Easily going with Mike Mcshane, something about his take on the character really brought something of a wisecracking and sharp tone to his voice that made his character hilarious at times.

Michael McConnohie though really doesn't do it for me, another miscasting that sounded a bit loose and frail.

@Skullgrin140 Yeah, I agree; the Streamline version of VHD wasn't that great. I wonder how Andy will fare?

@JTurner Aside from an Excess of Distortion effects on his voice, Andy McAvin's performance as the Left Hand is Quite good...

@EPA Deane Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. I could have done without the distorted voice effect (McShane's turn in BLOODLUST proves that it works fine without out), but yes, Andy DOES give a much more competent performance than McConnohie did. I still say McShane is the definitive voice for the character, but for this movie, McAvin edges out his Streamline counterpart.

(Amusing how all three actors are Mc's!)

I'm probably in the minority here when I say that I prefer Michael McShane as D's Left Hand over McConnohie. Although I understand where the Macek dub is coming from in terms of casting the same actor to voice D as the one to do his left hand, in my opinion, the cheesy dialogue took a tone on his delivery. He also comes across as condescending and annoying more often than not.

McShane is much more funny and enjoyable by comparison. In part because he's not as annoying, but because his one-liners are genuinely hilarious, especially the last one. "You're not so bad after all, you just DRESS bad." That sums up my preference.

Michael McConnohie's short but memorable performance as the symbiotic left hand is excellent. One of the stronger performances in the Carl Macek directed dub and it stands as some of my favorite voice work that McConnohie has ever done. The fact that the performance is 22 years old and still holds up quite well after all these years is remarkable in itself. Michael McShane isn't bad but his performance doesn't even come close to matching McConnohie's great performance.

You can't beat that sample clip! It's the perfect example: two very different voices, same voice actor. Bloodlust can't touch that.

Not only did I prefer McConnohie's voice as the better voice even though McShane did do a great job in 2000's Bloodlust.
