For me, Greg Cipes is the best Beast Boy for me but Brandon Soo Hoo is able to second him.

You know; after The Judas Contract, I feel like I'm edging towards Brandon a bit more. Greg's still great but I feel that Brandon just makes Garfield more relatable whilst also getting down his boyish charm and humor.

If he continues to impress, I might actually change my vote to him down the line.

My favorite will always be Greg, He gives the character some great comic relief but also makes him sympathetic as well, His performances in Seasons 2 and 5 were definetly some of the character's best highlights plus the chemistry he had with Ashley Johnson's Terra no wonder the 2 get paired up alot.

Logan Grove never thought I would say it
for a YJ voice cast but he was a miscast honestly his take reminds me that Oh Gumball finally becamed a DC Hero, I thought Spisak did better but my least fav is Josh.

Soo Hoo was a stand out in the movie and happy to see his return in The Judas Contract.

My Top 5 Favourite Beast Boy Voices:

5. Josh Meyer
4. Jason Spisak
3. Brandon Soo Hoo
2. Logan Grove
1. Greg Cipes

Future Voice Actor Suggestions:

Josh Grelle would be my main recommendation , with him working for either a teenage or Young Adult version.

Having read HK-47 master's suggetion of Jesse McCartney as Beast Boy..... I actually think Haley Joel Osment might be good as well. Come on Sora's voice would be a great fit for Beast Boy

I also recommend Thomas Dekker, Andrew Francis and Matthew Lawrence.

1# Greg Cipes: What can I say that hasn't already been said? Greg is perfect for the role; he soudns youthful, energetic, and has a certain awkward yet lovable charm to him. He can also handle Garfield's serious moments very well which is nice. It's nice to see that his work nowadays isn't so exclusively TTG anymore.

2# Brandon Soo Hoo: Wow; I'[m impressed. He gets Garfield's personality down great and his voice sounds surprisingly like Cipes, it even cracks a little a time to time like Cipes. I look forward to seeing more of him, especially since the next film will be adapting the Terra storyline.

3# Logan Grove: He sounds a bit young for Garfield (then again, this version is supposed to be notably young), but he still does the job well nonetheless. I'm not sure what else to say other than that.

4# Jason Spisak: Err; this is an example of perfect casting that gets brought down by the direction. With his work as Kid Flash, Jason would be perfect for the role but he has to emulate Logan's take which I feel brings down the performance. I hope he gets another shot one day.

5# Jsoh Meyer: I haven't heard to much but he feels rather generic honestly. "Watch out; I'm an animal!" He also feels too mature for how I imagine Garfield sounding.

BONUS: I've often thought that Robbie Daymond would make a good Beast Boy, perhaps because both he and Cipes have voiced Michelangelo before. I also think that Will Friedle, Josh Keaton, James Arnold Taylor, or perhaps even Jesse McCartney (even though he's already voiced Robin) would make good Beast Boys.

For me Greg Cipes is the definitive Beast Boy, not even Jason Spisak comes close. (Though admittedly he didn't have a lot to work with, plus he was trying to emulate Logan Grove, so in the right circumstances he could have done a better take on the character)

But credit is where credit's due. Brandon Soo Hoo is a decent close second. In fact he almost sounds similar to Greg to a degree.

BONUS: I could see Vincent Martella, or even Josh Peck making a good Beast Boy.

@Troodon2 I think Steven Yeun (Glenn from the Walking Dead) could make a great Beast Boy. He's mentioned loving the character in an interview or two.

VC thoughts update.

Logan Grove is my favorite. He sounds pretty energetic and he seems to be having fun in the role.

Greg Cipes is really awesome too. He kinda sounds like a higher Corey Feldman. He managed to balance fun and seriousness quite well.

Jason Spisak sounds pretty good too. Would love to hear him reprise the role.

Josh Meyer is okay. The delivery could use a little polish, but still, it's not bad.

Brandon Soo Hoo is cool, but not too memorable. Still, he does show a lot of promise.

Personally, I grew up to Greg as beast boy because they way he portrayed sounds really excellent from others that i rank them either close second, behind third or below last. Speaking of which:

#1) Greg Cipes

#2) Logan Grove

#3) Jason Spisak

#4) Josh Meyer

Cipes. Without a doubt.

Grove and Spisack were good enough, but I felt Josh Meyer's delivery was so forced and emotionless.

Greg Cipes is my pick. Logan Grove was nice too. Jason Spisak would work if he wasn't trying to sound so young and copy Logan. For that game I realize he had to emulate him, but if given another chance somewhere he'd fit with his regular and/or Kid Flash voice.

I wanna hear Greg do an older, more true to the comics Beast Boy. I used to doubt that he'd be able to, but giving more thought, he totally could keep the attitude, while going to a more neutral range.

He could have worked for an older BB if he used more of his normal voice

None of them quite work. Greg Cipes was perfect in the first 6 or so episodes of the show (using his voice for Chiro or Michelangelo) ,but then his voice broke and it got too high and whiny sounding afterwards, though his acting in the character's serious moments was still solid. Logan, despite sharing Beast Boy's last name, sounds too young for a TEEN Titan. And Josh was the worst: "I'm an ANIMAL!" YEESH.

Overall, I vote Cipes just for what he could have been.

I actually prefer Logan Grove as Beast Boy. True, he had less to work with, but I enjoyed his characterisation more. Greg Cipes' Beast Boy didn't really grow on me until the middle of the original series' second season.
There, I said it.
said at 7:04 PM on Fri Sep 13 2013
This is a more minor thing, and it doesn't really affect my choice, but I thought I'd mention it. I like that Logan's voice started breaking near the end of the series. It feels more authentic, like Gar finally entered puberty.

@nikipotamus I do like Brandon's Beast Boy, though. He nailed Garfield's charm right of the bat.

I always find it funny that people say Greg Cipes is the definitive Beast Boy, even though his performance is just barely similar to his comic book counterpart.

The original Beast Boy is much more flirtatious and snarky, like KF in Young Justice.

All of them are awesome as Beast Boy, but Greg Cipes is the best voice as Beastboy, with Logan Grove as a close second. Greg Cipes has actually worsened as Beastboy thanks to Teen Titans Go.
said at 10:15 PM on Fri Sep 20 2013
@TrueMyriad I'm sorry, but believing that an actor's interpretation of a character has worsened because of one show that you deem inferior to another is just dumb. It's the equivalent of claiming Bruce Greenwood's Batman is worse for appearing in Young Justice (not that I significantly care for Greenwood's Batman in general, but I needed an example).

A great character voice will always transcend mediocre writing.

Greg is the definative BB, I bet he could also do an older version as well. But Logan is really good too, but all I hear from him is Gumball. At least he brings out that great comedic timing in YJ, even if they never used him THAT much. Josh is, kinda weird.

1 . Greg Cipes - In addition to being my and most other people`s introduction to The Character , Greg`s raspy Surfer Dude voice for BB fit his typically carefree , happy-go-lucky personality for most of The Series . I also admire Greg as knowing his proud Veganism in Real Life which he likely convinced The Creators to incorporate into The Character as it made sense for a heroic shapeshifter who can transform into a green version of virtually any animal he encounters , saying that " Real men don`t eat tofu " line probably made him physically ill .
2 . Logan Grove - His younger , nerdier but still retaining that happy-go-lucky Surfer Dude attitude BB Voice gets the job done for his few scenes in The Series .
3 . Josh Meyer - Too old , not memorable and doesn`t fit BB at all ! The fact his Performance is based on the more savage BB from The Comics who I`m not a fan of doesn`t help , either !

Logan is too young sounding for having aged 5 years since we last saw him
said at 3:58 PM on Thu May 10 2012
@GothamRed He's 13. Some 13 year olds don't hit puberty right away. Dick sounded pretty young for his age as well before the time skips.
said at 5:43 PM on Thu May 10 2012
@D.A.V.E. not really, jesse mccartney only slightly pitched up his voice for younger dick, though sounding too young is also an issue I have with nightwing in the series too.

@Anicomicgeek Logan Grove was good, but I'm gonna stick with Greg Cipes.
said at 8:55 PM on Tue Aug 21 2012
@Anicomicgeek You do know Logan Grove`s a lot more like Gar when he first became BB in The Comics which is my favorite Version of The Character whereas the Teen Titans Animated Version is more " teenaged , green Greg Cipes who can turn into animals and tells bad jokes all the time " , right ? Also , a lot of times Greg`s BB came off as acting obnoxious for its own sake while with Logan , you can actually tell he`s telling bad jokes to cope with tragedy , I didn`t get that so much from Greg`s performance , it was mentioned but until towards the end it was never made clear so half the time BB just came off as stupid and insensitive whereas Gar in The Comics was precocious if a bit naive , sensitive , tragic , awkward , innocent and the most kind-hearted Titan ( He was the first to forgive Terra after her death and suggested The Titans build a Hero`s Memorial for her despite everything she put him through which was far more than what Cipes` BB went through in the same situation believe me , that`s just the kind of selfless , kind-hearted person Gar was in The Comics ! )
said at 11:47 PM on Tue Aug 21 2012
@Azrael99 And yet you yourself stated yourself a preference for Cipes.
said at 4:37 AM on Wed Aug 22 2012

Also, I do think Cipes really well does suit the comics' Beast Boy, espcially later on.
said at 12:50 AM on Sun Sep 9 2012
@Anicomicgeek Um , Gar in The Comics did not use Surfer slang every single other line , would never do childish pranks endangering his friends the way Cipes` BB does all the time ( Unless maybe if he was particularly pissed )or go on and on about a Vegetarian . Also , the Real Gar told jokes to cheer himself up , not to get a cheap laugh out of others
said at 12:54 AM on Sun Sep 9 2012
@Anicomicgeek I stated a preference for Cipes voice-wise . Personality-wise , I much prefer the younger version of Comics Gar whom I feel Logan Grove best captures !
said at 1:03 AM on Sun Sep 9 2012

I said I could see Cipes working for comics' Beast Boy, not that the TT version was actually true to that.
said at 1:14 AM on Tue Sep 11 2012
@Anicomicgeek Perhaps but until someone at WB by some miracle gets the brilliant ( Not being sarcastic though my tone may appear that way )idea to make a Full-length Teen Titans Animated Film truer to The Comics with the main VAs from The Animated Series , we`ll never know , will we ?
