Voice Compare » X-Men » Gambit
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Gambit with sound clips and images.
Gambit (real name Remy LeBeau) is a thief from New Orleans and a member of the X-Men. He specializes in fighting with a staff and card throwing. He and Rogue are in a relationship.
Gambit was voiced by Chris Potter for the first few seasons of the 90's X-Men cartoon. Tony Daniels took over for the last season, and also voiced him for several fighting games. Since then, Gambit's voice actors have been more consistent, but he nonetheless has a lot.
Special thanks to Foxwolf for the X-Men: Next Dimension clip.

They all do good work but I gotta go with Chris Potter.

Definitely Chris Potter. On another note, who else thinks Jeff Bennett would make an awesome Gambit??

@JaredTaylor94 Jeff Bennett would probably do a very good job as Gambit, as would Nolan North.

@BurtLancaster1913 Never thought of Nolan North! It would most likely be better than his Cyclops.

@JaredTaylor94 If he went into his higher register, maybe.

I voted for Alessandro Juliani. Even though they deaged the character I still think his is the best.

Wow! I thought this one would be pretty one-sided for me, but everybody sounded really good! The only one that feels really out of place is Alessandro Juliani. I think his voice is too high, plus the accent is off by quite a bit in comparison to the other actors.
Overall, I'd have to say Chris Potter is my #1 choice, followed by Tony Daniels second and Phil LaMarr third. Chris Edgerly gets an honorable mention as well.

@pete LOLOL 90s fanboys and their nostalgia clouding their vision and making them biased. [/irony] :-P

No offense, but yeah, I have to echo what TheVengeanceKnight said. I've noticed that you the poll results go your way (like prefering the 90s Marvel shows), you don't accuse them of being biased; but when they don't (such as gonig with the modren shows), you do.

@Anicomicgeek Heh, I wasn't really accusing him of anything, I was just making a joke. :-P But you do make some good points.

@Anicomicgeek That's like someone who prefers Spectacular saying Spectacular fans are biasing.

@pete
No, it's not. You criticized the results of the Spider-Man polls results, claiming it's biasing towards Spectacular, yet both here and on the Cyclops poll, you cheered when the voices from the 90s cartoon are in the lead, voices you stated a preference for.

You also cheered during the brief time when Linda Gray was leading in the Aunt May poll before Deborah Strange regained it.

You know, I could say the same thing about you.
Case in point: let's look at the other polls when someone says something bad about a popular show like SSM. The Doc Ock poll, for instance. Pete says he doesn't like Peter MacNicol, then you two come in to defend it.
Here, Pete likes Chris Potter best, so now he's a '90s fanboy clouded by nostalgia. Or on the Venom poll, TheVengeanceKnight claims to have no clue why Ben Diskin isn't winning. How is that any less biased or fanboyish than Pete being glad that his favourite has the most votes?
Sorry, nothing against you two personally, but I needed to get this off my chest. I'm tired of how on all the superhero voice compares, people can't have different opinions without getting called out on it. Why can't we all be friends?

@Anicomicgeek In addition to what NCZ said if I like voice what's the point of attacking other people who do? It is the same thing indeed.

My favorite is Chris Potter because he puts the most cajun into it. Gambit is from Louisiana after all. I think Tony Daniels is great as well. After those two I like Phil LaMarr and Chris Edgerly. I'm sorry to say this, but I hate Alessandro Juliani's Gambit. The accent doesn't sound consistent with the character and I personally just don't like it. Though I did like him in Battlestar!

I'm going with Tony Daniels. I like how he uses a french accent for Gambit. My other faves are Chris Potter, Phil LaMarr and Alessandro Juliani.

My favorite is Chris Potter. He's the original Gambit, and still the best. I'll agree with Mini Wolfsbane about Juliani's voice.

What about the dude that did the voice of Gambit in the last season of X-men animated series ? his voice was totally different than chris potter's through out the rest of the season. my vote still goes to Chris potter though.

Juliani's voice for Gambit was very hot! (To me. Others may not feel that way.) He did a great job with it, but something in particular about it is just total ear candy for me. So deep and velvety, so rich. *drools* What, I'm a girl! :)
Chris Potter rocks too, but doesn't stir the deep recesses of my insides (Oh what??) like Juliani as Gambit can. I was surprised that he doesn't really sound like that in his live-action roles.
(Except sometimes when the character he is playing is having a serious moment. Love him in Smallville!)
Now the others just range from good to not-so-good or even awful, depending. I've spent too much time yammering, but Edgerly struck me as very 'Gambit' sounding.

Juliani gets my vote, as the accent doesn't feel laid on, and feels more subtle. There's a clarity to his voice that I always felt Alessandro captured that the others never did for me. Though Potter was alright.

Phil LaMarr? Are you kidding me???? Phil Lamarr is the worst. He sounds more Jamaican than Southern. Chris Potter is number 1.

My favorites have to be Phil LaMarr, Tony Daniels, Chris Edgerly & Scott MacDonald! Chris Potter & Michael Dunn were pretty good too, but Alessandro Juliani has to be my least favorite out of them.
