Today on the Teen Titans VC section we shall go for a member of the Teen Titans' Rogues Gallery and this time its for this known occult leader... BROTHER BLOOD! We shall start this off with the 2003 Teen Titans series where Brother Blood made his debut in the 3rd season was made as Cyborg's "Arch-Nemesis" and was voiced by John DiMaggio. While Brother Blood's appearance in the series had a considerably different sense of style the show's take on Brother Blood wasn't completely different as John DiMaggio's performance worked well with the role as it can go from affably manipulative to angrily sinister. To make a long story short John DiMaggio's work as Brother Blood is another good example of the voice work in the show and is a rather interesting display of voice acting talent.

In the PS3/PC game DC Universe Online, Brother Blood had a more "Comics-Accurate" design in the game and was voiced by Ev Lunning. First of all I can't help but notice on how Ev's Brother Blood voice had a more regal tone to it I mean sure John DiMaggio's voice and performance for the role wasn't devoid of that but still. Of course I am not complaining as Ev's voice for the role does work as his performance does have a rather authoritative feel for the occultist leader whom is out to summon Trigon. Basically to make a long story short I have no problem with Ev Lunning's performance for Brother Blood as I found it to be one of the better performances for that game. Overall I felt that both of these guys did really well for this role here in their own ways.

VC thoughts update

John DiMaggio has a lot of presence and energy in the role. His acting is incredibly awesome, with the proper amount of ham and presence.

Ev Lunning, Jr. is also pretty good. He has the ham down, but his energy is not as great as DiMaggio. Still, it's one of the best performances in that game.

Gregg Henry just doesn't leave the same impression as John and Ev did.

Sticking with DiMaggio, but Gregg Henry was pretty good and creepy as Blood.

John DiMaggio is great, no doubt, and I like him a lot in the role. That said, I gotta give it to Ev Lunning, Jr. There's just something about his voice that feels very charismatic and very sinister. Plus I've always liked him as a voice actor.

@JTurner I am quite surprised to see quite a few voice actors from ADV Anime dubs in the voice cast for 'DC Universe Online'.

@EPA Deane Mr. Lunning, Jr. hasn't actually done that much voice acting for ADV; aside from NADIA, the only other ADV dubs he's voiced were DAI-GUARD, SAKURA WARS, ZONE OF THE ENDERS: DOLORES, I, EDEN'S BOWY, GET BACKERS, and PETITE PRINCESS YUCIE. He's better known for voicing Brother Blood in ULTIMA.

Other than that, he mostly does theater work, and he's a professional accent coach.

Ev Lunning Jr. has a perfect voice for the charismatic cult leader that is Brother Blood, but he lacks the passion that John DiMaggio has in his performance. So, my vote's for John.

@Galactic_Cyrus The vocal dialogue above performed by Ev Lunning spewed a considerable amount of passion. Its most likely the best piece of acting that he's given to the voice over medium to date in his sporadic decade long voice over career. John Dimaggio's performance as Brother Blood has always been competent as well.

John DiMaggio did a great job as the version of Blood the Teen Titans show went with and could work for a more traditional version of Blood.

1 . Ev Lunning Jr . : I`m really blown away here !His German/British accent really fits the sinister nature of The Character as well as lending an air of regality to The Role .
2 . John DiMaggio : I love John DiMaggio and he did a great job portraying the modified version of Blood out to control or failing that , destroy Cyborg . However , he loses points as the British accent he affected for The Role tended to slip noticeably when The Character was angry .
So , I love Both Portrayals but I gotta go against the crowd and give it to Lunning !

I really like both, but John has the edge here; sounds slightly more natural.
