Fun fact: Jim Ward was originally gonna do his own thing for Xavier, but decided to emulate Patrick Stewart after hearing Tom Kane do a dead-on Ian McKellen impersonation for Magneto.

Cedric Smith- Not bad, it was caring and intelligent but maybe a bit too high. Also, unless this is a bad clip, his delivery seems off.

David Kaye- Very good example of his work. Very fatherly, warm and caring while being very intelligent without going overbroad. His voice was very soft but did fit more dramtic moments along with lighter ones.

Jim Ward- the accent bothers me, it just feels wrong for the character. It's still feels smart yet caring but the accent feels wrong.

John Stephenson- It's not bad but maybe should have been less raspy but it's still alright not great but not bad.

Patrick Stewart- He was better in the movies, he sounds too light and his delivery sounds off. Live action wise he's great with sounding caring, inteillgent but can go very dramtic without going over the top.

Stan Jones- a bit over the top and the performance seems stiff.

Tom Kane- A really good example of his work. Like Kaye he gives a deep voice that sounds intelligent and caring plus strong and serious.

Dan Green- I'd like to hear more but it sounds like it's a deep (but not too deep voice) while sounding caring and fatherly. I like it.

Unknown- Sounds all wrong for Xavier while being over the top and hammy.

Kayle Herbert- I can't really judge, it doesn't sound horrible but I'd need to hear more.

Cam Clarke- Not bad, a bit light and maybe a bit stiff at times but it's still good.

Ron Halder- Not bad, would need to hear more.

Daran Norris- Lag makes it hard to judge but it sounds good and I could see him doing Xavier in other media.

In the end I like David Kaye and Tom Kane the most

I've watched the X-men movies, and when I heard the voice clip I have to say: Patrick Stewart IS Charles Xavier, no question.

I also really liked David Kaye, Jim Ward and Ron Halder.

Normally I like Tom Kane especially roles like this but here he's just using the same British voice he uses for a lot of characters: e.g. Narrator and Admiral Yularen from Star Wars The Clone Wars, and even Magneto.

Gasp! A Tom Kane voiced character that sounds like Tom Kane? Off with his head!!! :-O

Give me a break. -_-

@TheVengeanceKnight I'm just saying: Tom does have range, but he's just not using it here, the only real difference in this role is that his voice sounds deeper. 0_0 Each to their own if you ask me :)

@TheVengeanceKnight Well that makes sense, considering Magneto was born in Germany, shouldn't he speak German instead of British?! :P

Daran Norris, much like many other post-movie voices for Xavier, seems to be emulating Patrick Stewart. I'll be sticking with the actual Stewart for tihs one.

Unfortunately the source of the video wasn't "clean" so there's a tiny bit of lag, but it's better than nothing.

Patrick Stewart is one of the very few live action actors that I'll say "yes I pick this guy over an actual voice actor", something I normally don't like doing.

My next favorites however are
1. David Kaye
2. Dan Green
3. Tom Kane
4. Cam Clarke
5. Jim Ward

Stephenson gets my vote. The others sounds too familiar to normal a voice ( Clarke, Hebert ) but every other person is doing a patrick stewart impression! While Patrick Stewart did a good job as Professor X he is now considered the go to description for him. Stephenson did the voice before this was started so thats why his sounds the most unique. Either that or he is making up for the jonny quest episodes he didn't get to voice in.... yep thats obscure...

Cam Clarke's voice is too similar to He-Man and Thor voices, so everytime I listen to his performance I see big muscular men and I think that Xavier don't really belong to that catecory.

#1 Patrick Stewart
I think most X-Men fans can come to an agreement here. Simply put, Patrick was born for this role. Looks, voice, acting, he's got it all.

#2 David Kaye/Jim Ward/Dan Green
All three of these voice actors emulated Patrick Stewart perfectly! They sounded so similar that you most likely wouldn't have guessed that it wasn't actually Patrick himself in those cases! Either way, all three of them are very talented and can easily dub Xavier's voice in the live-action movies should the need ever arise.

#3 Stan Jones
He was a great predecessor to anyone else who would take on the role of Xavier in the future, and laid the groundwork quite firmly. Even though the voice acting in animated TV shows didn't have today's high standards his performance delivered the role very nicely.

#4 John Stephenson
Worked off of Stan's quite well, but the raspiness lowers the quality.

#5 Cedric Smith
I do respect that he took a different approach to the character, making his the most unique, but the change makes it quite jarring to listen to. A good voice indeed, but he sounds too sinister for Xavier.

#6 Tom Kane
As always, his voice is great, but he fits Magneto a lot better.

#7 Kyle Hebert
Not much to say about a couple of short phrases, but I suppose he's decent and could have the potential for a bigger role as Xavier.

I agree that Patrick Stewart was born to play Professor Xavier. In any and every form. Unfortunately he can't always be there, in which case, David Kaye is a more than suitable replacement. I don't like Cedric's voice. Like Call Dodd's Wolverine voice, it just sounds too forced.
