I don't really like Corey Burton's take on the character. It sounds too forced. Really, I have to say my favorite is Robert. He gave a cool voice that sounded older but not forced. Jeffrey gives an entertaining performance as well, and Fred does just fine, even if I've heard him use that voice before.

@VctrBnsn Corey does sound forced at times, but I don't hate his performance.

Having not seen the G1 cartoon, I wouldn't have been able to tell that Burton was doing an impression of Messick!

2. Jeffrey combs
3.Robert Foxworth

Jeff Combs is fantastic as "Prime" Ratchet!
I also liked Don Messick, Corey Burton and Robert Foxworth

Jeffrey Combs is the definitive voice of Ratchet.
I love it when he spazzes out "I NEEDED THAT!"
That being said I also liked Corey Burton and Don Messick in the role.

Giving this to Jeffrey Combs, though Don Messick, Corey Burton, Robert Foxworth, and Fred Tatasciore were also good as Ratchet.

My top two are Foxworth and Combs. Both have memorable voices without being too zany and 'out-there'. Foxworth is a great live-action Ratchet, and Combs is the best animated Ratchet, in my opinion.

Jeffrey Combs is now my new favourite. He sounds just like a modern Don Messick, with the snarky medic attitude Ratchet needs.

I like most of these actors, except Jack Merluzzi and Wally Burr. Also, was i the only one who expected Ratchet to blurt out, "Dammit Jim I'ma Doctor!", at some points throughout Jeffrey Combs clip? LOL, :)!

Can the author of this page get a clip from War for Cybertron? Even though he's still voiced by Taticsiore he has a somewhat different voice, different enough for his own clip. Thank you.
Anyway, my vote goes to Robert Foxworth.

My thoughts:
Don Messick: He's great as Ratchet, even though he's using his own voice rather than a created voice.
Corey Burton: Great Messick Impression.
Fred Tatasciore: He makes Ratchet sound not only like a medic, but he also gives the feel that he's a warrior, like G1 comic book Ratchet.
Robert Foxworth: Yeah, it's good. His voice gives Ratchet an elderly feel.
Wally Burr: Yeah, it's fine as far as replacements go.
HINT: Didn't like Jack Merluzzi

Don Messick was able to do a great "serious" voice for Ratchet, and he could get the character's more snarky moments down too. Fred Tatasciore is my second favourite. Sounds very much like a medic.

jhdskjasjhdasfjhdfsh, Don didn't die until 1997, he just wasn't available to record his voice during one episode of G1, the same thing happened with John Stephenson and Scatman Crothers for Thundercracker and Jazz Respectfully in other single episodes, so Wally did the voices instead.

Don Messick bless his soul was perfect as Ratchet, Wally Burr wasn't too bad, but Corey Burton's is just brilliant, very much like Don's, Foxworth's is rubbish.

This is what they should have done: After Don had died they could have easily replaced him with Corey. It's That simple!

I don't understand how Jeffery Combs is the top voted though. He nailed the old, rusty voice. But he doesn't sound as solemn as Robert Does.
