Voice Compare » Xenosaga » Ziggy / Ziggurat 8
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Ziggy / Ziggurat 8 with sound clips and images.
Ziggurat 8 (or mainly known as Ziggy from MOMO) is a prominent secondary character from Xenosaga whom made his debut in the 1st episode of the series. Ziggurat 8 is a combat cyborg from Ziggurat Industries whom was originally a 30 year old man by the name of Jan Sauer whom committed suicide when his wife and stepson were killed by U.M.N terrorist Voyager but his body was revived to be a cyborg. Ziggurat is a somber and stoic man whom is haunted by his memories of his lost family but is given more of a reason to live when he is assigned to protect and rescue MOMO whom in which he is like a father figure to her. Ziggy is rather protective of MOMO even when he was not assigned to protect her and tries to encourage Juli Mizrahi whom is MOMO's legal mother to be more "maternal" to her.

EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Xenosaga VC section we take a look at this Combat Cyborg whom is Ziggurat 8 or mainly known as... ZIGGY! In the Xenosaga Trilogy Ziggy was one of the characters whom has had the same English VA throughout the whole trilogy and in this case its none other than Richard Epcar. Richard was pretty much a perfect choice for Ziggurat 8 as his deep and stoic voice was very suiting for this cyborg soldier. Richard's performance was also very suiting for the role here as it not only fits how stoic Ziggy but how genuinely caring he can be as well. So in another words Richard's work as Ziggy is a fine example of his work and one of the better performances in the Xenosaga games.
In the English dub of the Xenosaga Anime from the now late ADV, Jason Douglas gets to take over the role of Ziggy. Jason's voice for the role is not terrible but it is a little too light for the role, granted he makes a decent attempt at trying to sound stoic but still his voice should've been a bit deeper. Though to be fair Jason does make a good attempt in his performance to sound suitably stoic enough for the role though so its not a bad performance especially when viewed by its own merits though. So in other words while Jason's work as Ziggy is not one of his better performances its still a pretty good one nevertheless. Overall I am clearly going with Richard Epcar the most here with Jason Douglas at an okay second.
