EDITOR'S OPINION
Mr. Mxyzptlk, easily the quintessential trickster villain and character with a hard to pronounce/spell name. While he has had a few appearances in live action shows he has been in a couple or so animated ones too. In all throughout Superfriends he was voiced by Veteran VA Frank Welker.Though as renowned as Frank Welker is the last time he was in a Voice Compare with one of his roles on Superfriends as Kalibak it didn't go so well. But Ol' Mxyzptlk is a role that's easily more suitable for Frank Welker's higher voices. Mxyzptlk would require a higher tone that's a nice showing of mischievousness, that's not exactly easy on the ears but quite frankly it was never suppose to. And Frank did deliver on that as its one of his better performances on the show.
In the DCAU cartoon Superman: The Animated Series he was voiced by known comic actor Gilbert Gottfried. In which in the series he is given a very scheming and obnoxious high tone of voice, gee I wonder why they would cast Gilbert Gottfried in this role huh? OK perhaps that was a little cheap but still Gilbert was quite a natural in this role for sure as it was definitely a case of perfect casting there.
So I am not sure which to pick here, both did do the role well.

Going with Gilbert Gottfried, of course, though I have to give a big, BIG shout out to both Kevin Michael Richardson and Dwight Schultz. Both sound so great, I wish they had larger parts than a one-shot appearance and a not-that-great video game.

Gilbert Gottfried is my pick. Kevin Michael Richardson is my second favorite because it doesn't sound like his normal voice and I think it had potential even though he had one line.

Frank Welker version of Mxyzptlk is the best. I grew up with his version.
I agree with what jrcarter posted about Welker's later portrayals being less high-pitched.
as you can hear in this

@Anicomicgeek I'm kinda iffy on J Shannon Weaver, but Dwight Schultz was good. Still, I'm sticking with Gilbert Gottfried.

Gilbert Gottfried just sounds so naturally comically annoying so he's perfect for this character. The other Gilbert is a close second, though.

The Brave and the Bold clip caught me by surprise. It's the exact opposite of a typical KMR character.
I'm choosing Gilbert Gottfried.

Am I the only one who think Frank Welker sounds like Michael Bell?

Mr. Mxyzptlk was in the Superman Returns game, voiced by Dwight Schultz.

I prefer everything about the STAS version of the character, the design, the pronounciation of the name, and I happen to love Gilbert Gottfried in general

Personally, Gottfried does a great voice for Myxyzptlk, no matter how loud it is.

Is it me or does Frank's voice sound alittle like Dee Bradley Baker.

I like both of them but I always imagine Welker's voice when reading the comics I think it suits him more than Gottfried's.

1. Both versions are annoying. Mxyzptlk reminds me of certain houseguests who overstay their welcome.
2. Voice wise:
Welker: To me, he's the definitive voice for Mxyzptlk. With his Toyman-esque voice, he sounds perfect when dealing with not only Superman, but the rest of the Superfriends.
Gottfried: His voice is unforgetable too, and his Mxyzptlk looks a lot more like his first appearance. My only problem is that I wanted to see Gottfried's Mxyzptlk using his 5th dimensional antics on the Justice League.
3. Pronounciation:
Welker: Mix-ill-plik
Gottfried: Mix-yes-pit-lick
Advantage: Frank Welker
