Time to "Chazz it up!"

Tony Salerno couldn't have fit this character more than I could have imagined. He sounds smooth, smug when the character needs to be and the most natural.

Marc Thompson's a great actor but his take on Chazz isn't one of his best roles. In fact it sounds more like Duke Devlin doing an imitation of him but not really succeeding and he sounds too raspy.

Therefore Tony Salerno does things the right way...
the Chazz Princeton way.

Love Anthony Salerno's take. Smooth, age-appropriate, and condescending without being obnoxious.

Marc Thompson's take is raspy and arrogant to the point of being obnoxious. I don't like it as much, but it's fun, if nothing else.

It's too bad Michael Lockwood Crouch wasn't working for 4Kids at the time. The voice he uses for Arc-V's Sylvio would've been the perfect replacement after Anthony left.

@1dbad Honestly I think Anthony Salerno's take as Chazz/Manjoume is pretty interesting. Because it's kinda like Maddie Blaustein's Sartorius. Where it sounds pretty different from the JP voice but still fits really well regardless.

@HylianBelmont It is! Goes to show you don't have to have a similar voice to the Japanese one to fit the character.

@1dbad Definitely! It's why I hope that he'll get the chance to voice the character again someday.

@HylianBelmont That would be cool! Too bad he wasn't one of the characters Arc-V brought back.

@1dbad It's just a really underrated and unique "teenager" voice that deserves to be used more IMO.

@HylianBelmont Agreed. It's a shame he hasn't had a role in a few years!

I'm going with Anthony.

If Marc was less raspy, I'd go with him.

I also prefer Anthony Salerno's smoother and more smug take on the character.

Marc Thompson's take did improve as time passed, but he was always too raspy and scratchy for me. I did get a laugh out of the dialogue in the clip, though.

Anthony Salerno was pretty much perfect for Chazz in every way, and I can't tell you how disappointed I was when his voice changed...

That being said. While Marc Thompson did start out pretty forced, he did improve as the show went on. But when he starts yelling all I hear is Duke Devlin trying to imitate Chazz Princeton.

So yeah Marc isn't really BAD in the role but Anthony Salerno is my favourite here easily.

Anthony Salerno was a better fit and sounded smoother as well as more natural, whereas Marc Thompson sounds pretty forced and raspy.

Wow when I saw this I thought I would vote for Marc(he's a natural for this type of characters and Anthony Salerno is not one of my favourites out there) but here he just sounds weird and doesn't fit his looks very well, I imagine a slimier looking character with a voice like that

Marc Thompson was REALLY forced here. Anthony Salerno just nailed it.

@Galactic_Cyrus To be fair, there were some points where Marc would actually do a pretty good impression of Anthony and could sound pretty funny at some points as well, but most of the time he just sounded like a raspy Duke Devlin.

I've just been watching GX for the first time, and Chazz is one of my favorites, if not my favorite character. I noticed the voice change right away, and was totally taken out of the show. Way too raspy, and doesn't capture any of the arrogance that Salerno did. Doesn't feel right.

I like both of them, but I think Anthony Salerno was more natural and he really grew on me as he got more used to the role.

Marc Thompson sounds a bit forced, but was a pretty good replacement and I enjoy his rendition of the character, too.

Anthony Salerno was great in this role. Marc sounded a little bit TOO raspy, and that would often get in the way when Chazz had to emote.
