OK, this is a toughy because he's my character! Obviously my favorite turtle since I first saw the series in 1991.
My votes go to:
4. Adam Carl - besides paying homage to the older cast, his acting in the movie was good. I enjoyed the performance first and foremost.
3. Rob Paulsen - basically because the of the script he was given. He bleeds techno-geek in that series and I love it!
2. Sam Riegel - While I didn't follow the series in 2003, the blurb left me a strong impression. I could see him as Donny.
1. Mitchell Whitfield - I loved his performance in the newest movie, and he left the strongest impression of them all for me.

I haven't seen the 1987 series, so I have no problem with Rob Paulsen voicing Donny. He gets my vote.

Barry Gordon/Greg Berg - Very cartoony, but thats what the show was. Overall, they did a good job.
Sam Riegel/Mitchelle Whitfield - They sound the most natural, and like I said, the TMNT cast is my favorite.
Rob Paulsen - I was uncertain with every single cast member this show had at first. But Rob really does a good job. People get mad that they got him back but didn't voice Raphael, but Robs voice wouldn't fit his personality anymore.

Man it is SO weird hearing Rob Paulsen as Donatello after him being Raph for so long in the original series...

Paulsen works with Don....but I keep thinking 90s Raph. lol Barry Gordon and Sam Riegel are still my favorites.

@ConfusedPhantom That's exactly what I think every time I hear Rob as Donny. It's strange. I suppose it works, but I'm just prejudiced from being an 80's / 90's kid.

@Joop Well, 9 episodes in, and I'm actually starting warm up to it. I actually really like him as Donny now. Maybe moreso than Raph.

I think its kinda cool that Rob Paulsen, the voice actor for Raphael in the 1987 series, is now the voice actor for Donatello in the 2012 series.

Like Sean Astin's Raphael Rob's Donatello reminds me of Sam Riegel a bit but I'll stick with the actual Sam Riegel.

While Corey Feldman had funnier lines I felt Adam Carl was more appropriate for Don in the movies, which is 1 of the few good things I can say about TMNT 2. This character is a great example of Sam Riegel's career as a VA. Mitchell Whitfield is good, but not memorable. I was never really fan of Barry Gordon's voice, sorry.

Donny is my least favorite of the turtles (strange seeing as he's the one i have the most in common with). but i loved his 2003 voice given by Sam Riegel. Barry Gordon and Corey Feldman follow close behind. While i do like the voice of Mitchell Whitfield, i don't think it fits Don's character.

Sam Riegel is the best Donatello voice He made Donatello sound more Wise,Smart and Intellegient with That strong confident voice he brought in with a fluent tone filled with Enthusiasm,Activeness,Power and strength with a Clear structure and relaxed explanations fusing them together which make His Donny voice Special and Unique in his own way Sam really takes the upper hand here he nailed Donatello's personality IMO fits the character more
I like Pete Capella's Dark version of Donatello it speaks in a different way from Same xcept again more darker,serious and still listenable I never knew Pete could transform his voice into different tones like this it's incredible a lot different from his Silver voice :)...and Anthony Salerno didn't do a bad job either it sounds more younger and the voice reminds me of his other performances and even sounds similar to The Character he voiced in Sonic Unleashed Chip (Light Gaia)
As for the rest I didn't like them as much as Sam

@Truesonic Based on your comments and votes it seems to boil down to the fact that you just like the 2003 version better (probably grew up on it). Seems kind of unrealistic to really think that every 2003 version was the best voice though don't you think?

Oh no...I have heard a few old voice actors before the 2003 ones and I admit I do like most of the 2003 voice actors but not all of them I know they weren't perfect and all needed improvement I just strangely liked them more for some reason I'm sure the olds ones did a good job back then in the past I thought differently earlier but now that I think about it I kinda like the Other Generation better I didn't mean to be uptight here and don't get me wrong I don't hate the old ones In the past I thought others were better back then but now...I had a big think about it I apologise if you thought I was being harsh that way :L
I just like some more than others...But hey They created their own versions of the character and brought them to life in a different type of way I guess that's something I can be fair about They all brought different features which worked fine and well just some more than others.

Barry Gordon is a winner in my book for being the voice of Donatello. Greg Berg did not do a bad job either in my book, but Barry Gordon will always be Donatello to me.

Is Tom Wayland the same person as Pete Capella? The reason I ask is because I watching this on NN, and heard Crow from 5Ds voice. I don't remember hearing it, but I might have not paid attention to it enough then. Whatever the reason, either there is another voice, Tom Wayland and Pete Capella, or they are the same person.

I personally liked Sam Riegel the best: despite guy having some loose-ends on his career( his Starscream annoys me to no end, and his Edward in FFIV could,ve been better), guy can do very decent job when given right role, and Donatello is testament and proof of this. Alongside Veronica Taylor, Sam was one of the best hits in otherwise either average/ occasionally horrible casting in TMNT( I might get some enemies for saying this, but this,s only my opinion), Sam pulled through Donatello quite well, making him both technologically advanced, yet still giving very human compassion and gentelness, therefore making him likeable character without making him too nerdy.

I've never thought Corey Feldman worked as Donatello. I don't have anything against the guy, I just feel he was horribly miscast and is an awful match for Donny's personality. I'm a bit of a black sheep in that I've always preferred Adam Carl, not only to Corey Feldman, but in general; he's probably my favorite Donatello voice. Mitchell Whitfield did a great job in the new movie as well.

Barry Gordon is easily the best for the animated version of Donny. As far as live action I like Corey Feldman the best. I honestly don't even think that Greg wannabe should even be listed Barry Gordon did the entire run of the original cartoon I think.

Barry Gordon is Don's voice to me. He's got that sort of breathy nerd voice that works so well.
