X-Men X-Men

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Juggernaut with sound clips and images.
Franchise: X-Men

Infamously known as "The Unstoppable Juggernaut", Cain Marko, step-brother of Charles Xavier who although has inhuman powers, is in fact no mutant. While serving the army in Korea, Marko stumbled upon a temple, where he found a ruby gem that held the power of the entity Cyttorak. There was an inscription on the ruby which read, "Whosoever touches this gem shall be granted the power of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak! Henceforth, you who read these words, shall become ... forevermore ... a human juggernaut!". After reading this, Marko gained superhuman strength and became the Juggernaut.

VC thoughts update

I really like Ron Gans the most in here. His deep voice does sound pretty imposing and his slow delivery does fit a powerhouse like the Juggernaut.

William Marshall does sound powerful and imposing, but he's a bit too intellectual. I kinda wish they had cast Bob Holt as the Juggernaut, since they did use his Hulk roars in here, but Marshall does do a good job nonetheless.

Rick Bennett is also great in the role. He does sound powerful and imposing in the role.

Fred Tatasciore also sounds pretty powerful in the role.

Andrew Kishino also works pretty well in the role. He's perfect for the more lighthearted Lego version.

I also enjoyed Kyle Hebert, George Buza, Paul Dobson, John DiMaggio, Tom Kenny, Peter Lurie, Matt Willig, Travis Willingham and Kevin Michael Richardson in the role.

The UVA is the only dud here.

"I'm The Juggernaut Bitch!"

The Juggernaut needs a voice that just oozes power and pure brute force and I think Paul Dobson captures that aspect perfectly.

Paul Dobson has a nice amount of power and deepness to the role, plus he can ham it up. "I'M RAW POOOOOOOOWER!" that was awesome.

Fred Tatasciore is very appropriately brutish in the role too. Even though he's practically ever brute in the Marvel Universe, he does fit Juggernaut really well.

Peter Lurie is a little bit more out of the box with the casting and I think naturally gruff deep voice fits the role really well.

Rick Bennett is a lot like Peter Lurie, less deep and more gruff but hey it actually fits really well.

George Buza works well for the game he voices in and could have worked voicing him in something else.

Matt Willig sounds excellent too.

William Marshall sounds really good, he has a cool, deep hammy voice, though he makes Juggernaut sound maybe a bit too intelligent.

The UVA and Kyle Hebert are similar though the UVA's voice fits way more.

Kevin Michael Richardson sounds too deep and gruff and makes him sound maybe a bit too dumb.

John DiMaggio sounds way too light which is weird since he should be a natural fit for the role?

Travis Willingham sounds way too light and kinda like a dope.

Tom Kenny is a really out of the box casting idea and he works for The SHSS version but as a traditional version he'd sound way too light.

Ron Gans sounds kinda awkward and forced to me, but still works for the most part.

Andrew Kishino does well at emulating the X-Men III The Last Stand version of Juggernaut complete with the accent and everything.

Overall I'm going with Paul Dobson.

BONUS: I could see Bob Carter being an excellent Juggernaut, I'd also like to see Richard Green, JB Blanc and Michael Dorn have a shot too.

(Announcer voice) Welcome back for another one of Screamerfan's FREAK NOTE:

Although the epic sounding William Marshall recorded the Juggernaut's dialogue, the roars are from Bob Holt's Hulk, taken from Sunbow's sound library.

William Marshall - Not much to say; this was pretty much how a supervillain typically sounded in cartoons at the time.

Patrick Pinney - Kinda bad, but at least he's funny... in an unintentional way, but I'll take what I can get.

UVA & Kyle Herbert - Pretty terrible, but I think they were trying to match the campy voice acting of Pryde of the X-Men; so in that aspect, they succeeded.

Rick Bennett - Sounds kinda forced; really, he's only slightly less goofy-sounding than Patrick. I'd say he fits for the character a bit more, though.

George Buza - ... Um?

Paul Dobson - Quite good; he sounds very powerful and threatening.

John DiMaggio - It's his typical kind of voice; but I think it fits.

Fred Tatasciore - As usual with large, bulky characters, he hits it right out of the park; I liked his higher-pitched voice from X2 as well, to be honest.

Tom Kenny - He's... alright, I guess...? This is a more comical version, though I'm not sure the weird accent was necessary.

Matt Willig - He's a decent fit... not much else to say.

Peter Lurie - The higher-pitched rasp is different from the norm, but I still think it works pretty well.

Kevin Michael Richardson - A nice change of pace for Kev; he does a good job.

Travis Willingham - He's pretty decent; an improvement over Tom Kenny (sorry, Tom).

Andrew Kishino - He's amusing; he reminds me of the version from Last Stand... which I think is what he was going for, so good on him.

Paul gets my vote because he sounds the most threatening as Juggernaut.

Kevin is 2nd while John is 3rd.

Fred does a pretty good job here.

Andrew sounds just Vinnie Jones from Last Srand.

Matt, Rick & Peter are just decent.

Every1 else was just awful as Juggernaut. The Unknown Voice Actor, Kyle & William were the biggest miscasts to me.

Andrew accent is a risk and I think it fits here (I think it was a tie in to X-3: Last Stand). I guess my biggest problem is he doesn't have the power that others have.
said at 8:23 AM on Sat Nov 9 2013
@Music Meister

Considering the attempted "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" reference, I'd say that is a safe assumption.
said at 10:15 AM on Sat Nov 9 2013
@Music Meister They threw in movie reference here and there in the game (though not as many as the web series did). At one point I think Spidey referenced the apartment Peter lived in in the Raimi films.

@VctrBnsn It does if the actor playing Charles has an accent (which I think JAT does) but I never really liked Xaiver with an accent.
said at 11:08 AM on Sat Nov 9 2013
@VctrBnsn Since they're step-brothers you can argue that Charles's mom is from England and Charles got his accent from her, then she met Cain's dad in New York. Depends on how you look at it.

@Anicomicgeek True and judging from his page Juggernaut was one of his first roles the first roles on record there being Magneto and Sabretooth and Juggernaut was his 3rd role so it's since he was an inexperienced VA back then he's improved a lot obviously in the almost 10 years it's been since then so he got a chance to redeem his performance in that game.

Matt Willig or Rick Bennett for me.

Speaking of Rick, he voiced Jugg in the Capcom games starting with Marvel Super Heroes. In CotA he was voiced by the same guy who did Colossus and Omega Red, you can tell by the grunts and shouts. I can't tell whether or not that's Buza or Hennessey, but it's definitely not Bennett.
