So my second favorite X-Man after Nightcrawler is the mountainous steel giant with a heart of gold, Colossus. Upon looking at him for the first time, you might expect his character to be the typical dumb muscle, but no. Here is one of the most compassionate X-Men characters who cares not only about his family and friends, but also his country.

EDITOR'S OPINION

In the Fox 90's series, we only got 2 episodes with Colossus. The first one he was introduced as an innocent foreigner. Rick Bennett played him with naivity but also with awareness.

Robert Cait took over the role in the ep where Omega Red was trying to take over Russia. His voice was pretty similar to Bennett's, and with the chance to give some real depth to Colossus' patriotism, I feel the strength and acting of the voice did not do the character justice.

Also, in both cases the voice was not powerful and deep enough, even though it worked well in the first episode.

This was certainly not the case with Michael Adamthwaite's portrayal of Colossus. To me, he was dead on with the voice. The accent and braverity was spot on and he put a lot of emotion into what little lines he had. You could tell the whole way through that he was frustrated at having to work for Magneto out of black mail.

The rest of the voices, I really haven't listened to enough dialogue to make an analysis. All sound more or less like similar Russian accents. Adamthwaite's stands out above the rest by far. What I did find a waste was the American accent given to Colossus in X-Men: The Official Game. While I understand in the movie Daniel Cudmore had no accent, I thought the game wasted a great opportunity to stay true to the Russian giant.
