sound very enthusiastic and theatrical, rather than soft and bland sounding like that other voice does.

"Now, now, Kaiba boy. Let's not get nasty. Not just YET, anyhow."

Pegasus is one of the funniest characters in YGO later on. I still have trouble not cracking a smile hearing his voice even though he was the main villain in the Duelist Kingdom Arc. Darren Dunstan was just beyond hilarious in this role.

@jpg: Pegasus is SUPPOSED to be comedic. He can be serious too though, and Dunstan does it greatly.
