Jack Merluzzi is last, though I like his voice when I picture a younger Ratchet in my head (which is very, very hard)

In Fred's defense it does sound better in War & Fall of Cybertron games. Though personally, I would go with Robert Foxworth.

Robert is my favourite voice for Ratchet here. I thought he was excellent in the films even if Ratchet was barely in them.

Don is 2nd and he gets my respect for bein the first voice which isn't always easy.

Jeffrey is 3rd as he sounds kinda similar to Robert's performance in the films, at least in my opinion.

Corey I thought was a bit rough on the voice but he's still pretty good.

Bronco, Fred & Wally were all just average & bland.

Jack is a total miscast. Ratchet is a medical officer, NOT a hipster. Well at least that's what he sounds like to me.

Don Messick - He does a good job; sounds wise and elderly.

Wally Burr - One of his better stand-in performances, IMO.

Jack Merluzzi - I would ask what was up with the Brooklyn accent, but even without the accent, it would still be terrible.

Robert Foxworth - Even though he didn't get much time to shine, I think he did a great job as Ratchet, especially during his scene in the 4th movie.

Fred Tatasciore - I liked his performance in High Moon's Cyberton games; I like how he gave him a British accent, like Foxworth.

Corey Burton - A solid performance, I think; though the voice is a bit like a basic cartoony old man.

Jeffrey Combs - I love Combs; he's the definitive Ratchet for me, giving him a bit more depth.

Bronco Jackson - Not bad, but kinda generic-sounding.

Messick is RATCHET!!! He pulls off a great performance, and his banter with characters like Sparkplug and Ironhide made him a lot more enjoyable for me.

I wonder of Peter MacNicol would make a good Ratchet?

For my most honest opinion here, I have to go with the majority and go for Jeffrey Combs. For me, this is not only one of the best animated character performances of the TF franchise, but it's one of the best animated portrayals of all time. Never have I felt more conviction, emotion, and all-around perfection within a character['s voice work] save for only a few select others (which I cannot, for the love of Primus, remember who they are). TFP is what I would consider voice-acting nirvana, and Ratchet is one of the main reasons why.

Don Messick is very memorable with the first Ratchet. Then again, all G1 characters were that way.

Foxworth marked the first VA I heard of the bunch, and to be honest, while it's not my favorite (or necessarily in the Top 3), I still find his take to be very decent, though not very memorable (to be fair, he barely had any screen time, which is the movie's fault). Though I don't hold the most respect for the 'Bayformers' films, the voice acting still holds up well overall.

Burton, I have to say, was the most entertaining of the bunch with his personality. But even then, it's still a great rendition to fit with the show.

Going by Fall of Cybertron (NOT Transformers: the Game), Tatasciore also does great justice towards the character.

Aside from that, the rest I'm not too big on.

But above all, Combs wins my vote by a landslide.

I'm actually going with Robert Foxworth. While I don't like the Michael Bay movies I have to admit, Robert makes Ratchet sound like a tried, true, and determined team memeber.

I don't understand how Jeffery Combs is the top voted though. He nailed the old, rusty voice. But he doesn't sound as solemn as Robert Does.

@LordofEvil96 Keep in mind though that they're different portrayals. You're right, Jeff's Ratchet doesn't sound as solemn as Robert's, but Jeff/TFP wasn't really going for solemn. One is a solemn, down-to-earth Ratchet, the other is a grumpy, cantankerous old 'bot. I agree with you about Robert (I voted for him too), but TFP's Ratchet is just more entertaining to watch. :)

I don't really like Corey Burton's take on the character. It sounds too forced. Really, I have to say my favorite is Robert. He gave a cool voice that sounded older but not forced. Jeffrey gives an entertaining performance as well, and Fred does just fine, even if I've heard him use that voice before.

@VctrBnsn Corey does sound forced at times, but I don't hate his performance.

@BlankSlate I don't think I can ever truly hate Corey, I just think he could have done better. He did do some great work for the series though, his Megatron was awesome!

Jeffrey Combs is the definitive voice of Ratchet.

I love it when he spazzes out "I NEEDED THAT!"

That being said I also liked Corey Burton and Don Messick in the role.

My top two are Foxworth and Combs. Both have memorable voices without being too zany and 'out-there'. Foxworth is a great live-action Ratchet, and Combs is the best animated Ratchet, in my opinion.

Jeffrey Combs is now my new favourite. He sounds just like a modern Don Messick, with the snarky medic attitude Ratchet needs.

Don Messick was able to do a great "serious" voice for Ratchet, and he could get the character's more snarky moments down too. Fred Tatasciore is my second favourite. Sounds very much like a medic.
