Claus is one of the main protagonists on the first game in the Tales series and is the first male mage in the series. Claus F. Lester is a 29 year old Professor whom is skilled in the arts of magic but unlike those such as Mint and Arche he specializes in summoning various magical creatures to attack enemies and his only type of weapon is certain kinds of books. Claus is known as a rather arrogant intellectual whom initially looked down on those such as Cress and Mint but over the course of the storyline he does reveal his nicer side and becomes good friends with the playable characters that he is with. Claus is able to understand and solve problems rather quickly he is also quite stubborn (and has a bit of a lecherous side to him as well).

EDITOR'S OPINION
Today on the Tales VC section we take a look at the first male playable Mage in the series... CLAUS F LESTER! Let us begin...Peter Von Gomm- Peter's voice for the role was alright as his performance was... decent, not as bad as some of the other performances in this game but not all that great in general. Basically its a decent example of Peter's work but I have heard him do better in the past.
Jack Bauer- Jack's voice for the role is pretty good as the somewhat raspy but moderate-toned voice does work for the role. Jack's performance does work with the role pretty well too as it does work for Claus' aloof persona pretty well and is a good example of the voice work in the dub of the anime.
Overall I am once again going with the anime of Tales of Phantasia and pick Jack here as Peter was decent at best.
