EDITOR'S OPINION
Ah Deathstroke A.K.A Slade Wilson, you know despite being supposedly one of the most known villains in DC comics he is not exactly seen out of them all that often. (But then again that fate kind of happened to most of the Teen Titans cast, except to Robin due to obvious reasons.) But still Ron Perlman did such a wonderfully smooth sinister voice for Deathstroke/Slade it was definitely one of the better aspects of the Teen Titans series. But Patrick Seitz was pretty good in his own right and while its not quite as cool as Perlman it did certainly fit Deathstroke well enough.I know its not much of a competition but so far Ron Perlman is the best while Patrick Seitz is not that far off.
Note: Tracy W Bush voiced Deathstroke for the 2011 game DC Universe Online and he was okay. Not as good as Ron Perlman but not bad as I would rate him second alongside Patrick Seitz.)

For a "traditional" Deathstroke, I'm gonna go with JG Hertzler.

You know what I've notice? DC is really using Deathstroke a lot recently. Not only has he appeared in Young Justice, but he's also in Injustice, and set to appear in the Flashpoint adaptation and in the new Batman Arkham game. All I can say is, BOUT TIME!!

@Mrguy22594 That would make the game worth five more bucks alone.
Replysaid at 8:08 PM on Mon Apr 29 2013
@PsychicVoiceSpy And to disappoint more people Kevin Conroy will not be reprising his role as Batman for some reason. I hope at least it's Bruce Greenwood otherwise there goes that five more bucks.
Replysaid at 8:11 PM on Mon Apr 29 2013
@Mrguy22594 I have quite a few reservations about this game that I've talked about in the forums, but I don't think they will get Bruce Greewood back either because they're going for a young Batman...
Replysaid at 10:27 PM on Mon Apr 29 2013
@PsychicVoiceSpy I honestly don't think Bruce Greenwood sounded old for Batman and also Kevin Conroy could have played the younger Batman mostly because of Mask of the Phantasm, so what's Warner Bros. or maybe Bruce Timm's excuse?
Replysaid at 11:08 PM on Mon Apr 29 2013
@Mrguy22594 I have no idea. I agree with you though, it was just my reasoning that if Warner wanted a younger sounding Batman they wouldn't get Conroy or Greenwood either considering they both sound the same age. I feel they should have just brought Kevin back and he could have done a slightly younger voice, after all, people's voices don't change THAT much from their twenties to their thirties.
Replysaid at 7:30 PM on Fri May 3 2013
@PsychicVoiceSpy I would kind of like to have Rino Romano back even though that will probably never happen.
Replysaid at 8:24 PM on Fri May 3 2013
@Nightmare Crusher Agreed. Rino Romano is absolutely perfect for a younger Kevin Conroy Batman. Even though it's not likely, let's keep our fingers crossed that they use him in Arkham Origins.
Replysaid at 5:37 PM on Tue May 7 2013
@PsychicVoiceSpy For me at this point it's either Bruce Greenwood or Troy Baker. Either way would work, also Rino Romano sounded a bit out of character to be Batman in The Batman Tv series.
Replysaid at 3:57 PM on Thu May 9 2013
@Mrguy22594 I thought he was fine for what the series was going for. Wouldn't cast him as a more traditional Batman though, that should be reserved to Kevin Conroy and Bruce Greenwood.
Replysaid at 6:32 PM on Fri May 10 2013
@VctrBnsn That series gave us "Monkey Joker" voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. Also yes to Kevin Conroy and Bruce Greenwood. Ron Perlman will be reprising his role as Deathstroke in the flashpoint movie.
Replysaid at 5:53 AM on Sat Jun 1 2013
@Mrguy22594 I heard someone say recently that Troy Baker would be voicing The Joker, but I don't know for certain.
As for why Conroy won't be returning, I heard that since Mark Hamill announced he will retire from being The Joker, Kevin Conroy opted out of the role of Batman, since he and Mark were pretty much a pair. Mark was the perfect Joker, but we have to consider that he's getting on in years and the Joker voice isn't an easy one to do. Let's just be thankful we got so many good years out of him.

@RenoRebirth I think that's gonna be pretty good since Troy Baker can be insane. Also Ron Perlman most likely won't be voicing Deathstroke in Arkham Origins, also Roger Craig Smith will be voicing Batman in that same game which I am looking forward to. Kevin Conroy will voice Batman in the soon to be untitled sequel to Arkham City.

Ron Perlman's performance is classic. He is equal parts cunning, mysterious, and powerful-sounding. He can sound threatening or charming; the kind of voice that just gets inside your head. It was pretty different from the traditional Deathstroke, but it was a good change.
Patrick Seitz was great as a more traditional Deathstroke. He sounded tough and capable, with a bit of attitude.
Tracy W Bush had a little bit too much effects; makes him sound like a robot. Also a little too deep.
Wentworth Miller also did a good job, sounding cold and efficient. The subtle effects also worked.
Fred Tatasciore sounded good as well, not much more to add here.
Overall, I went with Perlman because his performance was simply incredible, but if I had to pick a more traditional Deathstroke, I'd probably go with Seitz, then Tatasciore or Miller a little behind.

Maybe if Teen Titans Go! is successful and the DVD sales for the original series go up they will consider it.

Ron Perlman as Deathstroke/Slade... call me crazy, but to me, his performance was nearly as good as Mark Hamill as The Joker. I don't remember ever listening to a character in western animation whose voice made me feel an almost physical presence of evil. He sounds intelligent, malevolent, and somewhat soothingly cold.
I haven't watched as many cartoons as I'm sure a lot of you have, but Ron Perlman's performance was so effective that it made me feel like I was watching something intended for a PG-13 audience, not a show for all ages. It is one of my favorite vocal performances for a villain ever, period.

@Music Meister Well, in the comics, Deathstroke lost his right eye when his wife shot him in the face (which in itself is an involved story). He made his vision impairment no secret, however, so the right side of his mask is black and featureless.

Replysaid at 11:41 AM on Sun Jan 27 2013
Wow, this is pretty difficult. This is pretty similar to Vandal Savage for me. Though Ron Perlman does a terrific job, his take on Slade is not really that faithful to the character in the comics, a somewhat weary mercenary. Miller shows that perfectly, so he gets my vote.

@D.A.V.E. Also, am I the only one who finds it amusing how both Perlman and Miller's clips talk about putting their enemy out of their suffering? :P
Replysaid at 12:12 PM on Sun Jan 27 2013
@D.A.V.E. I think Miller was trying to use Perlman's as the inspiration for his own and the writers also used some of Perlman's dialogue to get ideas for the YJ version of Deathstroke and I prefer Ron's manipulative voice the most and his was skilled on combat since Robin always had a hard time with him. They couldn't make him a mercenary due to censorship reasons. It's the same reason he was named Slade and not Deathstroke.
Replysaid at 5:59 PM on Sun Jan 27 2013
@D.A.V.E. Faithful to the comics =/= better. By that logic, pre-90s comics Mr. Freeze is superior to B:TAS Mr. Freeze.
Replysaid at 9:00 PM on Thu Jan 31 2013
@D.A.V.E. Funny thing is, not being comic accurate is why I prefer Ron Pearlman. Deathstroke, right down to his name, bleeds of the 90s attempts to be edgy and kewl. Comic Deathstroke is frequently shown taking down heroes he shouldn't be able to and brooding all the time. In comparison Slade is more manipulative and creepy plus when he manages to score some kind of victory it's far more believable.
Excuse my long-windedness, I had a bit of a hard time putting it exactly to words.

@Nightmare Crusher I see what you're saying.
I didn't particularly find Slade in TT to be an impressive villain either. Yeah, he had a creepy voice and good voice, but he really lacked motivation and direction beyond corrupting teenagers. He was a bit more fun as Trigon's treacherous servant, but again, they never did anything significant with his character.
Not to mention YJ Deathstroke manages to be closer to the comics without reeking from 90's. It's not a big role, and he could be terrible in the following episodes, but for the moment, I prefer the upgraded, white-collar replacement of Sportsmaster over the boogeyman in Teen Titans that was all style and little substance.

Sadly Wentworth is the weakest, sounding really generic. Performance and deilvery is decent though
I still prefer ROn who gave a nice cold voice but could still emote.
I'd say Patrick was pretty good, I like the raspy voice for the role and makes him sound like a threat
I question Tracy's effects but I guess it's decent and makes the voice fit but lacks a bite in the performance for a character known to be so deadly

#1 Ron Perlman
Slade (as he was addressed in Teen Titans that is) is probably one of Ron's most well-reowned roles, and for good reason. Cool, calm and collected but without sacrificing that threatening bite. His pure evil was easily reflected in both his dialogue and his actions.
#2 Tracy W Bush
This one is pretty much a mixed bag; his voice does sound a bit computerized, which I think is kinda cool and adds a nice touch, but he himself sounds a bit too deep. Not that Ron's voice was really much higher at all nor that you couldn't imagine him sounding much different but still. It's an okay performance he gave, but not the best he's done or could have done nor the best in DCUO.
#3 Patrick Seitz
Overall, he gave an acceptable performance, but again, the voice is too deep, even more so than Tracy's. Really, it's even lower than Montel Williams, which is NOT a good thing. He just came off as rather generic and overdone. Patrick has talent, but he should just stick with anime dubbing like he's always done.
P.S. I thought I gave my ranking here already...

I like Ron Perlman the most. I love how creepy, calm and calculating he sounds, almost as if he had all the sympathy sucked out of him.
Patrick Seitz is...well...more generic than anything else, he isn't terrible, but nothing really makes him stand out.
I do like what Tracy W Bush has going for him, I like the weird effects they added to him, almost like he's a cyborg. It sounds synthetic, I don't really know how to entirely describe it, but I do like it.
My vote goes to Ron Perlman with Tracy W Bush as a close second.

Now, Tracy Bush is doing something good here. He managed to get that happy medium between the two: gravelly like Patrick and yet silky like Ron.
Ron still wins, though.

@ny Well, Teen Titans was a children's cartoon and NOT an anime series, so you can only argue so much over censorship with the producers. Even if that's the case, it still remains one of the best series that ever aired on Cartoon Network (at least in my honest and unbiased opinion).
At least Ron had sounded truly evil while retaining the character's cool, calm, and calculating nature.
