Voltron Voltron

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Keith with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Voltron

Commander Keith is the leader of the Voltron force and pilot of the Black Lion.He is usually depicted as quiet and calculating. He sometimes can butt heads with the more gung-ho members of the team.

I am a huge Neil Ross fan but for this one I actually like the more dark and mysterious tone that Giles Panton gives to the character. I think it makes Keith even that much more likable as the Voltron Leader.

All these Keith's are too different characters to compare. They all did fine for each Keith.

I think Ross works best here. Yeun is not bad at all, either. He has a really down-to-earth sound to his performance. Panton doesn't sound as good as the others.

Steven Yeun does get better later on though my no.1 doesn't change, Neil just sound so sweet and dorky

I never said this before but I actually like Neil's work in Third Dimension it's a great older take

I'm Liking Giles Panton's Keith voice the most. His world weary, yet compassionate Keith voice stands out the most for me.

Steven Yeun's Keith is solid From an Acting Standpoint, so he's a good second place.

Neil Ross was Endearing as Keith in the Original series...... but Horribly stilted in Voltron: The Third Dimension (most likely due to weak Voice Direction). I'd Rank Neil's Original Keith Performance 3rd and his 'Third Dimension' performance last.

Season 2 was really Keith's season, and I'm happy to say that Steven lived up all to all my initial expectations. Fantastic performance; my vote goes to him.

Neil Ross has the most kind & likable portrayal of Keith, as corny as it may sound.

Giles Panton has the most dark as well as mysterious performance as Keith.

Steven Yeun has the most inquisitive and questioning take on Keith.

Tough call...I'll have to watch more Voltron before deciding on the best one here.

I am only passing by here, but incidentally, in the first clip, Neil sounds a bit like Dave Wittenberg aka Kakashi-sensei. I say incidental because this dub more or less made up the voices...yet in the Japanese track, Keith *happens* to be voiced by Kakashi.

I prefer Giles, though I like Steve, too. Sounds kinda light, but it's good.

Although I know almost nothing about this show, so yeah..

Steven Yuen definitely has my vote, but in terms of character... Not so much. He really was focused on the least in the Voltron Force. I believe that will change in the next season, though.

After reading over the comments below and relistening to some of Panton's more heroic moments I'm going to tie Panton & Yeun as my favorite.

Neil Ross is a fantastic actor, but he sounds WAY too corny (although it was the '80s).

Giles Panton my favorite he got that cool leadership roles down

Neil ross is classic he worked for in the original series

Steven Yeun is good all though when season 2 comes around he should be put in the forefront we hardly got any backstory from him

@batcool I think Johnny Yong bosch, Jason Griffith, and Austin tindle would make good choices for Keith

Panton... by literally a coin toss between him and Neil.

What do you think of Yeun?

@GreenGoblin75 Sorry, only just saw this now.

The only thing against him is that his voice is a little too... "stock standard" for a want of better terms but so far his performance is very solid.

Giles just has that cool, loner-type voice as well as a solid performance. And Neil Ross... Is Neil Ross. Enough said XD

@GreenGoblin75 Steven good but the characterization in legendary defender can be to blame

Steven was okay but that's about it, this is mostly just generic protagonist voice, sticking with Neil with Giles second

The problem I have with Keith in the new series is he is just sorta there, he doesn't really do much and barley has a personality.
Steven does well with what he has to work with but you can tell once in a while that he is new behind the mic.

Giles Panton does it better. Neil Ross is so corny sounding, especially in the original.

I gotta go Ross, he sounds caring and friendly making him very likable.
Panton isn't bad but he always sounds like he's planning something evil.
