Voice Compare » Ys » Pierre
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Pierre with sound clips and images.
Pierre is a minor secondary protagonist from the 3rd installment of the Ys series. Pierre is a cleric from the Church whom conspires with Redmont's Mayor to stop the evil plans of King McGuire however he was capture by King McGuire's White Knight Chester in which Adol must save him. Pierre has a rather small role in the storyline but he does get a somewhat bigger role in the PSP version of the game as a kindly gentle priest of Redmont whom has a slight inferiority complex over his renowned predecessor. Pierre has been referred to by different religious titles such as a Priest, Brother and Father in different English versions of the 3rd Ys game.

EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Ys Voice Compare section we have a little something for this Holy Man of the 3rd Ys Game... PIERRE! We shall begin this with the TurboGrafx CD version of the 3rd YS game in which Sam Peterson plays the role of Pierre in which I can describe his performance with one word... Lukewarm. To be fair Sam's voice for the role is not particularly bad but its not all that great either as his performance was fairly generic as his voice. However in all fairness Pierre was a rather minor role in which he only had a couple of lines so its not like Sam had a lot of material to work with. So in other words Sam Peterson's work as Pierre lets just say wasn't one of the better performances in that game but I have heard a LOT worst in that game.
Now as for the English version of the PSP version of Ys 3 Vic Mignogna gets to take over the role here and like the majority of his cast mates in the PSP version was a strong improvement over the TGCD version. Vic plays the role of Pierre as a calm soft-spoken gentleman rather well as his voice and performance for the role were fairly fitting. However to be fair Vic does have a bit of an advantage here as Pierre has a bit more lines in this version of the game. But still Vic's voice and performance for the role of Pierre was very fitting and a fine example of the voice work in the PSP version of the game. Overall I am clearly going with Vic Mignogna for this VC as Sam Peterson was not the worst but still kind of mediocre.
