What would be funny if Cam Clarke could voice Bumblebee. I picked Him to do Bumblebee, because of His Leonardo tone. I know it's strange, but it's still be awesome.

What would be funny if E.G. Dailey voiced Bumblebee. I picked Her Because of Tones of Babe, and Steve from Curious George. I know it's odd, but it would be fun.

@30Rockefeller I'd be all for that. Either as a male character with EG's voice, or as a female Bumblebee.

I'll go with Will Friedle for the time being. I think he gave a solid performance in Prime, but in my opinion he just wasn't given quite enough to do with it before Prime ended. Hopefully he'll really get to make the role his own and do something special with it in the upcoming series.

Johnny Yong Bosch sounds pretty good too, but since I haven't played WFC I don't know much about his performance as a whole. I might change my vote to him at a later date.

I have to say, Bumper Robinson did an excellent job at giving Bumblebee a distinct voice and energetic, fun performance... but at certain points I absolutely loathed the character in Transformers Animated. I can safely say he was my least favorite character out of the entire series, and since the character started to get on my nerves I started to find the performance obnoxious as well. I hope Bumber gets to play the character again sometime in the future where Bumblebee is more compelling and likable than in TFA, because he did REALLY well with it despite how sick of the character I got while watching the show.

I'm not that crazy about the other three, but Dan Gilvezan does make the character sound charming and likable from what I can tell from the clip.

Toss up between Johnny and Will. They both have the similar charm to them. It's a shame Johnny didn't get a chance to play the character more.

I'm actually picking some voice actors for this in head series I'm drawing out. I'm having some difficulties with a few voices, Bumblebee's one of them. He's just had some very good actors (nope.avi to Jack Merluzzi)

Dan Gilvezan - He's very endearing and likable.

Mark Ryan - I like him; though I prefer him in Transformers: Beginnings (where he isn't so heavily modulated) and in the newer films, which make his brief clips sound more high-pitched.

Bumper Robinson - He was a great choice for this version of Bumblebee; I thought that he actually sounded a bit Tom Kenny-esque at times.

Johnny Yong Bosch - He did a good job, he sounds very natural.

Will Friedle - As usual, Will sounds young, snarky, and energetic, fitting Bumblebee like a glove.

Dan sounds youthful and entertaining in the role, and he does have some pretty good lines throughout the whole series. Not much to say really, it's just a good performance from Dan. 7.5/10

Mark is an interesting case. Being that I would've loved to hear more of this more original take on Bumblebee, it's just too bad they cheaped out and made him mute again in the next movie. I think the vocal effects used while sounding odd (I've said before I think it sounds like a speak and spell), do work here I feel and Mark does sound good in the role despite the few lines given. 7/10

Bumper was a great choice in this role. Bumper has a perfect amount of energy and youth to his voice and made Bumblebee one of the most entertaining characters on the whole show, especially whenever he would freak out. 7.75/10

Jack sounds incredibly annoying in this role, and sounds like he's really trying to sound young, but is trying a bit too hard because it sounds like he's almost stressed out while doing the voice. Plus that first line is just ear rapingly annoying. 2.5/10

Johnny again like Bumper was a natural choice for the role I feel. His voice is youthful enough and fits absolutely perfect in the role, and he really nails the personality of the character well. 8/10

Will is just fantastic in this role I feel. While I love Bumper and Johnny, I feel Will had something about his delivery and his voice that just fit the character extremely well. He was charming in the role, he sounded youthful, and he also added this bit of sarcasm that really fit the role extremely well. 8.5/10

1. Will
2. Johnny
3. Bumper
4. Dan
5. Mark
6. Jack

I imagine Bee sounding young, responsible, and humble, but with a funny side. I don't think he should act like a total goof, but more like the type who makes jokes often, to lighten the mood and keep his own spirits up (so, in other words, a LOT like Spider-Man). That said, it's really tough between Johnny Yong Bosch and Will Friedle for me, but I also really like Gilvesan in the role. In the end though, I'm gonna go with Will. He sounds like a young scout who's been through a lot and is wondering what fate has in store for him, but still optimistic about it. Bumper and Ryan were pretty good, but Jack Merluzzi was just... um, how do I say this nicely? He's Just, really, really... whiny.

This is a tough one, that's for sure. Bumper is a great hyperactive character, and Friedle does a great young, hesitant character. Really not sure who to vote for.

Not too impressed with Mark Ryan's voice for 'Bee (the little of it that we heard). I would've liked to have heard him flesh out the voice a bit more in subsequent films, since it seemed like he could've done really well. Even if they made some sort of psuedo-Wreck Gar voice that was a mix of radio of actual dialogue, I think that would've been cool. Made him unique, but also kept that "silent" portrayal of him that they were going for intact.

@TylerMirage This is Bay we're talking about. Something like that is hardly going to make a film of his unless he decides to change directions. Although, I get what you're saying.

Having Bumblebee go mute again in RotF after the ending of the first movie, however, was a HUGE mistake on whoever is responsible (could've been somebody other than Bay).

I pick Will Friedle as Bumblebee's voice actor. He was awesome has his voice in Predacons Rising. If I were in charge of a new Transformers series, I'd cast him. Also, if Bumblebee were to be like the version in Transformers Animated, Friedle's Ron Stoppable version voice will make it really convincing!

Dan is the best with Johnny 2nd & Will 3rd (better than Deadpool any day for Will).

Bumper did not bad but Jack sucks because he sounds like a girl in the 1st part of the clip.

Mark doesn't have much 2 say as Bumblebee never talks in the film until the end.

Gilvezan: He may seem a bit old to play the role, but IMHO, he gives a great performance that leaves a great impact (for me, at least).
Ryan: Perhaps if Bay didn't screw up with RotF, I would've liked Bumblebee a lot more. Decent voicework, though.
Robinson: While this rendition seems a bit annoying/over-the-top, I give a lot of credit that it was the intention. I enjoyed it very well.
Merluzzi:......What the frag did I just listen to?
Bosch: Okay, forgive me: this is a good (even great) performance, and it fits the personality nicely, but......I don't get it. This is exactly how I feel with Fred Willard as Swindle: I should love the voice, but....I don't. Instead, the voice actually kind of throws me off. And tbh, it didn't leave as much an impact on me as it did with, say, Dan. Sorry for being so 'harsh', but that's honestly how I feel.
Friedle: I think THIS was what I was expecting more of when it came to Bosch's Bumblebee: young, energetic, and humorous (which I did get from Bosch). But the voice I think sounds MUCH more fitting for the overall character than JYB.

I might get panned for saying that, but it's the truth. For me, it comes between Gilvezan and Friedle. In the end, the tie is overtaken by Friedle by mere inches. Bosch still comes 3rd with Robinson right behind, followed by Ryan and....whatever the scrap that other one was.

@CatsTuxedo Here's the thing, the only reason Bumper sounds like the tag-along kid is because his version of Bumblebee is the only to be the tag-along kid. Transformers has several different continuities and the only Bumblebees that are the exact same character are Dan's and Jack's and even that's debatable.

For me, likewise with everyone else, my vote is between Johnny, Dan and Will (though Mark, Jack and Bumper were also really good.)

As of his roles as Deadpool and now Bumblebee, I respect Will a lot more than I used to.
Johnny is of course, an amazing actor, and Dan is great as a classic Bee.

In the end... Will gets my vote. He sounds like the inexperienced, practical joker of the bots but also gets down Bumblebee's serious moments, like in this clip for example, not to mention a unique voice too.
I love Johnny but, I just can't get his other roles out of my mind when I hear him as Bee (Lalouch, Zero, Itchigo etc.)
Dan was great too, but sounds a tad bit old IMO.

So to sum them all up:
1. Will
2. Johnny
3. Dan
4. Bumper
5. Mark
6. Jack

@NCZ I read comments that imply he's more serious WFC. I never played it so my bad.
said at 7:51 PM on Tue Aug 13 2013
@Smarttamarr94 here's my ranking
Will Friedle & Johnny Yong Bosch - Both retain Bumblebee's youth excellently and give his warrior side justice as well
Dan Gilvezan - is classic Bumblebee and is always a thrill to listen to
Bumper Robinson - Well to be fair, he gave Bumblebee a rather "class-clown" feel to him which became annoying over time unfortunately
Mark Ryan - I suppose it's passable for the little lines Bumblebee received but then Bumblebee wouldn't be as "adored" as he is if that were to be his voice all the time.
Jack Merluzzi - Absolutely irritating. I can't listen to it for half a second without soon growing a migraine.

Bumblebee needs to talk like in the original show and animated and all the shows he talked in so why Michael Bay made him not talk I have no clue
said at 1:49 AM on Thu Jul 4 2013
@Deadpool99 He didn't screw up the Transformers, but that's your opinion. Bumblebee should have regained his speech, as he did in the ROTF video game. Mark Ryan did an excellent job portraying Bee in that. I wish we could have seen it in the films. Also, this is a different incarnation of Bumblebee. He isn't the inexperienced scout/spy he was in G1. He's an experienced warrior in the Autobot ranks and has seen plenty of battle, much like his Prime version, probably starting out inexperienced and reckless.

said at 5:21 PM on Tue Jul 16 2013

THat's good.:) But when I said "I'm not holding my breath for JYB to come back", I wasn't so much talking about 'Bee not talking so much as despite saying the games and Prime are in the same universe, Hasbro and co. haven't bothered with any sort of continuity for voice actors outside of Peter Cullen as Optimus.
said at 12:58 AM on Wed Jul 17 2013
@Anicomicgeek The games and Prime actually ARE in separate universes.

The prequel stories to Transformers Prime actually came in the form of two novels, Transformers: Exodus and Transformers: Exiles.

The novels have HUGE plot differences from the games, so I don't think the two are even remotely connected.
NCZ (Admin)
said at 1:07 AM on Wed Jul 17 2013
@bumblebeebug Haven't really been paying attention to this stuff lately, but I distinctly recall Hasbro saying back in 2010 that the novels, Prime, and the games are all in the same universe, in spite of all the inconsistencies.
said at 11:37 AM on Wed Jul 17 2013
@NCZ I remember that, and it just adds to the confusion. The way TFwiki describes it is that they're different continuities in the same continuity family.

When I first played WFC, I thought it was a prequel to G1 until I saw that Breakdown, Silverbolt, and Air Raid were in the game.
said at 2:19 PM on Wed Jul 17 2013

No offense, but I'm gonna side with NCZ on this issue: Hasbro hasn't, to my knowledge, backed away from the declaration that the games and Prime are in the same universe (and in fact, added Rescue Bots to it) and the Wiki's stance isn't Hasbro's official stance.
said at 11:33 PM on Wed Jul 17 2013
@Anicomicgeek No offense taken at all, this is actually quite an intriguing discussion.

But back on the current topic, I saw an E3 interview with Matt Teiger (game director for WFC and FOC) where he was asked what continuity the games were in. He said that the games were a new continuity, but they took a lot of inspiration from the Prime continuity (specifically, Cliffjumper's head design).

@TheVengeanceKnight I'm pretty sure he meant that in spite of your "flawless" breed of logic, Bumblebee is very much alive and kicking. If anything, a character who keeps in such high spirits in the face of widespread death and destruction sounds like a pretty effective morale-booster in a group. I don't actually know much if anything about the character, so I'm just going by what's already been brought up.

Also, keep in mind that real-life-brand logic doesn't exactly fly in the world of cartoons.

@ConfusedPhantom It doesn't show in that clip, though.

My favorites are Dan and Bumper's voices. Dan's my favorite since he still has the same voice like he did for the 80s Spiderman series. Bumper's also my favorite as well since he sounds perfect for Bumblebee in the Animated series.

Dan Gilvezan is my favorite. It's hard to believe he's never reprised his role, but yet he has with Spider-Man (whom he isn't as good as playing in my opinion).

After playing War for Cybertron, I've changed my mind. I think Bosch did a really good job as Bumblebee.

My Thoughts:

1) Dan Gilvezan: Great and charming performance. Gilvezan is widely recognized as Bumblebee.

2) Jack Merluzzi: Liked his energetic performance. It's better than his Starscream.

3) Mark Ryan: At first he made a great performance in the animated comic Transformers Beginnings, his voice was like a teenager which gave hope, but in the movie he just had to lines, but in the ROTF he has more prominence and actually Ryan altered his voice to show us that Bumblebee was more experienced and older than he was in Beginnings or the Movie.

4) Bumper Robinson: Great performance as a hyperactive Bumblebee.

5) Johnny Yong Bosch: His voice revives the G1 character's spirit and it's a great performance.

Personally, i do like Johnny,s Bumblebee: this of course only my opinion, but in this game, he is young autobot(most likely what Cheetor was for Beast Wars), with little experienced, even if he already talented warrior. Like some of his friend said, Johnny has great hero voice, and one of the few ;heroic; voices i can listen without getting antsy.

Bumber did nice job for more ;teenager;, goofy version of the character. I actually liked that while remaining loyal to Hasbro created phenomanal, TF:Animated didnt tried to follow too strickly in rules and tried something new too, including some minor character changes.

Dan Gilvezan goes for crown here, when it comes down to older/mature Bumblebee: he remarked character with both friendly additude and quick-witted quircks, making him likeable character whom would inspire many his alikes to be sparked in future generations of Transformers.

I do admire Mark Ryan,s work he did to create Bublebee, but i aint too fond of that British voice: it sound bit too sophisticated for carefree yet brave protector.

I'm not really the biggest fan of Bosch's performance. He made Bumblebee sound too much like Ichigo Kurosaki.

It's tough choosing between Bumper Robinson and Dan Gilvezan, but I think I liked Gilvezan a little better.

I agree, Ryan's performance in the ROTF Video game is a lot better than the movie one

Dan Gilvezan's Bumblebee had a more "mature" voice than Bumper Robinson's. They're both great though. As for Mark Ryan... that Bumblebee got all of two lines, but they didn't sound that great.
