I love Bulkhead, one of the best things to come out Transformers: Animated. He's a big giant green cuddly robot with a heart of gold.

I really love both Bill Fagerbakke and Kevin Michael Richardson as Bulkhead but I slightly prefer Bill Fagerbakke more.

I remember being excited when I found out that Bill Fagerbakke was going to voice a Transformer in Transformers: Animated. I thought Robot Patrick Star? Sign me up for that and Bill didn't disappoint as Bulkhead. He was a lovable, good natured if not clumsy robot but what I loved what was that Bulkhead was actual a genius, like hyper-intelligent when it came to space bridges, OK sure that was a major retcon but it really helped make him a more well rounded character, plus I loved his passion for art and his friendship with Bumblebee and Sari is adorable.

Kevin Michael Richardson is good too, I love it but not the same way I am with Bill's. He's a stronger, more experienced and little bit more jaded considering the shows much darker story. He does still have a lot of heart in the role much like Bill but it's not as much. For example his devotions to his friendship with Miko and Wheeljack is great and he had some really fun moments. Prime Bulkhead was a little bland I do feel maybe he should have taken up some engineering on the side to help him be a little more well rounded, and I know him being an ex-Wrecker isn't the most loved idea but I actually love the idea of him being one as well as being Wheeljack's old buddy. Still all things considered, I thought KMR did a good job voicing him, one of the better big guy roles he's played in the last couple of years.

French Tickner is a radically different Bulkhead, a crazy old man, a type of role he was often cast as, he was great at playing that version of the character.

BONUS: I really could see Ty Olson totally rocking the role of Bulkhead, just take his usual dumb sounding voice, pitch a bit lower and play him a bit smarter and we're good. I also would love to see Brad Garrett, Jeff Garlin or Jeremy Inman take a turn at voicing him.

These were all pretty good voices, but I can't help but hear Patrick Star in Bill's take.

Im excluding Tickner since his version is too different to compare.

Bill is really good and I disagree with it sounding too much like Patrick Star voice. His Pateick voice is much deeper and his Bulkhead has something that I felt was always missing from his Patrick, he sounds likable dumb and not just over the top dumb. Yeah he's not the brightest but he is so energetic and wants to help that you can't help but like the dumb lug. He may have been a little light to have a feel of a brawler but he was very likable and kind it almost makes up for it.

This is a better example of Kevin's deep voice, unlike Bill he has the deepness to sound like a brawler but not too deep to sound evil. I do like that he is able to make Bulkhead sound soft and kind to contradict his strong booming voice (even if it was with Miko, man I hated her) which made him likable, not as likable as Bill but likable enough.

I like Kevin and Bill a lot, both lacked something the other had. Kevin had the more powerful voice while Bill had the more lovable performance. I guess I slightly like Bill more but this is one of Kevin's more interesting use of his deep voice.

Yeah I'm gonna pretend the TFE version of Bulkhead doesn't exist.

Anyway, here's what I think of the other 2:
Bill Fagerbakke = younger (early 20's) Bulkhead
Kevin Michael Richardson = older (30-40 year old) Bulkhead
And they both did a very good job in this role, but KMR gets the edge imo.

While Kevin Michael Richardson has played that very deep kind of voice in several other roles, I think this role is the one the voice works best in. It really REALLY fits the chaaracter well, giving him that overdose of toughness that he needs.

I love Fagerbakke, and I like his take on Bulkhead, but I feel that he seems too timid at times, and it does get a bit distracting that he sounds closely similar to Patrick Star (I know it's the same actor). But I still think it's generally good.

Tickner:.........................No comment.....

Richardson takes this one.

Kevin certainly has the voice for the job, and I think he does great. But Bill gives a lot of personality al well, so I'll go with him.

I think each voice fits the particular character very well. French does a good job of being a crazy old man, and Kevin is brilliant as a tougher, more battle-ready Bulkhead. But really, if there is a voice that fits a character to perfection, more than any other voice actor, it's Bill Fagerbakke with Animated Bulk. He just brings across a voice that makes Bulkhead seem big and powerful, but also soppy and innocent, which is exactly what Animated Bulkhead is. So they're all good, but Fagerbakke gets my vote by far

Fagerbakke by far, especially considering Tickner's characterization doesn't seem to be the canonical one (as far as I know) and Richardson's voice has been recycled so many times that it's just become a bore to listen to now (though I guess that's more to blame on voice directors who wouldn't know vocal versatility if it bit them in the face).

Considering Susan Blu (Transformers Animated) and Jaime Simone (Avengers: MH) are the voice directors, I'd say it's say it's more not doing anything too different with him than not knowing vocal versatility, considering EMH and Animated had some pretty diverse voices from actors.

I meant to say "Jamie Simone (Avengers: EMH)" and "I'd say it's more not doing anything too different with him."

1) Kevin Michael Richardson- His deep voice makes it perfect for the character

2) Bill Fagerbakke- His fan-faring, Seth Rogen-esque voice gives a different take on the character, but it somehow fits.

3) French Tickner- WTF?
