Son of Darkseid and a big burly warrior with a occasional bit of daddy issues, so far he hasn't made that many appearances that would require voice acting but he has made a pretty good impression. In Superfriends he was voiced by VA legend Frank Welker however it wasn't exactly his best handiwork. Its not really bad per say but it is rather strange to hear Kalibak with a fairly high very raspy voice, but lets just say when it comes to Frank Welker's handiwork on Superfriends I prefer his work as Darkseid.

However in Superman: The Animated Series (and Justice League) he was voiced by Michael Dorn whom quite frankly was perfect for the role. Michael Dorn's voice and performance for Kalibak was quite fitting and is another good example of how awesome the voice acting can be in the DCAU shows.

So as much as I am one of Frank Welker's fans I do have to give it to Michael Dorn here.

(Note: Michael Leon Wooley is now a direct 2nd place in my book, sure his work is still not as great as Michael Dorn but is still good nevertheless.)

Franks voice for Kalibak is eerily close to Megatron, and I don't know how to feel about it. For a first time performance it is certainly unique, but something about it doesn't click with me at the same time, like it both sounds like it would fit but it doesn't fit that design.

Dorn was a great choice for the character, able to have this somewhat beastly quality to his delivery while also having a slight bit of intelligence to him. Not one of the best performances from the show, but a fun one.

Michael feels kind of generic to me, especially in comparison to his Darkseid. It just feels really ordinary, there's not much of a sense of power, intimidation, really nothing that much stands out about it. It's just kind of there performance wise.

Piotr sounds like he's forcing it. The apelike quality is a cute idea but it doesn't really leave much of an impression and again, it just feels more like he's forcing the voice which makes it come off more awkward then funny.

1. Michael Dorn (the only one I'd say I like)
2. Frank Welker
3. Piotr Michael
4. Michael Leon Wooley

I'd say for a future VA, Travis Willingham, Patrick Seitz, JB Blanc, or Beau Billingslea

Honestly, I like Frank Welker the most. I really think his high, beastly voice fits Kalibak perfectly. Kalibak is not really a big guy, but a rather short beastly looking guy (especially compared to Darkseid) with a stocky look, and Frank sounds exactly like that. He also has quite a few fun moments and I really liked his chemistry with Rene Auberjonois' Desaad.

Piotr Michael goes for a more caveman-like approach. I actually like it, he manages to sound quite amusing in the role.

Michael Leon Wooley also sounds pretty good.

Michael Dorn... honestly, I think he and Michael Ironside should have switched roles. He sounds too deep for Kalibak and it just doesn't feel right coming out of the character for me. Plus, he just doesn't leave an impression on me.

Piotr has some funny moments but is rather fake sounding.

I like Frank Welker and all, but his Kalibak is too light to me. I think both Michaels sound more fitting. If I had to choose one, it'd be Dorn.

Michael Dorn's deep and gruff sounding voice fits Kalibak like a glove. One thing interesting to note is that Dorn is the only VA whose currently voiced Kalibak to have never also voiced Darkseid.

Michael Leon Wooley is pretty good too, though he sounds a bit too well spoken for Kalibak.

Frank Welker, sadly I think he's very miscast, his light raspy Megatron sounding voice just does not mesh right with Kalibak's brutish design, I've seen bits of the show and his take never impressed me, he comes off more as annoying and grating for my liking.

I'm giving my vote to Michael Dorn.

BONUS: I think Travis Willingham or Mark Acheson could fit Kalibak rather well.

@Anicomicgeek On second thought, while Michael-Leon Wooley was good, Michael Dorn was indeed better, so I'm gonna go with Dorn.

Welker is better as Darkseid, but for Kalibak I give it to Worf.
