Voice Compare » X-Men » Avalanche
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Avalanche with sound clips and images.
Avalanche is a mutant and recurring antagonist of the X-Men who first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #141 (January 1981). Avalanche's real name is Dominikos Ioannis Petrakis and he was originally from Crete, Greece. A professional mercenary, he first appeared alongside Mystique and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in an assassination attempt on Senator Robert Kelly. Even though the attack failed, Avalanche and the Brotherhood continued on with other attacks of terrorism for mutantkind. When not with the Brotherhood, his own personal criminal career involved attempting to blackmail California for a large sum of cash or he'll trigger a huge earthquake, but was stopped by the Hulk. Later on, his friend and fellow Brotherhood member Pyro was infected with the Legacy Virus and he tried to find a cure for him, but ultimately failed. After M-Day, he was one of the few mutants to keep his powers and he decided to leave the life of crime and open a bar in San Francisco. Avalanche has the ability to to create seismic waves from his hands that affect inorganic material to shatter or crumble.

EDITOR'S OPINION
For this X-Man voice compare, we have recurring X-Man villain Avalanche. The actors all did fine for the character they portrayed, but the ones that stand out were Christopher Gray, for making Evolution's Avalanche a much more sympathetic character than just a generic thug, and James Patrick Stewart, for adding a Greek accent for Avalanche.UltimateCharm

Christopher Gray had more range for the role. From his more menacing moments, to comical moments, to even sympathetic moments.
James Patrick Steward is alright but still sounds like a thug but he adds an accent.
Other two aren't bad but not very rememberable

No offense, but considering Avalanche in the comics IS a thug, I'm not sure saying JPS's version sounds like one is a strike in this case.

Considering Stuart's in the lead, many people, myself included, don't agree with you about that.

Anyone else find it funny that there are two Patrick Stewarts involved with X-Men franchise?

I'm gonna go with James Patrick Stuart, though Peter Lurie was good, too. Christopher Gray was also good, but the others were closer to the comics Avalanche.
